Jason Lives kicks ass. You can tell the people in charge genuinely wanted to make a legit good movie and the succeeded. This was the first Jason film I ever saw and I still love it. I've met the cast, have an autographed copy of the script and even a poster. Movie is awesome and I wish we'd gotten more Friday films like it.

@@kevineasler1415 I always hated hearing in one of the documentaries for part #7's; "A New Blood " that someone(whom I believe it was a lady). -on the production didn't like the makeup effects for Jason. & even said why does he look like a turtle "??? Imo, I thought part #7's portrayal of Jason's face etc was one of the Best in the series! Not too mention all of the waterlogged decomposition detail that was put into showing the effects of being submerged for all that time.. Of which I felt was Best shown by the exposed skeletal backbones. In addition to that, I thought the makeup for part #6's Jason when he's initially dug up & has all the maggots was also Top notch!

I adore Jason Lives! I think that its the best entry for three reasons. 1: It's in my opinion the best written entry in the series. 2: You give a damn about the characters, and feel bad when they get killed. 3: Its got a good deal of levity in its usage of (dark) humor.

Fun fact: Tom McLaughlin wrote an idea for Freddy vs. Jason in 1987 which involved two mental patients being locked up, one believes Freddy is real and other thinks Jason is coming to get him. Eventually the two patients go so insane, they think they see Freddy and Jason in the building. Freddy and Jason begin working together killing all the doctors and patients, but they soon turn against each other due to lack of trust and fight each other. Who's the winner? Neither because the end twist reveals Freddy and Jason were actually the two crazy patients killing everyone and they killed each other at the same time. McLaughlin was inspired by an article he once read that was about a kid killing his mom's friend, thinking he was Jason and he wanted to make a social commentary on crazy people being influenced by killers. Real or fictional.
I love you McLaughlin, but I don't like this story at all. It could work as an original horror movie with it's commentary, but for the Freddy vs. Jason movie, you'd want the REAL Freddy to fight the REAL Jason.

This was one of my favorite in the F13 aeries. I think this is the best cast of actors in the Paramount era. I think the kids being present at the camp adds a completely different element that none of the other movies had. And I loved the Tommy/Meghan dynamic. In the climactic ending you just got a sense they really cared about one another especially when she dove into the lake after Tommy. I know Part VII was called New Blood but I wish we could have gotten more of Tommy& Meghan.

It not only gave birth to the more supernatural and comedic aspects but also to the iconic 'Hunter Jason' with his throwing knives, spear, bear traps and weapons mastery. 'Jason Lives' is my second favorite Friday the 13th movie right after "The Final Chapter'.

This is the only Fri13-movie I've seen several times, definitely in the double digits. Because it feels a lot more thought through than the others, and also because it's just so damn entertaining!

Part six is the best Friday the 13th film by far

In my opinion, part 6 is the best. This part, the 007 intro and the Alice Cooper soundtrack made Jason a pop culture icon.
I always enjoy the film and it has a great atmosphere.
The only question that still remains in my mind: Who paid for Jasons tombstone?!

One of the best of the series. A classy Friday the 13th with a perfect balance of fun and much needed humor, great acting/cast/writing, old school gothic Universal monster nods, and horror. I think it's the first Friday to look like an actual film.
Just wish the MPAA wasn't so uptight at the time. They really gutted this one and part 7 in particular.

This was the first Friday the 13th I saw as a kid as my mum recorded it for me one night. Me, my dad and my brother then went to the local video store and ended up renting all the others which disappontingly weren't a patch on this one. This one was definitely the best one as it got me into horror films.

My cousins and I watched it in a camper on a 13" (ha!) television screen on VHS. I remember this instalment the most fondly.

The spear through the window wasn't caused by the glass changing the trajectory. It was Cj Graham from being in the military followed her as she dodged it. And he followed too close.

I understand that the opening graveyard scene was meant to be a tribute to Universal Horror, in particular "Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man". There is even a sign over a gas station that says Karloff's Garage.

Also this was my introduction to Tommy Jarvis I didn't know who he was. So when I heard Corey Feldman's voice going to kill die whatever threw me off and then that's what made a bunch of kids like me want to see the other movies
