Getting an office is SUCH a good idea. As someone who did online classes, the ritual of getting up, getting ready, and heading to a 'somewhere' is what gets my mind ready to learn and put in the effort. I wish I thought of that!
It sounds silly, but last semester I would get ready, take a travel mug of tea, and go for a short walk or drive (depending on weather) before coming back to my desk to work. It was a nice little ritual that reminded me of being on campus. I also cleared my desk completely when I wasn't using it, which helped me focus on one class at a time.
My dad has a side hustle where he buys and sells instruments, and usually, I help him out by being the one that drives the packages to the post office. I LOVE Harvard Online. I cannot afford to be in Boston. I lived in the city for a summer, and that was enough. The communication with the fellow students is very enlightening and helpful. Perhaps math or science are not as good online. However, education classes are very good online.
Been on my internship for 16 months. Been away fron school for a while like ur self and am excited to return. Hopefully, online doesnt prevent me from learning :p
Good going! Yeah the uncertainty of online classes can be hard for sure, but from my experiences, you get plenty of social interaction with your teammates. You can set up Slack or Microsoft Teams to talk to class mates about the assignments or just the topics in general, help each other on homework and even do live videos with them as I've done at my grad school, all while still having the freedom to do what you need to do personally. The only issue really is that scheduling meetings is a lot "harder" because you generally won't know when someone will be online outside of hours and an e-mail or campus message board is the only way you can reach them, but with everyone being online, you'll find that you'll always get relatively quick turnaround for your responses and it's a lot less stressful since you can read other student's responses, and have more time to think about your questions before you ask them, and private 1on1 is a lot easier on slack or zoom since you don't need to corral into a tiny room, you can do the meeting at any time (some of my meetings went well into the night or early in the morning shortly after waking up. You're at home so it's ultra flexible). The office idea is a very good one. I imagine it's cheaper than renting a full apt for your own personal space and definitely a good idea during this pandemic time. Plus when you're at home, the distractions will get to you even if you are at your apt, but when you are in an office away from your personal work station, you can't be tempted as easily and can focus on your lessons/work a lot easier. Still it's good to just get the degree over with. I know finances is a massive hurdle and thankfully they are offering financial aid, but the sooner you get the degree, the sooner you can start nailing some really solid jobs. Time lost is time wasted and as my uncle told me, "If they want you now, they'll DEFINITELY want you after your degree." That's negotiating power for a much higher salary and position.
I took Abnormal Psychology and I loved it ! It wasn’t a bunch of studying for tests it was more case studies and reports which I much rather do over a test!
I'm doing the same thing. Since, everything is online, my application for returning student is still in progress. I was late applying for Fall semester, so, it will have to be Spring. You won't believe how long I have been out of school. I've working fulltime so, I it was always an issue. In order to take courses at U of T, for example, I would have to take permission from Windsor. When I found out that everyone is now online, I thought I'd finish my degree. So, I'm computer science thirrd year. I don't need any financial aid which makes things easier. Let us know what u r taking this semster. Your office-renting idea is pretty good.
I definitely agree in alot of parts. At the month of may I finished my first year of uni and after that things aren't quite under control or even in grasp as my uni did provide summer courses but without any financial aid that's why I couldn't join in. But most probably university is planning to academically reopen at Sept and I am finally feeling things under control!
Good luck with the new office, I think it is a neat idea! Also, Jules Verne knew how to write. I read it in Junior High and absolutely loved it, makes you want to actually go to the center of the earth! Hahaha Best wishes 🙋

Good luck dude 💞
Nice to know you're back finishing your degree :)
I took Abnormal Psychology and I loved it ! It wasn’t a bunch of studying for tests it was more case studies and reports which I much rather do over a test!
So happy you're back :)
Awesome. Glad to know you are back in Harvard
Glad you kept going. You'll thank yourself in 2 years.

With the help of Mr Peter Roland,I was able to make my first profit today as promised by him..$19,000usd
Congrats!
Hahaha
Best wishes 🙋
Comecei a assistir seus vídeos por causa da legenda em português, mas agora não aparecem mais. 😓
Mas assisto assim mesmo. Não entendo nada, mas assisto hahaha (e me ajuda a praticar meu inglês) 🥰

John -- have you read Harvard professor Michael J. Sandel's "The Tyranny of Merit"? Reminds me of "Moral Tribes". It might come up in the ethics course you mentioned. Will review it myself soon.
