We're on a journey to fundraise a movie inspired by our friend Jay and along the way we've met some amazing people. This video series, Stories Made With Love, is an attempt to share some of their stories as we work to raise the money to tell our story... Made With Love the movie.

My son went to Clemson University and they had a special needs college students program where they live at college and take courses. My son decided to sign up to dorm with 2 special needs students helping them to live independently as a college student and getting the full experience of college. My son still this day says it was the best experience in his life to live with them and help them to have the full college experience. My son is still in contact with both of the students way after graduation 🎉

My Aunt was a Special Needs lady. My Grandmother was told to put her into an institution. She didn't. Instead she taught her life skills. When she was old enough, she went to a "regular" school. My Grandma then started volunteering at a day program. She saw people just were sitting around. She changed that. She taught them job skills. She even went to college to get a degree so she could work there. She went into the community and got businesses to hire them. She also started a program where, those that couldn't work in the businesses, had jobs assembling and packing stuff. Through her, I saw how wonderful they are. I'm so glad you put out his story. He is an absolute star! ❤❤❤❤

Your granny was an angel. Pity she didn't have wings and fly out to societies where they discard physically and mentally challenged kids like rubbish. I have seen that first hand.
I had the pleasure of having dinner with them one night while I was on vacation. Jay was funny, clever and just so charismatic. When I left the dinner I told my friend he would be great on film. He impressed me so much at that one dinner that even a month later I was telling my mom about him.
Jay seems like he would be a fun guy to hang out with.😂

Be still my heart!! I was raised with my older Aunt Joyce Ann who was also down syndrome. She was my most favorite person as a child! This melted my heart so!! Ty for trip down memory lane of this 47 yr old lady! 🌻

Lucy is who touched me the most watching this video that popped up on my feed today. More young people need to have her level of compassion and a desire to help others. The influencers of today could learn alot from Lucy.
Jay is a star, for sure! People with Down syndrome repeatedly show me that they have the purest souls on earth! I would definitely watch a movie/documentary/video with Jay and others with Down syndrome.
In 2013 my husband and I learned about a special group of toddlers with Down syndrome available for adoption for the first time from China. We adopted our daughter in 2014 and went back 11 months later for our son. Best decision we ever made.

I’m 60 years old. I remember when people did not give special needs children opportunities to grow and learn just like everybody else. Then I remember things changing and people being amazed, not only by the intelligence and capabilities of these special needs men and women, but they’re unconditional love and kindness! We could learn so much from them if we only give them a chance ❤

There actually aren't more disabled people today in the population, it's just they're not being hidden anymore and making it to adulthood in the first place. For centuries, most disabled people died in childhood because no one knew how to properly care for them or would simply abandon them. Then science and medicine caught up and they could be properly cared for but society still didn't want to see or deal with them so a lot of disabled children and adults were put in institutions, many of which were horrible places. Today, we're pushing to accept disabled people in society and disabled people have a far higher survival rate, so we're seeing them more, but they were always there
How wonderful that Jay and this family have each other. During the whole video, his good vocabulary did not contain a negative word.
Umm how sweet is his little southern accent?! This was wonderful to see. People deserve dignity and love and Jay shows us how to do that; what a remarkable family.

I'm an advocate for people with disabilities. I would love to bring this program to my home state. It would fill the needs for so many people here.

I think it's easy to judge when you don't know the situation. If they wanted you to negatively judge her, they would've given more details. I'm glad he was allowed to be with people whom he seems to feel loved by.
I have a feeling his mom was struggling to raise him and completely broken. It’s hard to raise a person with a disability, especially on your own with no support. I have a feeling this family has a lot of sympathy for his situation so they chose to not share many details regarding his mother leaving. I’m so glad they found each other
It sounds like his grandma was raising him and she got sick, and we have no idea what the struggles the mom may of been going through

I have always found that people like Jay are some of purest, kindest,most loving people out there. My husband and I are about to start our adoption journey and we are both on the same page that we would consider a child with Down syndrome.

This is beautiful we need more families like this and more parents teaching there children about specail needs and including them and excepting them i have two sons with autism one is non verbal and its so hard for them to make friends and everywhere we go people are constantly staring and looking if my sons baby babbles or acts differently

When I was a child we had a neighbor our age who was the same. I have kits of fond memories if her, she was always, always laughing and jabbing verbally with her sisters she was a truly honest and happy person❤❤
I worked with special needs children and adults for almost 3 decades. The BEST job I ever had. This story made my soul smile! Thank you for sharing this AMAZING, INSPIRING and BEAUTIFUL journey with us!!❤
I’m just crying at the purity of joy and continual love and light that emanates from Jay and his adoptive family. I’ve always thought that Down Syndrome people are just so loving. Btw I’m autistic late diagnosed and it made me feel cool that Jay wanted to be like me. Thanks Jay you are Awesome. ❤

I have a friend who is a doctor, and was my doctor for many years, he had a daughter with Downs and he told me that they, as a family, were blessed to be chosen to be the parents and family of their daughter. I believe that if you are fortunate enough to have a downs person brought into your life that you are truly blessed beyond measure ❤ I can’t wait to see this movie once it is produced, and I believe wholeheartedly that it will be! Jay you are amazing!!!
This is so beautiful, to bring another in your family as if he was your own that to me is the best ever. I would do all I could for anyone with any type of disability. I have a son who is 33 and he is ADD/ADHD and has Tourette’s syndrome and I have not met another human that has so much love to give. They make our world better ❤

This is so sweet, beautiful hearted people.
After watching this video 2 months ago, i jumped in my car and drove to a center that takes men and women with special needs to do fun, weekly activities. My family and i now volunteer our time and it's one of the most rewarding experiences in our lives. ALL because of this video right here. I'm so happy i watched this a couple months ago. Thank you.

These absolutely beautiful down syndrome children and all children with afflictions are so precious and they are so sweet and kind and giving and if we all could learn from them and love them and respect them and treat them with dignity oh my God, what a fabulous world it would be!

I just love this video! Jay is a very special boy, with so much love and kindness. There are so many young adults with disabilities and including them in our world is just what we need. I love how Jay says, he wishes he had autism. He’s a special young man and so is his family 💕💞💘
I actually never thought about it but my first positive exposure to someone with down syndrome when I was a kid Was the TV show life goes on. I think corky helped me understand at a young age that they’re just people same as anyone else looking for love and understanding.

Oh my goodness, Jay! You absolutely made me cry with happiness. Such a wonderful thing that your sister and Mama Dawn did in your life. Thank you for letting us have a glimpse into it. I have felt a strong pull ever since I was in 2nd grade to work with others with disabilities. God kept putting people in my life who needed a friend who could understand their differences. I guess it's never too late in life to pursue a career change. This video has pushed me to want to learn more about how I can work with children especially young adults with certain disabilities. In High School I had the opportunity to help mentor high schoolers with disabilities. Working and helping them changed MY way ( I was not a great student/person) I learned a lot from them. I will always cherish those memories in High School.
