I'm also an English teacher. I like to tell my students "I'm so adjective, I verb nouns."
I never once heard them use Jumanji as an adjective. But I understand that a comedy sketch may be a more effective teacher than many of our educators.

This was incredibly written, delivered, and timed. Wiig always phenomenal, but so was the gentleman playing the man of the house.
The delivery is terrible. They're reading the entire time to the point it's distracting.

This is one of the many types of roles in which Wiig excels. What a pleasure to see her back at SNL for the night.

So many awesome parts to this sketch. Forte at the end just brought it home. That voice and the way he emphasized and de-emphasized words (& even syllables - “Cay-yo-teez”) w/that accent was perfection.

Okay but for real, Ticket To Ride is a really fun game. I have way more variations and maps for that game than is probably necessary. (spoiler's, Europe is way more interesting than US). I'd be totally okay with being "jumanji'd" into TTR. It's just that wholesome.
I was like Oh that's a kind of different TTR Legacy.
Though she was never going to play. It's a 5 player game!
I vastly prefer TTR USA over Europe, they are 2 very different games in my opinion.
In the US version it is way more important to choose the correct tickets and building the right routes at the right time to prevent opponents from blocking you.
By having the ability to just build a station at a very minor point cost in the European version you effectively remove part of the tension between players. You can always build a station to use another players routes.
Tunnels sound fun in theory but randomly losing a turn because you drew 3 matching cards is absolutely awful and can lose you the game if it happens more than once.
I understand why people prefer Europe. It is harder in that game to be completely blocked, but that is one of the reasons I love TTR in the first place.

It *is* a "lived in" character with "bizarre" origins! He was using his "Sea Captain" voice (talking painting in Seth Myers' attic during pandemic shutdown), to do the old timey engineer character.
