i've watched every skit twice. one of the best episodes ever, honestly. Ryan Gosling is the best thing that happened to snl. I love how he breaks but tries to control it at the same time, his lines are great, his connection to other cast members. We love him

perfect sense they came out after killing the father and talked to the white family while trying to market their product. At the end the joke was the father was black..... Seemed pretty easy to follow :)

They often do a dress rehearsal with a small audience (writers and crew mostly) earlier in the day, before they go live. They will make changes as they see fit, like rewriting or costume/set adjustments. Both are filmed though. Then they decide later which one to throw up on TH-cam. Obviously whichever one they thought was funnier. What you witnessed live was a result of one of the writers thinking that line could use more punch, but I'm sure the uploader decided that the cast breaking was funnier and went with the rehearsal. I've also noticed that they will occasionally edit the two filmings together. You can see sometimes that the costume is a bit different or something on the set is changed between camera-takes. They also, earlier in the week, do table readings and rehearsals without costume/set to figure out the chemistry with the host, the logistics of what they are trying to do and also for practice of course. It's a really interesting process leading up to the live version.
There have been very few moments in the past 5 years that SNL has caused me to laugh out loud while chilling by myself-I’ll laugh in my head for sure, but laughing aloud when you live alone takes something extremely funny. I have a tear that formed in my left eye because I was laughing out loud so much. I repeated it on .75 speed (certain parts at .5 speed) just so I could see everyone’s reactions. This. Was. Amazing. and I wouldn’t know where to even begin to explain why it was so funny because I have absolutely no idea what I just watched. But whatever it was, I want more of it. So much more.
