Brilliant idea Robert. Brass must look great. I'm going to steal your idea. I'm thinking a nice Gibson Les Paul tone knob for my F6b cut off key. Thanks for the idea!
I've seen a lot of people do this one but to me you run the risk of leaving it in and leaving the key in along with access to the saddlebags. Not to mention if you take that key out now you've got to handle two or more separate keys in your pocket as I have seen people use this for the gas key and the glove box key as well.
Interesting thing you said about your lights, that could be a very nice safety feature ,no oil pressure,no head light!!! So you blew your low beam or are about to blow your motor!!
LED headlights are the way to go now. I just installed one in my Valkyrie and you can get a tan off of it... I really like the f6b, more room than a Goldwing for the driver. (front to back)
Hi Terry, I am very proud of you and and Barry. Go carfully and enjoy for years and years. I presume to include "Stormy" in these comments. Yasher koach always! Hillel
Thank you for the kind words. I sold the F6B back in November of 2020. I only miss the effortless highway power. It's been replaced with a '20 Honda NC750X DCT. Much better all around bike that does everything well, but nothing exceptional.
great job, great upgrades brother, i'd like 2buy the bike from you when possible lol, wldv been nice to hear price details tho on some of them like the highway pegs?
tcalof, thank you for sharing your awesome ideas about your great looking bike.. I'm in the process of saving to purchase exactly this bike except maybe different year. I'm inspired about what you did to your bike and I will be doing the same thing once I get mine.
I just bought a 2015 F6B and now have to part with my beloved 98 Valkyrie. How much of the key did you cut off to prevent that key working in your ignition but still open everything else? I like that idea. Here's another idea for you. The Smart Turn System, self cancelling turn signals. I installed it on the Valkyrie and it's great. It detects inclination, acceleration and heading and cancels the turn signal after a full turn, lane change or round about exit. I'll be installing one on the F6B shortly. BTW, all your videos are great and really helped with panel removal and accessing wiring etc.. Thanks!
I cut the key off about 0.5" above the end of the fluting. That left about 0.25 " to embed into the epoxy inside the radio knob. I'm glad my videos were a help to you working on your F6B.
+Jimo368 Thank you. Yes, the stock seat is just fine for me. I'm 6'2" with a 33" inseam, and the rider's triangle is perfect on the F6B for me. Not bar/peg/seat issues.
The garage door button is a just a 2 wire, normally open switch. Pressing the button completes the circuit (closes the switch). I opened up my garage door opener, and unsoldered the wires going to the opener's switch operated by the push bar on the switch. I then soldered the new push button wires to those 2 unsoldered wires in the opener. It doesn't matter which wire goes to the PB switch wires. If you don't know anything about printed circuit boards or soldering, then you likely won't know how to do this. In that case, get an expert on soldering and electronics to give you a hand.
@@tcalof I get that completely. I haven't opened that side of the farring for anything yet and is a great placement. Well thought out for your upgrades - that's important too :)
+Lee Miller Thank you. I am continually trying to make my bike perfect for me. I'm getting closer. The Baggershield is gone now, replaced by a Madstad. The HID bulbs are gone; poor choice. I've added LED auxiliary driving lights, with a new video to come in the Spring.
I assume you're in Canada? If so, IMHO I wouldn't pay any more than $13k, when new '16's with factory cruise can be had for $20k. And remember, accessories are worth nothing on the value of a used bike.
Hi my name is Pierce I’ve just come across your video on TH-cam. Where did you get your gear indicator and your voltage meter thanks and keep them coming what I forgot to say is that I live in Ireland 🇮🇪
Hi Pierce. From memory (10 years ago) the gear indicator was from Healtech and the voltmeter was a 12V waterproof marine 52 mm diameter with red backlighting unit from eBay. Sorry, but that's all the info I can give you. I sold the bike in 2020.
Hello TCalof. I would like to know if the one you have installed in your Goldwing is the same for the Goldwing of 2001. Indicator of digital gear and accelerator of speed, and what is the model that you are using, because I really like the one you are using in the motorcycle . Sincerely Rafael.
Thanks Joe. My passenger backrest extension was purchased Canada from Ultimate seats, here: ultimateseats.ca/honda-motorcycle-accessories/f6b-seats/18140-D-BO Also available from the US website of Ultimate Seats
You ditched the belly pan for coolant overflow armor. Was the pan not a good plan? I just bought a '13 F6b last week, and want to get the accessories right the first time around, if possible. I like a lot of your mods, especially the brake light strobe for safety's sake. Smart. The gear indicator will save me countless (phantom) upshift attempts, I'm sure. I understand the fork brace is a good idea. Just need an aftercooler for my credit card....
The belly pan interfered with my ground clearance. Going over my driveway lip scraped the pan. Also, it was a PITA to remove the pan for every oil change. I have an oil filter protector in addition to the armoured coolant overflow.
Nice bike man. Just wondering how tall are you? I like those highway pegs but I'm wondering how comfortable they are for you. I'm 6'2" and I have a goldwing. Just looking to stretch out some without to much going on as far as looks are concerned.
These definitely seem to be the best highway pegs out there. However, I have found with the width of the engine getting my legs around it is simply not comfortable so I go without highway pegs.
+Mohi Sadegh Yes, all were purchased online. I'm in Canada, and everything was bought in the US when the Cdn dollar was at a good exchange rate. Now I would buy everything in Canada. My suggestion is to Google the parts, find your best price, and go from there. Where I bought my parts in 2014 may not be the best (cheapest) place to buy them now.
+cale templeton This is the backrest that's currently on the bike: Show Chrome (Big Bike Parts) Smart Mount Passenger - 52-838. It can only be used with the Showchrome rack that I have.
For me, 5 was just fine. The new 'Wings with 6 drop the cruising rpm down by about 400 rpm IIRC. With the 5 speed, highway passing is just twist and go, no need for a downshift. The '14 -17 'Wings have the updated 5 speed. Less clunky and smoother shifting than the '13's and older.
I'm in Canada, but bought it from cyclemax.com I have since replaced that Showchrome rack in the video with a bikemp3 rack from cyclemax. The Showchrome was a PITA to take off in conjunction with the passenger backrest for bike servicing.

