Your heater has a high alpine mode. Press and hold the left top and left bottom button at the same time. You will see a little mountain symbol show up on the screen top right. Enjoy and have fun, if you make it to Utah hit me up. God speed brother.
Don’t tell me this dude didn’t read the heater manual before going on his adventures alone. 🤦🏼♂️
You must be new here. He has tried that in other videos and it still doesn’t work
He’s tried that
14:08 God, is everything up to here so damn relatable. The solo offroading, the sketchiness of everything, the immense guilt, regret and dread after each worrying obstacle... and the constant tug of war between wanting to go back and wanting to go further. Didn't expect to enjoy this video so much when I clicked on it!
Happy your truck hasn't broke in half yet
I was sitting here leaning to help you get through those steep areas. Glad you made it.
You could go the bushcraft route and do some hot rocks. Find some stones, make a fire (I presume you have stuff to), and heat the stones up next to the fire for a while. Then put out and bury the fire, wrap the stones in a towel or shirt or something, and put those hot stones in your sleeping bag/comforter. It will essentially make a heated blanket.
Apparently theres a ton of people who refuse to go off-roading unless they have absolutely EVERYTHING money can buy with them. The suggestions from your viewers are sometimes ridiculous with stuff like "just go out and buy a winch, preferably two", "just rebuild everything but make it aluminum", "always have *whatever you need at that moment", "have an extra set of snow tires just laying around". seems like you got the bad end of a toxic person algorithm. Im glad youre still going for it and learning along the way like how most of us did it.
Gotta give you some props on the healthy-ish eating while living the van life
Toyota fan here. How is the frame and suspension holding up with that extra load? Creek crossing made it look like the bed was under some stress. Love the vids - living vicariously through you.:)
I was thinking the same thing, the frame under the bed was flexing a lot on that creek crossing. Love the videos! Stay safe out there!
This was so stressful to watch not going to lie 😅 Glad you’re okay!
I’ve had a few heart stopping moments out off roading. It’s funny that we never really learn. It’s amazing how two heads are normally better than one in these situations. But I suppose that’s one of the compromises solo touring.
Stay safe and keep on rolling. Love the series.
🙏 from 🇮🇪
Man,,, You NEVER disappoint! Always have me on the edge of my chair and my face glued to the screen not even wanting to blink thinking I might miss something. LET’S GoOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
You need to invest in some nice snow ice tire chains
He said he has some lol, must have forgotten about them in the heat of the moment!
Diamond made Studded Tire Chains
@@trav.buildswhen you have so much gear and not well organized, the brain has a way of forgetting tools he even planned to use in situations like that.
Couple things with the heater to try. Ensure the ridiculous plastic air intake piece is clear. I cut the end of mine off and slid on a K&N RC-1060 mini cone filter. Flows better and actually filters the air. Keep the exhaust pipe as short as possible. If you know you are going to an altitude you have had problems with start the heater in a lower elevation. The heater already running hot when you get to altitude is a lot more accommodating and will probably stay lit.
I hear from those before, if you are going to turn it off run it high for 5 minutes to cook off any soot. Kind of line driving highway every once in a while to clean offdeposits in the engine.
I Like your keep it running from a lower elevation to a high once started.
Mr Buddy heater as backup. Just saying
I winter camp in my wrangler quite often without a heater in Alberta Canada. Lots of little tricks you can do to stay warm. I use an army surplus down bag with a down jacket. I also have a wool blanket. I can use an electric blanket plugged into my power bank as well. I have a sleeping bf bag liner that runs off of a battery bank too. I’ve slept in minus 47 Celsius with no heater. Had the best sleep that night. Just wore a balaclava and gloves. I also cover all windows with reflectix. Works great. Awesome video. Looks like you had lots of fun for sure. 🤙
Wow!! I must admit I get mom-scared for you sometimes, but I am so enjoying your journey. Be safe and love it all! You are amazing!
Hey, those orange things on the back, I believe I remember you saying they are for traction, would have helped across the thin iced river.
