Awesome tips and insights. I was just about to order the bags from IC. You saved me the headache of ever experiencing a leaking 'insulated' bag. You definitely earned a new subscriber today!
Thanks for this great comparison, I’ve looked this up for a different reason (fishing) and the logic also applies to that. All the great product recommandation is very useful. Thank you so much!
I would just like to remind you that not using at least some sort of insulated bags is a violation of your independent contractor agreement. All it takes is one customer to complain and you are deactivated.
I can't afford the expensive max cool so bought 2 regular 50qt igloo coolers for $25 each(no wheels so bought a cheap pallet cart) Figured once orders picked up and the pay justifies spend more on better coolers id buy the max cool or better. While many appreciated the coolers some still complained about thier icecream starting to melt.😅 im sorry ladies the temp is in the high 90s my coolers can only do so much. With that said do you have any other recommendations for keeping ice-cream frozen? I dont get many orders so I keep all my ice blocks in one insulated bag and had even placed a customers icecream in the bag with my blocks and still received a complaint for the ice-cream. Ive also had kept a popsicle in it for the hot days im waiting hrs for orders and still itll be melted and i even had the bag zipped closed and inside the cooler for extra protection. Wondering if there is a solution besides buying actual ice to pack it all in and hope customers dont complain about their bags being wet.
@@dragonext2001 You're doing the best you can and that's great that you care. I got my ice packs at Publix, that's the best and cheapest place to get them. I'm going my fourth summer with them and they hold up well, definitely worth the small expense. Another thing to consider, freeze water bottles. I keep a few frozen water bottles with me also in case I need to use my insulated bags for overflow cold items. Frozen water bottles can last a good while and I keep quite a few on hand during hurricane season. It helps a couple years ago during Hurricane Sally. As far as ice cream, there's not much you can do except dry ice. Ice cream has a very low tolerance level for anything above zero degrees, so the disadvantage begins the moment you take it out of the freezer. But here's a couple things I do to help mitigate quality problems: - I pick ice cream as the very last items before I go to checkout. On Instacart, the customer can see what items you have picked and if they see ice cream as the last item you grab, that looks good on you. - Bag your own groceries, every time. If I have other frozen items, I pack the ice cream and the hardest frozen items together. That will help buy some time. - Load the cold stuff into your coolers first. - When leaving groceries at the door, do your best to keep the cold item bags out the sun. If you meet the customer at the door, have a friendly chat. Tell them you took special care with their ice cream explaining you kept in a cooler with ice packs, that makes them happy because it shows you do care. It paid off again for me big time this past weekend as I ended up sitting and waiting 30 minutes for a customer to arrive in town. Hope that helps!
I had a similar experience. The customer ordered ice cream and when I pulled out the cooler bag he was so happy. apparently, he had experience with melted ice cream. This resulted in a higher tip and 5-star rating.
Great idea with the coolers! I have two sitting around downstairs.. I am going to clean them up and use them.. Get me some ice packs too! I've been using mainly insulated bags but sometimes I worry about the ice cream when the customer lives further away. Thanks! I wish we had a Publix, etc here in Colorado..
It saved me again yesterday. Had a triple order batch and guess which one had the ice cream. I sent Customer C a message that I had two deliveries ahead of her but not to worry that everything was in my cooler with ice packs. Showed up to the house and the customer was happy.
Love this idea! I'm going to try and fit a cooler in my Honda Fit. I always worry the insulated bags are going to crush things. Jen On the Go recommended you by the way.
hmmm well, tbh that's an owner problem.... Walmart has those Reg threaded cotton bags now.. Canada is going into its colder season, so if I have icecream.. it won't melt... but warm food will get cold... ppl have microwaves for that!
Exactly the information I was looking for. I appreciate that you made this video!
I just started and i was weary about the IC bags that they offered. Thank you so much!
I got my 45L igloo cooler approved!!!🎉
Great video! Thanks!!
Excellent video!! Thanks Brian

I don't use either and I never have any issues probably because I just pack all the cold stuff with the frozen stuff

I put all of the bags into bins and I also have insulated bags I can put on top if I need them
❤
Thanks so much for the great video!

On a side note where did you buy your ice blocks? I don't see any those sizes at academy sports.

They also have the same ice packs at Walmart..I believe they were inexpensive there as well.
I’m also a 15 month shopper.

Awesome, thank you!
What do you do if the owner isn’t home? Do you have separate bags you leave with the items?
Good question Jenna! I keep the insulated bags because usually the customer is on their way home and a few minutes won't hurt things.

I was told Instacart doesn't allow you to use those type of coolers. I have no idea why though.
Now I got to get a cooler. Thanks lol!!
No seriously thanks. 😉
Thank you!
