      STS Telecom how much would you charge to replace a nand on a iPhone X or just replace the logic board? I just got a iPhone X in that I ordered off of eBay and it is iCloud locked and I guess flagged by Verizon!!! I’m out 400$ now and just have a very nice paper weight! So I would like to get it fixed and working! I have fixed a bunch of iPhones but I don’t have the tools or skills to micro solder let alone know what I’m doing replacing chips on the board! If I change the board with one that’s not iCloud locked it should fire right up right? I love your videos man! Your a beast at what you do!

    Appreciate the longer form video. It gives one the total amount of time required to effect the 2 processes. I think what would be useful if there were additional pins that you could screw down or simply friction fit over the existing pins when realigning the boards during reassembly two align the two halves. During disassembly these additional guiding pins are not used and can be removed so that the 2 halves of the board can be flipped apart ideally.

    I think the jig needs removable alignment pins. I would want to be able to align the two boards, but then remove or retract the pins so that the top board can "self correct" when it begins to float.

  • @tombez3638
    @tombez3638 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi. I think this jig to assemble this pcb together must have longer pins also they should have thread in and a little screws with soft springs attached to it ,to push top board down when solder is melted. This should help a lot. Anyway great video.

  • @didoriginal
    @didoriginal 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great video. You should try contacting the original owner and ask him to remove the iCloud lock to this board, I believe that you can see the full e-mail address as the phone is not yet locked or wiped.

    I love your videos, I enjoy watching you are humble person, the wey you explain things is so beautiful, but I have a recommendation for you!
    You have I socket which costs around 200$ but you are reballing you motherboard with iron solder and not buying 3$ BGA reballing stencil, It was pain watching you reballing like that.
    I love your videos man,

    The deflection you're seeing in the board is likely just the result of the bottom being warmer than the top side. If so, the trick is to make sure the entire board is the same temp, especially when the solder solidifies. Maybe make a small insulated box/ cover to set the board in as it is heating and cooling?

    Just Out of curiosity coulndt you instead of going with the iron on al the pads Just remove the solder with wick and reball with a stencill ?

    • @ststele
      @ststele  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes but sometime after I recorded this video, I learned that there are tiny spacers between the board sections. I carelessly wisk them away in this video. :-O I really need to make a new video. Every since I learned about the spacers, I try to make certain not to disturb the factory alloy when separating the board. This makes it extremely easy to sandwich back together & retains the factory spacers that keep solder from squeezing out when pressure is applied.

  • @sean8931
    @sean8931 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    could you possibly use the iSocket with the spacer plate and leave out the connector plate to put the board back together with hot air maybe?
