Skip the second 2 x 4, just drill two pilot hole through the pipe. Now drill a slightly larger hole big enough for the screw head in "one" side of the pipe. Now stick a screw through the big hole, into the little hole and screw it to the board. No zip ties. No second board. I would also use thin finder washers that will easily bend and curve to the interior of the pipe. Just insert from the end of the pipe before putting the screws in.

Good job on the rod rack. Just one tip. You seem to be new to working with tools, when working with rotary tools such as drills etc remove your gloves as if you were to get the material caught in the tool could seriously harm you. Keep up the good work.

Very cool design! I highly recommend cutting the zip ties flush. The little tag left behind can cut you really bad.

i made a rod holder like this, but instead of zip ties, I used screws.

If you ever plan to make another consider pipe straps instead of zip ties. Will hold PVC more securely and look nicer. BTW good job :)
