Fun fact: Tom McLaughlin wrote an idea for Freddy vs. Jason in 1987 which involved two mental patients being locked up, one believes Freddy is real and other thinks Jason is coming to get him. Eventually the two patients go so insane, they think they see Freddy and Jason in the building. Freddy and Jason begin working together killing all the doctors and patients, but they soon turn against each other due to lack of trust and fight each other. Who's the winner? Neither because the end twist reveals Freddy and Jason were actually the two crazy patients killing everyone and they killed each other at the same time. McLaughlin was inspired by an article he once read that was about a kid killing his mom's friend, thinking he was Jason and he wanted to make a social commentary on crazy people being influenced by killers. It could work as an original horror movie with it's commentary, but for the Freddy vs. Jason movie, you'd want the REAL Freddy to fight the REAL Jason.

Part VI is my favorite of the series. It’s a perfect slasher w enough self-awareness to be funny and scary. CJ Graham was perfect in his depiction of Jason. His military history brought an interesting physicality to the role. Jason being dead/undead is perfectly fitting as Jason is the personification of Death with a hockey mask instead of a skull.
The final chapter and Jason lives are the two best Friday the 13th movies. And Jason lives is definitely the most entertaining out of the entire franchise and a Bonafide classic
This is my favorite Friday The 13th movie. Although I wish so much of the violence wasn’t edited, I feel like it’s the most entertaining entry. It has a great sense of humor, talented and likable cast and excellent cinematography. Awesome and unforgettable beginning and endings in this one. It also made Jason an undead monster and turned him into a classic movie monster.
I had all the Friday the 13th films as a child (and beyond), and I always recognized that part 6 is a standout. Best ending of the franchise, imo. However, I also very much enjoyed part 5 and felt that it was special in it's own way as well. Some very creative kills, and definitely the best tiddy shots of the whole franchise! 😉 👍
I saw this on WL ny channel 55 on Long Island way back in the day this was my first ever Jason movie even edited on channel 55 still scared the s*** out of me but it was cool to see the guy from return of the living Dead so that made it better and this honestly is the birth of supernatural Jason for a generation that was not aware of one through 5% and you know not really allowed to watch those movies like you can now as a kid Jason six wasn't introduction to a generation of people that always thought he was a supernatural killer we watch two three and four he's just the beast
This is one of the better ones, along with #7. Younger kids watch these, so you need some of the comedic lines in them to break the tension. Jason lives definitely has some iconic scenes in it.
F13 part 6 and 7 are the peak of the franchise IMO. I watch them both every summer. Its criminal that they both made less money than part 5. I can't even comprehend how that's possible.
I used to stay up late as a kid to watch these on USA "Up All Night" with Gilbert Gottfried and Elvira. This was definitely one of the more fun ones to watch, and you got to see Jason without his mask again, which in the late 80s seemed like a big deal to me and my friends.
While watching all the movies as a kid, I never thought much of Jason Lives. As an adult it is hands down my favorite entry. It's completely perfect as a slasher film.

In my opinion, part 6 is the best. This part, the 007 intro and the Alice Cooper soundtrack made Jason a pop culture icon. I always enjoy the film and it has a great atmosphere. The only question that still remains in my mind: Who paid for Jasons tombstone?!
One of the best of the series. A classy Friday the 13th with a perfect balance of fun and much needed humor, great acting/cast/writing, old school gothic Universal monster nods, and horror. I think it's the first Friday to look like an actual film. Just wish the MPAA wasn't so uptight at the time. They really gutted this one and part 7 in particular.
This was the first Friday the 13th I saw as a kid as my mum recorded it for me one night. Me, my dad and my brother then went to the local video store and ended up renting all the others which disappontingly weren't a patch on this one. This one was definitely the best one as it got me into horror films.
The spear through the window wasn't caused by the glass changing the trajectory. It was Cj Graham from being in the military followed her as she dodged it. And he followed too close.
Part 5 is the most entertaining....Ethel and Junior ! "Eat your fucking slop, Junior" Pam Roberts ,smoking hot... Miguel Nunez, Mark Venturini,, "Sunny in the valley ,cloudy in the mountains , and snow flurries up your nose" !!! 80s at it's peak
I understand that the opening graveyard scene was meant to be a tribute to Universal Horror, in particular "Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man". There is even a sign over a gas station that says Karloff's Garage.
Also this was my introduction to Tommy Jarvis I didn't know who he was. So when I heard Corey Feldman's voice going to kill die whatever threw me off and then that's what made a bunch of kids like me want to see the other movies
I’m the same honestly, in that I liked the rustic charm of the early movies and human Jason felt more realistic in that you could find a creepy hermit like him in the woods
Awesome movie. Part six was my favorite plot however loved part seven Jason makeup. Cj graham and Kane hodder were equally talented regarding playing the role.

My cousins and I watched it in a camper on a 13" (ha!) television screen on VHS. I remember this instalment the most fondly.
The spear through the window wasn't caused by the glass changing the trajectory. It was Cj Graham from being in the military followed her as she dodged it. And he followed too close.
New here, like the video and all the background info. Plus, your narration is comforting. Subscribed!
Awesome, thank you!
Who doesn't have a good time when Jason Lives?
Probably an unpopular comment but Friday the 13th part 5 is actually one of my favorites in the series
I liked it too.
i love it. very few of us can get past the plot twist and enjoy it for what it is.
Jason lives is a lot of peoples favorite Jason movie.
This one and part 7 are my favorite entries…!
its probably my favorite one by far, even more than the first 4
It's easily one of the best sequels
Part 5 is the most entertaining....Ethel and Junior ! "Eat your fucking slop, Junior"
Pam Roberts ,smoking hot...
Miguel Nunez, Mark Venturini,,
"Sunny in the valley ,cloudy in the mountains , and snow flurries up your nose" !!! 80s at it's peak
Will always be my favorite. Still remember watching it in theaters.
I understand that the opening graveyard scene was meant to be a tribute to Universal Horror, in particular "Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man". There is even a sign over a gas station that says Karloff's Garage.
Having F13th explained to me by Norm Macdonald is pretty great
Also this was my introduction to Tommy Jarvis I didn't know who he was. So when I heard Corey Feldman's voice going to kill die whatever threw me off and then that's what made a bunch of kids like me want to see the other movies
That was the best one in the entire series.
Is "The man behind the mask" the greatest slasher movie song? I think so.
Better than Dream Warriors? 😱
@@ahahahaha496 Dream Warriors is a great one too. Alice Cooper gives 'Man Behind the Mask' the edge.
Over the last few years it has jumped over part IV and become my favorite in the franchise.
The film that brought me into the franchise, courtesy of a used VHS from a closing video store. It'll always be special to me.
The trailer alone is Awesome..JASON LIVES!
There horro movie breakdowns are well done. I randomly stumbled across this channel and I am checking out all the episodes
Loved this movie as a kid and still enjoy it. Really enjoyed parts 3 and 7 too. Great video. 💯👏🏽
This is my favorite out of the series 😁
Jason Lives and Part 3 are easily the best of the bunch. I love them both.
Though I prefer human Jason; Jason Lives is my favorite entry in the franchise.
Love this one! Had no idea we almost got a Cheech and Chong v. Jason! I'm ready for that!
6 is my 3rd favorite movie X is my favorite then 4 followed by 6 , 7 then 5 for my top 5
