    6:08 I spoke with the guy from speedbar about aerodynamics in a TT, he explained if you divide the amount of resistance you experience in percentages wind resistance is more than 90% whereas mechanical resistance (drivetrain etc) is less than 3%, the mechanical resistance the pulley-wheel causes is a tiny fraction of that 3%. You could could cut that down by getting a large pulley-wheel from ceramic-speed, however this will result in more resistance in the end because the wind resistance will get bigger.

    • @ollyole4560
      @ollyole4560 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not that simple, it's turbulent air from the rider's legs/feet/cranks/pedals/chain/rear wheel/frame that's incident on the pulley wheels. And you also have a benefit of a larger crosssection on the larger pulley wheels that reduce's it's 'Cd'.

    Well other than shimano probably wants to sell all the 9200 they can rather than supply it to sponsor teams, they did not develop new TT shifters and brake levers, 9100 tt shifters and brake levers got an update to work with 12 speed. But you need to have that wired, and you need the new to old wire adapter. Those are more reasons to stick with 11 speed for flat course TT bikes.

Fast delivery: It arrived 5 weeks earlier than expected.4. Easy assemblyJust a few cons but nothing major:1. Cheap tin tubes and had flat on first day... but not a big deal. I replaced the tubes.2. Seat is a bit uncomfortable but that's pretty much the same situation with most bikes.3. Seat post is a bit long/high for a smaller size 48 bike - had to saw 2 inch off to fit properly. The lowest setting is too high. The post locking system does not seem to hold well (perhaps because I saw 2 inch off).4. wheels are not tubeless compatible (from what I can tell)

      @95TegSE ปีที่แล้ว

      I run an OSPW with a 60T ring and I still have to take 2 links out of the chain on my Shiv TT disc (size med). I’m running an 11-32 cassette, so my biggest gear combo would need a longer chain than his 11-30

    • @l.d.t.6327
      @l.d.t.6327 ปีที่แล้ว

      because an OSPW is less aero. The aero disadvantage is bigger than the reduced friction advantage. That's why you only see sponsored athletes and people with too much money and no brains using those.

      because a standard shimano derailleur is more aero than any ospw.

    Why does a power meter need a magnet?

    • @Kim_Miller
      @Kim_Miller ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out this earlier vid. It shows the magnet and Si says it's a cadence sensor as this power meter doesn't have an accelerometer. The get power figures they multiply the stain gauge reading by cadence, similar to motorcycle horsepower is torque by rpm.

    Can somebody explain to me how they can still use the Shiv TT given it is no longer commercially available in any region which therefore contravenes the UCI rules of commercial availability

    • @l.d.t.6327
      @l.d.t.6327 ปีที่แล้ว

      A bike that has been sold out was commercially available. The UCI only states it has to be on the market within 12 months after releasing the prototype, but it doesn't specify how long it has to stay on the market. There are plenty of bikes in UCI races that have been UCI-approved, but as they are older models, aren't available on the market anymore.

      To be fair the Shiv needs a refreshed version with threaded bottom bracket like on the Tarmac

      @xGshikamaru very true. But I seriously doubt they will update anytime soon.
