Were wild times back in those days. Do you remember the "party hotline"? Leeway used to I think sponsor it. Used to call and they would tell you what party's were happening and if there was a local band playing. Cover, kegs E.T.C. Was just as wild as "The Dirt " portrayed it. I think people think "the 80's So Cal" scene was exaggerated. No. It was insane. Glad I experienced it. The Crue back then were huge. Used to surf in front of Vince's house in Redondo.

My friend and I used to hang out at the Troub around that time every week during the summer of 82. And she’s right on the money with that. David Lee Roth & Alex Van Halen were always there. And I would see Chris Holmes in a lot. I seen Rob Halford there. I Remember, I was taking a piss right next to KK in the stalls. I remember going to parties all the time at Ronnie and Wendy Dio’s in Tarzana. Guys from Rough Cutt and Warrior were there. Crazy times, fun as hell though.
Lmao! Me too! One time me and my buddy found this giant box full of magazines. Some hardcore stuff that we had never even heard of. It was like Indiana Jones finding buried treasure! We stuffed them in a hollowed out tree we knew about so they wouldn't get wet. We were about 12 or 13 at the time in the mid 80s.
Canadian metal queen (and, exceptionally hot...lol) Lee Aaron was also in OUI in the early '80s. No one made shiny pants look better than her back in the day.
I remember KKBZ. They had a hard rock/heavy metal format from '82-'83. As I recall, they played 'Too Fast For Love' way before KMET and KLOS. They must have played something off that album about once an hour!
It's called, getting old and it sucks. haha I`m almost 57 and up until a year ago I could remember every detail of my life from the age of 7. Dates, times, names of people and what happened. I could relive every detail in my minds eye. Now it's become fuzzy.

If you are looking for originality from any 1980s glam rock band, I think you’ll be struggling to be honest- it was just a more slick produced version of what many 70s rock bands had already done (Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Van Halen, Y & T, Montrose, Quiet Riot etc and yes Led Zeppelin).
It's obvious that Crue stole the verse riff of "Looks that Kill" from Dokken's "Young Girls". Livewire's opening riff could've been derived from from Great White's "Out Of The Night", as the Crue used to see Great White's (previously known as Dante Fox) early shows according to Mark Kendall. Tommy "borrowed" the concept of the rotating drum kit from the drummer of Mick Mars' old band White Horse. But then again, name a band that hasn't stolen. There aren't many...
