Wanda desperately needs a happy ending, she lost her family, was used and experimented by hydra, she was used by Ultron, lost her brother , lost her reputation and was seen as a war criminal , saw the love of her life die twice , lost her children and than (spoilers if you haven't seen multiverse of madness) founds out that she is the only variant who wasn't able to have a normal life no wonder she went haywire in the movie she has nothing left to live for, the only way to give her a happy ending is if she lost her memories

This is exactly what many Marvel stans who hate Wanda don't understand. Wandavision explored BOTH of these things. They showed Wanda growing through her grief while ALSO exploring what horror the Hex actually was.
It showed how a broken but powerful woman can do in order to make herself happy, while also telling us that what she was doing was not moral. I still believe Wanda is good at heart. Hell, after she realised what the residents of Westview were going through, she immediately decided to break down the Hex and let them free. But then she sees her kids and Vision disappear and puts it up again. Again, a very nice representation of how grief can destroy someone and tell us that even morally wrong actions cannot be excused, but can be justified. She is responsible, but she is not to blame.
A hero at heart but a villain in action due to her trauma and society forcing her. She's a morally grey character. Which is why she's one of the best imo.

I think in the course of 7 years. She has been the greatest transition of heroine into sorrow, grief, guilt, depression, etc.... Out of all the characters in the MCU. There is slightly more depth than Spider-Man (Tom Version), who was only introduced 1 year after herself.
Then there's this amazing transition into her villain arc... Never been done the way they did it for Wanda. It is detailed and calculated. ♥️

There are three details you left out (and it is very important details btw).
First, Wanda used a probability magic/hex during the time when the second stark bomb landed into Wanda's original home.
Second, Wanda's powers was always within her and it was only amplified by the mind stone, meaning, she was born as a Witch.
Third, she was doing an "astral projection" in the last scene just like doctor strange, but with the use of her magic, she was able to use "astral projection" while her body's consciousness is still present (it was not an illusion).

    Few things that were missed:
In the last scene of WandaVision, she was not in an illusion, that was her astral form/astral projection.
Her kids calling for her in the last scene of WandaVision was not them calling from her mind or another universe. It was Chthon tempting her to use the Dark Hold, as he is the dark sorcerer who created the Dark Hold and is tempting her to use it.

Good or bad, Scarlet Witch remains my favourite MCU character. Aside from how beautifully her powers are presented and Elizabeth Olsen's great portrayal, she's a multi-faceted character with so many layers that we can all relate to in terms of grief, loss and the desire for happiness on the basic level.
While I understand many seeing her as unredeemable by the end of MoM, it upsets me that Iron Man remains so popular and beloved in spite of the numerous mistakes he's made. In fact, many of the MCU conflicts can be traced back to his actions even after he starts trying to become a better person in his first solo film. Granted he made the ultimate sacrifice for the universe in Endgame but everyone seems to overlook Wanda sacrificing her love, Vision for the greater good all because Thanos reversed it. Even Spider-Man isn't too far off from his idol, Tony Stark. For being two of the greatest scientific minds in the MCU, they make some of the most idiotic mistakes with disastrous consequences.
At least we can say Wanda's mistakes were driven by horrible tragedies that were thrusted upon her. How many of us can say we would always be able to do the right thing after going through all that she had. If I were to lose everyone I loved, I doubt my efforts can be focused towards doing right by the world at all times.
Sorry for the long comment. Great video!

In Dr Strange Multiverse Of Madness, even after she has killed so many people and done other bad things still I feel bad for her at the end. This shows how well her character has been done and what an amazing portrayal it has been by Elizabeth Olson.
The transformation she has undergone from Wandavision to MOM is so mind-blowing, it doesn't even seem like the same person or even the actor(which was the point of "Darkhold" and the movie). This is testament to her amazing acting skills 👏

I was never a big marvel fan. I loved watching the movies but I never bothered connecting them together. Wanda’s story is so tragic, so much that I start to sympathize with her, even tho she turned into someone who only cared for her self and didn’t care if she killed innocent lives. Her anger makes sense. It makes me love her character even more and I hope at the end she gets the chance to redeem herself.

Thank you SOOOO MUCH!!!! I wanted to see MoM but when I read the reviews so many said it is best appreciated by seeing WandaVision. Your channel gave ALL that I needed to know about WM, which actually, until I watched this, I had NO idea how much I did NOT know about her! I also saw that I have NOT seen all of the movies which she was featured in. The ones I did see I did NOT really have a good handle on her at all. Considering that a lot of the comments were saying it should have been named WandaVision 2, I would not have been able to appreciate the storyline.
When I look at WM's life, she seems to be the most interesting bec she cannot be easily categorized as good or evil. I had watched The Boys (on Prime) and the way in which each of the characters are developed in the narrative is so much "mature" bec the black & white of who is the good guy vs who is the bad has been completely blurred. It focuses on the inner psychology which, when it is done well, allows someone to see how even the darkest, most (seemingly) evil character, is simply trying to work out their inner pain of wanting to be loved, acknowledged, seen, etc. In this respect, having super powers is NOT so much what we are able to do in the world BUT actually how emotionally integrated and whole we are with what we have gone through. The true super hero is one who has fully experienced and felt at one with EVERYTHING which has happened and will happen.
Really FANTASTIC job how you highlighted her entire mythology in 34 mins in a way that is entertaining, interesting and engaging.

I just watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. I didn't watch WandaVision all the way because I never cared for Wanda. However after watching Doctor Strange 2 I mourned for her. She was truly in misery suffering from all that she has lost, knowing that in a different world she's happy. That's literal torture and they did an excellent job of making the audience feel for her.