tcalof Thank you very much! Do you still have the same bike? I just bought the 2013 black Deluxe F6B last Wednesday. I would love to see what you have on it now. Thanks again.
Theo Aftonomos I agree. The light pattern has no cut-off, and is all over the place. The only good thing I have to say about them is that the 6K color sure makes me visible to cagers during the day. I have adjusted the low beams down as far as they will go. I don't get flashed at night anymore. If I go to 4300K bulbs I think they'll be more acceptable.
Theo Aftonomos Maybe. Of course major surgery would be needed on the housing, and I don't have the initiative to try that. I do have a set of 2300 lumen LED's ready to try. But I'll wait for winter layup when I will tear into the bike to do a few other things.
I love the idea of the "cut off key" in the rear saddle bag lock. I borrowed that idea, but used Metal Brass Guitar knob. Love the way it looks...
Brilliant idea Robert. Brass must look great. I'm going to steal your idea. I'm thinking a nice Gibson Les Paul tone knob for my F6b cut off key. Thanks for the idea!

Wow this great! I used to own a ‘17 Valkyrie and I sure could have used this video! Great job!
Clever upgrades and clean installation. Nice job!
Thank you for the kind words.
I did like how most all the upgrades are stealth..great job and thanks for some ideas.
Thanks for the info. I really like the fork brace and tube protectors.
Now that’s some cool and worthy additions.
Interesting thing you said about your lights, that could be a very nice safety feature ,no oil pressure,no head light!!! So you blew your low beam or are about to blow your motor!!

I like the digital gear indicator in the speaker grill neat idea
Hi Terry, I am very proud of you and and Barry. Go carfully and enjoy for years and years. I presume to include "Stormy" in these comments. Yasher koach always! Hillel
Awesome up grades . Enjoyed your video and well explained. 👍🏻
what are cons/pros with going 'darkside', replacing rear tire w/car tire? bike looks!great, great job!
Really Nice! Love the improvements you made.
Thanks for your kind words.
Nice bike mate! I love the sound they make too, unlike any other bike I've heard.
Really nice work. Functional and classy mods. You should go work at Honda.
Thank you for the kind words. I sold the F6B back in November of 2020. I only miss the effortless highway power. It's been replaced with a '20 Honda NC750X DCT. Much better all around bike that does everything well, but nothing exceptional.

Honda shuld hire u.really really great job
Thank you for the kind words, Oliver.
Great video. Nice job 👍
You must be happy with the stock seat because you havn't changed it. Nice job on the accessories
+Jimo368 Thank you. Yes, the stock seat is just fine for me. I'm 6'2" with a 33" inseam, and the rider's triangle is perfect on the F6B for me. Not bar/peg/seat issues.
Very nice upgrades, can you tell us a bit about the garage door button and how it's wired?

well.... i can't wait!! Keep up the good work.
tcalof what do you think a 2013 with 7000 kilometers would be worth?
I assume you're in Canada? If so, IMHO I wouldn't pay any more than $13k, when new '16's with factory cruise can be had for $20k. And remember, accessories are worth nothing on the value of a used bike.
tcalof unfortunately I can only find 2 used for sale in Canada. Anybody have any leads?
Awesome bike , nice add-ons and great job on the vid , I'm hoping to get the same bike soon
1934rod I hope you'll enjoy the F6B as much as I do!
Awesome job bike looks great

