Robustness, reliability, and affordability are qualities that a vehicle ideally needs to possess in order to stand out among competitors, especially in a market with so many options in developing countries. Under this concept, austerity plays a fundamental role, something that Toyota's engineers knew how to take full advantage of to create their new pickup truck.
Meet the Hilux Champ, one of the most prominent contemporary innovations from the Japanese company, where simplicity and a modern retro-futuristic design blend with durability and adaptability for hard work, even leisure activities.

We need this in North America. Vehicles aren't affordable anymore. These would sell like hotcakes. I just want a utilitarian truck.
I'm in the US. This is literally the only truck I would want to buy. I would go for the crew cab and shorter bed with the larger tires.
Too bad it won’t happen with an unrealistic climate agenda.
The kid leaning his seat back that 1 degree at 4:18 😂
Nice truck tho
What a shame it won’t be available in the US. It’s such a nice truck it could slap a Motorstorm paint style on it
Nice truck???????? Whatttt????
@@steco8517 it is simple, it is cheap, it is body on frame, it probably gonna be rugged cause less feature and its modular
It is close as you can be to a chassy only vehicle which then can be modified to whenever you wanted so yeah it's a good truck
Yes I love it, exactly the motorhome , I am from south America, Guyana 🇬🇾 ❤
I hope that it will be sold in europe
Don’t get your hopes up, I live in Thailand where it was introduced and you cannot even get close to that $10,000 price.
Are you saying It cost more that $10.000us dollars?
@@user-rt6st5zq8q the one I priced did have an automatic transmission and diesel engine, but was $17,000
@@user-rt6st5zq8q I just looked at a base model. 460 000thb or 13000USD.
I very like this minitruck
I’d love to see in Turkiye
Yes I would buy one. Just the plain Jane model with the drop sides.
I would love to be the 1st one to have it in Zambia 🇿🇲
Que venha pro Brasil, amém.
I would love one too bad. I live in the usa😂
Is it coming to the UK
Perfect vehicle for me
I wish I had one converted into a 4 seater or a SUV. Cheap but reliable and tough. 😊
If it was affordable, would be my everyday vehicle.
$10,000 USD is expensive in some nations, but the cheapest used trucks are $20,000 USD here in the US. So, yes, it would be sold by the tens of thousands here if it was street legal.
@@w_6880 some of the imports base on Honda and Suzuki design are going for 13000 here in Hawaii.
@@w_6880 have seen several like it with right hand driver side Honda and Hiro (Toyota commercial truck line) running around town. Not sure how they make it legal but have local plates. No freeways here but looks like they're doing fine.
I would like it with 4 wheel drive option I the Kenya location.
even with the chicken tax, it's still cheaper than any light pickup in the US.
the only problem would be getting it to conform with regulations.
Instead of a $10K price and and not being able to import any, why wouldn't you charge just enough more to bring it up to American regulatory rules and sell several million here?
I would like double cab pick up set up
It looks like it fails the USA's EPA's footprint size regulations for gas vehicles, but I am not sure. Does anyone know if that is correct?
Base model is 13000USD here in Thailand.
Correct!!!
I’ll take 2 at that price for businesses
I like the front but I’d like the sides to be higher. I like how long the bed is. A lot of trucks now, have beds that aren’t long enough to fit items such as wood like material which measure 12 -16 feet long on average. An 8 foot truck or box truck is standard for that. So I like the length of the bed on this one
Toyota may say it's $10,000 by the time the dealers get through adding on profits it could be at least twice that price. The major auto manufacturers should go the Tesla route for selling vehicles.
I live in the US and the Dealer here told me yesterday that no one sells these in the US .
Bring it to the USA
Would it be possible to bring it in the Philippines?
it is confirmed also toyota PH will manufacture that but different cab design either it will be a cargo or a 7 sitter
What would be the equivalent to this , here in America? Flat bed easy conversion to accommodate Micro business’ ?cheap durable small truck?
Nothing...
Toyota need to compete with the Chinese & Indian truck manufacturer that are gaining ground in South East Asia.
They are very much cheaper than the toyota Imo1.
Less than $10k. Have large flat base & use to transport good & food trucks.
Too bad... not available in Canada! 😂
Smart move by Toyota .This is for the developping country market where the cost of a pick up in the USA buys you a house. Toyota's long range planners also have figured out a worldwide recession is on its way!
It is more of trying to compete with the Chinese & Indian made trucks (especially the Chinese), which are currently gaining to much ground in South East Asia. A lot of food trucks, small businesses transporting goods etc in which toyota are loosing out. The Keyu, Great Wall etc.
The current Hilux can't complete bcos of price & versatility of modification on the base design.
I need universal variant
Great truck.all vehicles not that much to make it’s once they roll out the factory that they double in price.here in Uk take a trip over to Germany get the same car a pay thousands less even with the cost off going there a bringing it back.if your country is considered wealthy, then money gets added on because of this.its a piss take UK is a rip off.things in USA you think a lot then see what it cost in Uk for same thing.think what do is what ever costs in $ they double it into £.to hard for them to workout the exchange rate
タイをアメリカに編入すればアメリカ本土でも発売できるんじゃないかな。
Waiting for a Chinese clone...hhh
_”As this new vehicle is intended solely for cargo and transportation tasks.”_
*Vehicle:*
_A device or structure for transporting persons or things; a conveyance._
Americans have been the world's foremost consuming people, and they like big things, like big trucks, big houses, and of course big food portions.
Even now with high inflation, they still prefer to drive large pickup trucks, flooring the gas pedal when the light turns green, filling the air with smoke.
This is true. While at bike week in Daytona I saw a multiple Boss Hoss (motorcycle with an American V8) they had the 350 small block version but also had a 632 cubic big block version. That motor is to much for a full sized truck let alone a motorcycle. Americans- you want the 64 ounce or the large?
We won't be getting these in the US or EU as long as Toyota and other car makers, can force us to buy significantly more expensive cars delivering the same utility. The only reason the Champ exists, is that Toyota can't sell more expensive trucks in Thailand and would otherwise lose market shares. Toyota looks at what they think you can pay and charge you that. As long as other manufactures do the same, you are stuck paying those prices.
I would love to tour Europe in one of these with the camper module attached.
We could use these in Eastern Europe! These are the prices we pay for Western European hand-me-downs, when we just need reliable vehicles that don't have 300,000 km of unknown abuse.
It can work in india subcontinent african subcontinent 😂
India already have pickup truck under 10k $
this is the only truck i want, everything else is way too much
For all these yrs Land Cruiser has had its own iconic look!
That being said, why the hell dose Toyota want these to be wanna be landrovers an Silverado trucks.
Wrong move Toyota!!!