I know it’s a late comment but I love seeing these remarks from those who didn’t watch WandaVision.
Given how horribly one dimensional she’s written in ds2 compared to the show and character assassinated unfortunately, the fact that someone with no prior knowledge of Wanda’s arc or care for it is absolutely 1000% on Olsens acting alone even with the worst writing and limited screen time is able to make the audiences empathise.

    This video is wonderful.💯
Thank you for making it. It helps me put everything into a literary context.
I came to the MCU probably in an unusual way. The first movie I ever saw was Ultron (I only saw the first IronMan a few weeks ago), and the only character that really jazzed me was Wanda. So I’m into the MCU primarily because of Wanda/ScarletWitch.
After infinity war I was totally bummed that she “died“, and started researching the character and reading the original comics and discussions about the comics.
By the end of “end game“ my emotions were primarily triggered not by Tony Stark, but by Wanda.
So it’s not an accident, contrary to almost every friend I have who also likes the MCU, that my favorite single Marvel installment was WandaVision.
Scarlet witch in my view has the potential to be an even more interesting character than Thanos (and being an economist, to me Thanos was just Thomas Malthus with superpowers).
What does still sort of confuse me, is I know now that in the comics mutants and the X-Men have important interactions with her, get in the MCU it’s essentially ignored. I suspect it’s some sort of copyright issue or something. Although that seems weird since it’s all Marvel?
Regardless, I love this character, and this video was very useful in chronologically smoothing out my understanding of the entire MCU character arc. So thanks again

The thing that I love about Wanda is that your able to explain not only how she has her powers but why, but the powers themselves are so indescribable yet so vague, it can't be put into words. ALSO:
When Wanda was younger, although she was born a witch and had access to chaos magic (since she was a literal conduit for it), not only could she not fully access the"chaos magic" itself, rather bits and pieces of it, which were barely even chaos magic at its finest, just powers OF a witch that were umlocked overtime. We only truly ever see chaos magic displayed when she's under great emotion or stress, which explains just the surface of her potential, because Wong literally explains how her power is limited to her own imagination, which explains even further how much growth she has, and how much more there is to come.
So excited to see more of her and her potential!!😁

I'm kinda in a grey area with wanda maximumoff. I mean age of ultron made me hate her but then love her, but civil war kinda ruined her for me. And then infinity war and endgame kinda helped her, and now I'm back with being conflicted with her on wandavision season 1. And now I'm not sure about her in multiverse of madness anymore.

"Whose intentions and morals are reflective to being a human" should have been your line. I realized why most people hate Wanda. I think because she reflects the imperfection of us human beings. Fragile, at times emotional and emotionally controlled, irrational, easily deceived and manipulated.
    She is our mirror.
And we usually hate seeing ourselves being weak.

The narrator seemed to diminish everything she did even when she first got her powers her weakened psychic/psionic is style powers which was the minds stones influence over her chaos magic she was on par with Thor and Vision and in fact most compared her to Jean Grey. In fact she showed the hex power from then as she put Iron Man, Thor, cap, Black Widow and albeit unseen Bruce Banners minds into a warped reality where they encountered their greatest fears with little control over their bodies, (almost like in Charmed when Phoebe had Astral Projection Premonitions, their consciousness was in a Wanda hex).
In Civil War she was vilified and again treated like a monster yet she fiercely loyal to Steve and Clint (Cap & Hawkeye) as they have been brother/father replacements to her. She was MVP to the team as she saved their asses throughout fight and he said “held up rubble” she was holding up a building and only stopped when her focus was stopped with War Machines sonic cannon.
In infinity War I think if Cap, Nat and Sam hadn’t come she still may have been able to fight off Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glave as she then wouldn’t have had to split her focus as prior she kept saving Vision, patching him up where when they turned up she had vision behind her and ready to kill them. Then she killed a huge portion of the Army with Thanos own Thresher machines to where Okoye said best line “why was she up there this whole time.” She then held off Thanos who was using the space stone to absorb her powers. Plus if he didn’t have Time Stone she may have killed him herself which ends up being a bind of contention for her in MoM (you gave him the time stone and you’re a hero, I killed the man I loved and he rewound time and I’m your enemy. How’s that fair)
In Endgame she almost killed him and Iron Man (strongest suit), Captain America using Mljonir and Thor using Stormbreaker couldn’t even hurt or disarm him she destroyed his weapon and even Monica points out in WandaVision she’s the only one who came close to killing him single handed.
Also in WandaVision she recreated Vision with his full powers, Billy with her powers, Tommy with Quicksilvers and then her Magic made Monica a super powered being. Also in the final fight she then steals all of Agatha’s magic too. She was amazing in MoM and love all the horror movie Easter eggs like Samara (Ring) crawling through the mirror dimension to the gong, the Carrie like when taking on Illuminati.
When he finds outs she’s the Scarlet Witch Strange doesn’t have a clue what that means but Wing and the elders did and were instantly worried, she took down the whole of the temple with hundreds of sorcerers as if they were nothing, the Illuminati’s pride blinded them to take Dr stranger’s advice and they paid for their arrogance. Even in the end they(Strange, Wong & America Chavez) had to make her let the children see her as a monster as they knew they couldn’t defeat her and that the only power that would stop The Scarlet Witch was Wanda herself.

She's a Villan, to the people. But it's hard to define Villan. Like, Thanos was probably trying to stop a celestial from destroying all of the earth, "balance" because they need a populated planet to emerge. Like, Villans are just people who don't have their stories told, and who do hurt people along the way. Heros hurt people but are known and sympathized with.