I was thinking more on the sketchy hill. Not only for traction, but to use them to dig down to dirt for better traction. Especially on the way back. All that weight in the back would've had me sketched out enough to be willing to do a couple hours of manual labor! I give him props though for getting through it unscathed 🤘
There only really good if your already stuck and dont have anything to winch on, only enough to move you 4 feet or however long the boards are. Maybe would have worked on the river but he couldn'tput them under his rear tires like there supposed to be, because his rear tires were in the ice. I also might have used them the time he went off the side and had to dig down to dirt but it seemed like he had the necessary traction just had to get it pointed in the right direction. If you want more info on this topic go check out matts off road recovery. One of my favoritechannels@@shawndonovan7834
Glad you got out of that sketchy situation! You handled that well! Glad you made it through the night and were able to have some breakfast and quiet reading time!
That was one of the most exhilarating things I've ever watched. Amazing
you live and you learn. Love the vids man keep it up
I love your videos!! Keep up the great work!❤
Great episode my man best one yet love how you take great views and great aerial shots keep up the great work. I've been over Landing for a few years and that has passed my cold level by a lot😮
The force of the taco yota was with you 😅 glad you are ok!!
Your best video ever....thats the way it goes out there. You're livin' now! Keep it up.
Man love your videos!!!
Hahah we needa see more of this adrenaline! Awesome work
Those off-road journeys are awesome, but you really need some chains for your tyres.
I had a great time and learned a lot on this trip. Thank you!
Oh man if the chassis wasn’t bent before it’s definitely bent now. I don’t know if my eyes are deceiving me but it looks like the bed is sagging
The bed is definitely sagging… Something I need to address soon!
Great video man! Love that you take chances out there 👍🏽
Try looking into the diesel heater afterburner. It's an aftermarket controller that should help with a lot of the issues you have. It offers much more control ability and efficiency
love the videos bro living the life ... i think the chassis on ya truck is Bending seeing a lot of flex
If its thought out to much it isn't much of an adventure. Be safe love the videos
I hate daily vloggers but my man your content is so pure ... I watch 2-3 of ur vids back to back..... Good to join ya on your journey
You've got me biting my nails watching the climb on the side hills haha. Also, I recommend having some sort of protection on you against predators being out in the big country. You never know what you could encounter, and could be in a dangerous situation. I love watching your content have been watching since the first video. Keep truckin 😁💕
The only thing I look forward to in my week is his uploads.
Another awesome video! What a great adventure! Sometimes the "not well planned out" ones are the best... sometimes. This looks like one of those times. Nobody tells stories about the time everything went right anyway. And since you did ask, those were elk droppings and tracks.
Thank you!!
Insane! We all know that feeling 😅 love the vids
Man I’ve done this before and ended up actually rolling my truck over the bank. 300 feet sooner and I would have been dead cause it was a 150 foot drop to the river below. Has made me very aware for what I do and don’t do in the future.
I've definitely been there, in the moment, in a sketchy situation, but forgot I have extra gear that could helped me out of it.
As I've experienced more in my adventures, I've learned to just stop think a bit more logically and run through what I have on hand to work through the problem. Totally have pushed through so many situations without thinking through it too. But overtime I think I've just learned to think through it and not let my emotions get the best of me.
All comes with time with your rig and gear. I give you so much credit for getting after it to find adventures with the scrap yard taco!
Keep after it kid and show the world what those Yoters are capable of!🤘
sheesh, holy smokes bruv. Thank you for your courage and awesomeness
This video is a whole emotional ride. Wow
Sending light and love ❤
Be safe
Nice duder🔥
Wow 😮 Another great insight into what it’s like to be an adventurer. You had me feeling cold and worried someone from the creepy RV was gonna come visiting 😂 My Starlink arrives today, thanks for recommending. Keep making the most of it!
That truck is overloaded
Great videos
Top G!!
East Tennessee pass. Less than 5 miles to town. So extreme...
Bro please get your frame checked out
Head tilted looking under the truck with you for leaks. Another great video, thanks for sharing your adventure. So happy you made it out safely.
Keep it up. Love watching your trip and challenges...
I love your videos keep up the great work
Bro this video gave me more anxiety than the one where random ppl brushed up against your truck while you were trying to sleep!😂 Glad you made it out safe bro. Definitely check weather before trips, fix your heater and maybe buy a shovel because you’ll never know when you’ll need one. Safe Travels always! 🙌🏽🤙🏽
I see that ring! Always nice to see a fellow engineer.
Thanks for converting into Celsius
Man streight up went to the store and got banannas and a muffen XD
What an incredible journy! I always love watching your videos.
