It's always amazing how hip hop and music in general brings people from so many different walks of life together. It always reminds and reinforces what I tell people. With all the differences we have, we also have so much in common. Instead of letting those differences separate us, let's appreciate them but also embrace what brings us together.
This track was slapping on my block when it dropped. QB rappers could've grouped up like the Wu did and blew up if they weren't beefing with each other all the time. Capone N Noreaga, AZ Coremega, Mobb Deep are QB rappers you should look into.
If you've slept on It Was Written, then I would highly advise you to go in deeper on the album. For me the most lyrical rap album of all time, including Illmatic. Pure poetry! I still prefer Illmatic but Nas killed it on It Was Written. Check out The Message and Silent Murder from the same album. Not really story telling tracks but him just spazzing out in similar fashion. It Was Written does have some great story telling as well though, case in point I Gave You Power, The Setup and Shootouts
more lyrical yeah but the soundscape is quite a bit more radio friendly (some purists think it sounds a bit too "clean")... so it's common to dig Illmatic for the production (god tier selection of producers) and It Was Written for the lyrical content - both albums are fire but they have slightly different moods as a whole. nas a beast
@@stobe187 agreed and that's why I only mentioned nas' lyrical performance and not production. It's also one of the reasons why I still prefer Illmatic over IWW. Doesn't detract from the fact that IWW is still an absolute classic. Nas is different...
Loved the reaction yall!! Yes, Nas was referrering to the Clothing Brand Karl Kani which was tha shit in tha 90's. Also, the term "peasy headed" was something those of us born in tha 70's like myself and Nas heard alot growing up from our parents and grandparents. It meant your hair was nappy.
@stollinroned5090 Because there are so many toehr great nas songs that they haven't heard yet. They haven't reacted to many so they should react to a fee others first before Affirmative action
Before thus git started I knew they would miss a lot. Mumia went over most people's heads but Nas forever the pro black poet didn't forget about Mumia on death row.
