And Here you will be able to follow my classic mini restoration from start to finish! It is an Austin Mini Mayfair 998cc registered in 1986. I bought the car with 2 months MOT and it was running although the slave cylinder had gone. My plans for the car are to restore it to my standards just like my Orange one if not even better... if thats possible. More videos on the way of the classic mini so be sure to subscribe and keep up to date.

Used to do mine with the engine in the car, I was 17 at the time, easy job, adjust on the two big nuts at the outside. Flywheel was knocked off thro the starter motor housing. I'm 69 now.

Here's a tip, too late though, assemble flywheel puller (correctly) tighten up puller bolt as much as one thinks safe. If flywheel does not come off, stop, boil a full kettle of water, pour it slowly over the flywheel. Flywheel should pop off.

did you clean the surface of the plate face before bolting it together? oily/greasy marks don't do the clutch material any good

I was yelling at you "take the centre bolt out first". If you`d done that the Halfords tool would have been fine.
did you put a new cup thing that covers the center crank bolt as i saw it sutting on the floor at the end of the video

I think i would replace the crank seal, with the engine out and clutch plate removed. perhaps you did .

Just to avoid confusion for others bro, the crank case cover is the opposite end of the engine, the casing that encloses the clutch is known as a bell housing or the 'wok'. Enjoying the vids never the less!

Clutch seal was ok? Mines shot, leaking oil out the jiggle pin, was gonna attempt this with engine in car..

not seen a mini clutch like that.... my mini different in mine. Yours looks easier what mine was to do (Morris Mini 1980 ... 1275 engine)

What about your timing marks on the flywheel
Last time someone asked me to explain leverage, I showed them a picture of a gearbox. Hey, it's the same thing in the end! :-D
What did you think holds the flywheel on to the crank?
Amateur bud, first time ever doing a clutch... not afraid to show my mistakes so others dont make the same one
Did the flywheel bolt really undo that easily? It should be torqued up to 150lbs/ft.....

You need an impact wrench
No amount of leverage will help when you fail to remove the crankshaft bolt first, no wonder you busted the tool. I just can not believe the things people do.
I'm an amateur mate, and I chose to keep my mistake in so others don't do the same, if you cant deal with this then maybe this isn't the channel for you ?
Just so you guys know, I managed to get my flywheel off with a Halfords flywheel puller fine, which was £20

Did u wreck the 1st puller because u forgot to remove the big centre bolt? or was it just so tight, ?
Forgot to remove the bolt , the cheap pullers aren't great but they do the job most of the time if the clutch assembly isn't still bolted up. Doh!

No you can run a turbo on a carb, no ECU needed.

Suggestion only to use a drop on each both - because if you ever have to replace the clutch again, those bolts will be seized and hard to get off with so much loctite. Something I learned many moons ago.

you destroyed two of nice quality tools by only not removing the center bolt and washer, you learned your lesson the hard way, next time make some homework...
