  • Ten years after Honda made this amazing machine, I found one with 144 miles! Having owned two F6Bs prior that didn't survive sperate accidents, I splurged and built out my dream motorcycle with an assortment of customized accessories. This video was made to share my passion with other Goldwing riders and offer perspectives and visuals that I hope are useful. I know watching other rider's videos and instructional advise has helped me tremendously. There are few things more enjoyable than my annual ten-day ride with one of my best friends, who also has a F6B. These motorcycles provide so much joy and we seem to appreciate them more with every turn. No better hobby!

First off, I think everyone who watches this has an F6B. Or will.
Why are you out of breath for the entire video? You obviously have a big boner about your bike.
I have most of the same mods, but mine is a 2013, so I started early, and some of yours are more advanced...For instance, I have HID headlights before LED was widely available.
I also did a full Progressive Suspension upgrade front and rear.
Wheel balancers seem weird and unnecessary. Get tires balanced correctly at installation, they don't last long anyway...
I would upgrade exhaust if it made any power difference but it doesn't.
Really like the backrest setup. So you are saying that the stock backrest fits into the Ultima seat? Or it is mounted in the stock bracket? Looks a lot cleaner than the ones I have seen... Also, where did you get the backrest extensions?
So, very nice bike, only thing I would add is I didn't like having round lights in the square fog light holes, so I found some square LED fog lights which have LED running lights. Maybe at Wingstuff?
3rd F6B? Hope you don't crash this one...
Also, for the money you spent, you're a long way toward the new Wing model... ? I have found that guys like you wind up selling the bike sooner than later...It will be interesting to see how this works out for you...

Thanks for the lengthy comment and feedback. I can talk F6Bs all day long. I look back at when I made this video and I suppose I was a bit nervous, thus the breathing. I had written down most of the parts on a piece of paper while I filmed and tried to cover everything. It was a little nerve wrecking but I wanted to put something out before I added to the 144 miles it came with. I should probably do another video as I missed several things and perhaps pick a sunny day without wind. I now have close to 10K miles on it after a trip to the Appalachians and Ozarks in the spring, Montana in the summer and off to the Sierras in two weeks. The prior owner already had the TBR pipes with torque loops. It sounds fairly aggressive, but not obnoxious. I've gotten used to the growl after logging some miles on it but my wife would prefer I find some stock pipes. The one significant thing that I've added since the video is the KT MOTO headlight assembly. I had all kinds of issues with a bad wiring harness but finally had the China manufacturer send me an updated harness that works fine. Taking the fairing off is not easy task but I finally got it done and the F6B looks better than ever and the final touch on my dream bike. As for selling it or finding a bike that's better....not in a million years. If someone gave me $50K to buy any bike I wanted, it would be a 2013 or 2014 black F6B. I like the larger fairing and how this bike fits me. I have it so dialed in, I can't find anything I like more. In fact, I look weekly for another one that I may sock away. I don't think I will ever find a pristine 13 or 14 that's new like the one I found but I have my eyes on a couple with 5000 miles on them. Yes, it's a total passion of mine and like you, these bikes bring so much joy. I like maintaining and polishing it as much as I like push it hard on every road worth riding in the US. As for the passenger back rest, I took it apart (very easy) and redrilled four holes to move the seat up about one inch. Then, I went to the hardware store and found one inch stainless sleeves to cover the longer bolts. It worked perfectly and maintained the strength and integrity of the backrest. Sadly, the Ultimate passenger backrest that I paid another $150 for when I got the seat, is not being used. I didn't like how it looked compared to what I did with the original back rest. By the way, I really like the driver's backrest that Ultimate makes. I love how it easily slides on and off as I only use it for long rides and don't use it when I drive around town. Hope this reply helps. I'd love to see pictures of your bike and learn all the mods you like and the ones that didn't work as well as you hoped. Last, the round fog lights have grown on me. The quality of the lights are very high and better than I was expecting. Yes, I wish they were more square and fit the frame but it wasn't worth replacing a high quality light that matches my whole lighting package with a lower quality light that fits the frame. These fog lights were put in prior to me purchasing the F6B,

Continuing from the previous post ( I was cut off when the video ended) The B is the most under appreciated bikes ever made. To get one with such low miles is a score. At 63 this will be my last ride, no need to change. You have certainly outfitted her in a big way, customizing, as you did, to tweak her exactly to your likes. Many safe miles

Killer ride. My father still rides his F6B at 80 years old. Can you add the list of accessories and/or links to the video description? The wind noise made a couple of them hard to hear.

Beautiful, pristine B. I had a 2013 Black, which was totaled, refueled with a 2016 Pearl White. White is nice but the black pops. Those TBR's create an incredible rumble, eventually, I'll put another set on the current B. The B

Thanks for the compliment. I love the black as well but I'm sure you are enjoying that Cruise Control on your 2016. It's crazy that Honda didn't put the Cruise Control on the 2013 and 2014 but I guess it made the last two years that much more desirable. I'm guessing some marketing guy came up with that idea.

@@andrewe2425 I'm guessing rushing it to the market was the reason for not putting it on. I did wind up using the after market KAOKO cruise control on the 2013 which, after a little learning curve, wound up to be perfect.

Very kind of you to say. Get an F6B as fast as you can. Your life will never be the same and you'll never sell it. They will never make bikes like this again so grab a clean one and don't let go!

Quality appointments. Your bike looks fantastic! Well maintained. The way a motorcycle should be presented at all times. Says a-lot about the owner too. Nice job.

    She's a beauty!
Years ago I wanted to upgrade the stereo on my GW, but just couldn't get the bass I wanted without an amp and subwoofer. Since I wasn't willing give up luggage capacity I reluctantly upgraded helmet speakers for my Sena and play music on my phone via Bluetooth and it works fine. I also have the cubby, and it comes in handy, but the drink holder fits just 16oz water bottles. Also put on Baker Air Wings and they work great. Kinda wish I did Traxxion Dynamics years ago, but the bike is 10 now.
I own a 2014 Audio Comfort XM Nav tour--same black/black frame & wheels as you. I never needed the seat replaced, but I did add a Utopia backrest and a Hartco passenger backrest that increases the incline by 10°for my wife. I can ride over 500 miles/day so I figure there's no need to spring for an Ultimate seat. I also added all SoCal LEDs with their Switchback turn lights--they're white & turn amber when signaling. The rears also modulate when braking, but best of all they're bright.
Have a great riding season and thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the input and thoughts Ron. I'm curious, can you tell me more about your upgraded speakers for your Sena system? I just purchased a Shoei helmet with an integrated Sena system and I'd be very interested in upgrading my speakers within the helmet for Bluetooth play.

About how many miles did you get on the Shinkos? I’m needing tires and getting sticker shock!

    • @andrewe2425
      @andrewe2425  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I've only gone through one set in my prior bike. At the time, my tires were balanced by weights and not the Centramatic wheel balancers. I got about 6000 miles and they performed quite well. I dive quite aggressively with lots and lots of turns. I'm hoping my second set of tires will get another 2-3000 miles with the Centramatic balancers. Like you, I'm tired of spending so much on tires and have been impressed, thus far, with the Shinkos. It may seem ironic with the amount of money I spent building this bike but 6000 miles come and goes too quickly and I feel the pain each time my tires need replacing.