Just got an RV last weekend. Excited to fix it up and get on the road. But ill sticke to pavement :)
You're amazing! Keep pushing your limits, it's what life's about. How much sleep did your dad get that night?
Still crushing it bro. Just keep on keeping on !!!
What a great rolling advertisement for Toyota Trucks!
That side was so clean bro 🤣🔥🤙🏻
wow dude, i was on the edge watching this 😇
Ever try to fly the drone through your truck window? Or do you land it on top of the garage? lol
My wife has those same shoes! They're soo cute😅
Love Leadville dude. The collegiate range is beautiful
I really really enjoy your videos !!!! Too bad Toyota isn’t a sponsor ??? I think you’re doing pretty damn good with a junkyard Toyota Truck !!!!
Thank you! Maybe one day Toyota will get onboard! 😄
You had chains?!?! Oh lord. This was the most nerve wracking video ever!!! Glad you made it out safely.
I'm from Colorado and would never go that far by my self. Your crazy but I do enjoy the content
You should get snow chains. Gives hell lot of grip and they dont use really any space when stored
I am watching your part where you are driving out sliding .If you just followed down your tracks instead of cutting your wheel up the hill you would have never slipped down almost off to begin with… I’m a Tacoma fan have never owned anything else and live upstate New York so I love snow wheeling… im just trying to o give you a pointer just follow your tracks, trust your taco, and keep cool 🤙🏻🤙🏻 good luck on your journey!
Do a school bus build or van build don’t waist time and money reinforcements will not help the damage that has already been caused unless u straighter the Bend in frame but still it won’t handle all that wait and just will do the same thing eventually also I’m a mechanic fyi and welder .
Definitely think you need more space to sleep tho u have big garage but not a lot of room to sit etc sleep
Normally I watch you too relax and end my day. This episode gave me an anxiety attack.😮
Oh my gosh! I'm so glad you're okay and safe 💙🙏🏻
What an amazing video 💙 It was definitely beautiful 💙
I also would contact the company for your heater and make sure they know and see if they can compensate you somehow.
That's not right that they make those claims and it doesn't work.
Many blessings 💙
In every lesson there's a blessing, and there's so many blessings from all the lessons we've learned going through life. As always, another banger video homie! 👍🤛🤘💪
If the drone could talk: “Ah this fuckin’ guy again with the ill prepared snow trek.”
Entertaining as usual, hit me up if you make it out to the beast coast.
Leadville is next to Mt Elbert tallest mountain in the Rockies.
Dude I am gonna be in Leadville next week ! I love that town
What a video
Ayyyy niño me tuviste con el corazón en la mano 😢 I was sooooo worries 4 u Welcome to CO
Yeahhhh🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😮😮😮
You should try visiting the Donut media boys get the truck a checkup
Happy New Year 🎉 but I’m watching this February 18th. What took you so long? Lol
Traction boards instead of bumping hard. There’s so much weight back there.
If your heater keeps continuing with issues, I'm wondering have you looked into blankets that are rated for negative or arctic temperatures? I've heard of blankets or sleeping bags that are rated for things like Nordic winters.
Keep the videos coming
You got it 🫡
I go offroading in the winter in my toyota it looks like yours what i do to keep warm is i baught a -30 degree farenhight eltric blanket it comes with its own powerbank
How did you mount your inreach mini to your dash?
What size tires is on that rig?
What did you do for a living before doing this? How are you so young but had all of the skills to frame, build, modify and create the truck frame, the air spacers in the rear, the heater, etc etc. what was your background?
Side hill in the winter scare the sht out of me.
you could do with some sucker cups for the go pro and attach them to the car while your doing sketchy stuff so you can concentrate better and get more driving content
This one may have given me my first grey hair. 😅Please stay safER man! Glad you survived to tell your tale.
Also look into tire studs for that type of terrain
Hows your blood pressure up
I like to skip the water and just put the broccoli in the pan with some butter and let the butter and moisture from the broccoli steam. You get tasty morsels rather than those water bombs.
Byens hold😊
Snow tires, chains and a winch would help that truck alot!
Go easy on your truck bro. Is your home till the next home man.
Saw a thread about kerosene mixed with th diesel at high altitudes!
I gotta start taking my nerve pills before watching your videos. So glad you are having this amazing experience but you are putting grey in my hair! 😂💞
