- Thanks for joining us for another Real Video, the Real Review this time featuring the 2013 Ford Explorer Sport. The Sport crowns the top of the Ford Explorer model line up for 2013. Your eyes are not playing tricks on you, the Sport designation returns as new for 2013 and it has the "in" look of gloss black accents all around the vehicle. The only shiny chrome bits are the door handles and some window trim. Then there are the 20" machined wheels with black painted inserts. We covered the Real First Impressions ( • Real First Impressions... ) early this year and thought this vehicle gives quite the aggressive look to the Explorer family.

I ordered my 2013 Sport in December and picked it up March 1st. Loaded Tuxedo black. I love this vehicle so much... nice daily driver, good family vehicle, and I think it would keep up with my GTO when it was stock. NICE CAR! A lot for your money!
I can not believe you have only so little views.. you do the job better than any of the famous channels + you put no ego in your reports - you just tell totally everything about the car without no stupid jokes.. well done man, hope you'll get more views and famous soon!

@VMATT500C, I wouldn't say it is harsh or busy. The Sport, with the larger wheels and the sports tuned suspension is firmer than the regular model. However, it does not have the wobbly feeling previous generations did. For a sports package, it rode well and carried 4-6 people with mostly positive feedback.

This is a tough one. The Explorer is probably better on long hauls because of the wider seating area and more cargo capacity. Very different price points depending on the features you are looking for too.

@MacMike1000, thanks for the comment. I guess that is the funny thing...combined experience with typography, type setting and on screen visual presentation in the Real Auto Report family totals over 50 years. The font is the chosen brand font, but there is always room for change.

Thanks for a great review. One question: if you had to take a cross-country trip, would you select this 2013 Ford Explorer Sport or the 2013 Ford Escape? Wondering which would be more comfortable for long trips as I have read some negative comments about the Escape's seats.

Question for the owners, I just changed my BMW X6 to a Ford Explorer Sport ecoboost 2015 and my consumption is way to much compared to what they claim. I'm quiet disappointed, I get around 25l/100km while i was getting 17l to 18l/100km with the same driving in my X6. I have around 200KM on it now, and i'm telling you, It's sucks the GAS. It's far away from what they claim 14.9l/100km my ass.
What do you guys get for the consumtion ? I heard some saying that the consumption should stabilize after 8000 km. How true their saying ?
I wonder the chances of the guy getting blindsided by trying to look at the camera more than the road?!

indeed, i cannot get over the range rover reliability. and this thing is hot.
I would like to wait until it comes with 8 speed transmission & weight reduction to help with its fuel economy. Maybe LED running lights too.. until then i will hang on to my 2008 High
Being an SUV sport I figure I wouldn't need great handling. It's top heavy as is, corner to hard in any SUV and you'll notice handling issues.
My mom has this model with all the premium features and it's better then the 2012 ml she had
If you are critiquing professionalism on TH-cam videos (which is a silly thing to do), there's plenty other videos that need help LONG before this one! I have education and experience in that field by the way.
