  • In this episode watch the Daniels try and diagnose and fix the Mini's clutch. The problem ended up being quite surprising, watch out for part 2 to see what it was. If you have any guesses what it might be comment them below.

Because Limit 55 Daniels are deep inside the Mini, its worth mentioning that Paddy Hopkirk died on 21st July 2022. Arguably one of the greatest BMC/ Mini/ race/rally driver that has ever lived. 13 international rally wins including--- 1964 Monte Carlo Rally , Acropolis Rally, five Circuit of Ireland victories , three Le Mans finishes , second place in the 1968 London to Sydney Rally ( losing first place because he stopped to rescue people from a crashed and burning car).
Mini went on to win the Monte Carlo again in 1965 and 1967 with other drivers at the helm.

Paddy was an incredible driver that really exemplified the Mini's rally capabilities. I'm glad I finally have a Hopkirk gas pedal, always reminds me of a what a talented driver can really do with these cars.

Nothing is as simple as we think at the beginning.

i figured replacing that worn out master cylinder fitting would've fixed the problem, although a quick test using a wedge in there would have probably shown that it was not.

I found an easier way of sorting that awkward split pin on a master cylinder clevis. First undo the master cylinder from the bulkhead, then weight the pedal down, then you can get at the pin with long nose pliers through the hole in the bulkhead., simples.

      That's a great idea!

@@limit55 It does work and is so much easier than lying on your back working upside down whilst in the most contorted position, I know, I`ve done it.