Nice bike thanks for the video. Just got one my self you give me a couple of points
What an awesome bike. Your add ons are amazing. Excellent video! Do you miss the silver wing Bigbird? Probably not :)
Gone Biking Thank you very much for the kind words.
To be blunt, I don't miss the Silverwing in the least.
Hello TCalof. I would like to know if the one you have installed in your Goldwing is the same for the Goldwing of 2001. Indicator of digital gear and accelerator of speed, and what is the model that you are using, because I really like the one you are using in the motorcycle . Sincerely Rafael.
great video, where did you get the center stand from
Dealer installed, genuine Honda accessory.
Where did you get your voltmeter? And how do you have yours hook up?
Hey brother, excellent video. It looks like you have a passenger backrest extender on there... If so which one is it and/or what do you recommend?
Thanks Joe. My passenger backrest extension was purchased Canada from Ultimate seats, here:

love the bike, i want the f6b

Did you install the passengers back rest? I also have the standard version.
A "Thumbs Up" .. for just the disclaimer! Thanks for the warning! :)
Wow, Your Bike is Very Good.
I'm looking for Gear Indicator.
Where I can buy Gear Indicator?
Healtech is the manufacturer. Go to their website and find a dealer in your location.
tcalof Thank you so much.
Thank you got it book marked.
I just added the utopia drivers back rest. Where did you buy the windshield?
+cale templeton I bought it in Canada from twistedthrottle.ca
Nice bike man. Just wondering how tall are you? I like those highway pegs but I'm wondering how comfortable they are for you. I'm 6'2" and I have a goldwing. Just looking to stretch out some without to much going on as far as looks are concerned.
These definitely seem to be the best highway pegs out there. However, I have found with the width of the engine getting my legs around it is simply not comfortable so I go without highway pegs.
did you bought from online stores?? if yes please put some links in descriptions tnx
+tcalof alright tnx for ur advise
+Mohi Sadegh Is there any specific accessory you want info for?
+tcalof yup,, passenger footage is amazing im looking for that
+Mohi Sadegh Those are Kuryakyn 7006 transformer floorboards. Price is around $US 250.
Did I hear you right. You said there is NO deluxe modals in Canada? So you insr
+cale templeton Correct, no Deluxe F6B in Canada. I installed the passenger back rest and centre.
Thank you and stay safe
Lloyd Tompkins You're welcome, and right back at ya'
Hi again. What type is your passenger back rest? It looks after market.
+cale templeton This is the backrest that's currently on the bike: Show Chrome (Big Bike Parts) Smart Mount Passenger - 52-838. It can only be used with the Showchrome rack that I have.
Nice bike! Do you think this bike could use 6 gears or does 5 work out well enough?
For me, 5 was just fine. The new 'Wings with 6 drop the cruising rpm down by about 400 rpm IIRC. With the 5 speed, highway passing is just twist and go, no need for a downshift. The '14 -17 'Wings have the updated 5 speed. Less clunky and smoother shifting than the '13's and older.
Thanks for your insight. You do have a nice bike.
Excellent!
Hi! Can you tell me what the cruise control system is ( tempomat ) ? Thanks !
It's a throttle lock made by Brakeaway
One more question. How tall are they? Lots to choose from on there web page.
Thanks for the information.
The ones I linked to are 5" long. You can cut them to length with a strong scissors if you want.
Noj new fork protecters, where did you buy them from?
eBay: www.ebay.ca/itm/Neoprene-Motorcycle-Fork-Guards-Made-in-Minneapolis-by-NOJ-Gear-USA-/181225256196
Where did you buy the windshield from? How much was it. Thanks.
+cale templeton I'm in Canada. I bought it from www.twistedthrottle.ca It was just over $300 Cdn.
Question - Where did you purchase the luggage rack from? Kurakyn? Thanks!
I'm in Canada, but bought it from cyclemax.com
I have since replaced that Showchrome rack in the video with a bikemp3 rack from cyclemax. The Showchrome was a PITA to take off in conjunction with the passenger backrest for bike servicing.
Where did you get the passenger back rest from?
I'm going to say it was from Big Bike Parts, but that was 8 years ago, and my receipts and the bike are both long gone.
Hey thanks.
where'd ya get that throttle lock,,,, me likeee

Have anybody added a turbo to a f6b goldwing yet I will like to know I wood like to get my f6b goldwing turbo .
Can you please send me the link to your breakaway throttle lock? Thanks.

tcalof Thank you very much! Do you still have the same bike? I just bought the 2013 black Deluxe F6B last Wednesday. I would love to see what you have on it now.
Thanks again.
Hi Amin. Yes, I still own the bike. A few changes: Check my other videos for updated add-ons.
Go to wingstuff.com for some ideas
Installation easy?
+cale templeton For me, yeah.
+tcalof For you, yeah, if you have a service manual.
nice mods
Hid in halogen housings = bleh.
Other than that thumbs up

I have adjusted the low beams down as far as they will go. I don't get flashed at night anymore. If I go to 4300K bulbs I think they'll be more acceptable.
Is there room to retrofit a HID projector? Looks like a pretty large housing but how deep is it?
Theo Aftonomos Maybe. Of course major surgery would be needed on the housing, and I don't have the initiative to try that. I do have a set of 2300 lumen LED's ready to try. But I'll wait for winter layup when I will tear into the bike to do a few other things.
