    2025 I did it, it fix it. 🎉🎉🎉
    Now I just figured my mechanic straight lied to me for a year telling me he had checked the fast idle...IACV was replaced, but I did saved the factory Denso IACV because it still works.
    Gracias!!! from Bogotá, Colombia! 🙏

    Thanks!👌 Even an honest mechanic would charge close to $100 just to diagnose the problem. This video is worth its weight in gold. Not only did my idle issue fix, but my tach needle suddenly started working again as well!!!

    I got my 92 LX Coupe back in Spring 2020 and within the last year or so it start doing the idle surge thing. It does it when cold and when hot. It's annoying to say the least. I changed the IAC valve thinking that the 30 year old stock valve was the problem. No still have idle surge. I was thinking maybe I have a vacuum leak somewhere, but I didn't think about the fast idle valve. I'll definitely have to check and clean that valve,maybe it will solve my issue. Thanks for the tip.

      @thefilmguy Hey! I have the same issue, and also replaced the IACV on my 93 EX...issue remains cold or warm. Did this fix the issue for you?

    • @thefilmguy
      @thefilmguy 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ my problem turned out to be a bad intake manifold gasket. I replaced it, which was not fun, and it seems to have fixed the problem. You might take some starting fluid or similar product and spray around the intake gasket, EGR, plenum and throttle body and see if you idle speed doesn't change, if it does you found a air leak.

      Check you idle control valve readjust it and your fast idle valve might need to be cleaned if that doesn't work check your coolant and make sure you don't have any air in the system if none of that works check your egr last

      @@Regretwando wait till the car is cold then pull the radiator cap and see how much fluid there is if it's empty or low put some in then leave the cap off turn the car on till it gets warm then turn the heat on full blast and if there's air in the system you will see it bubling out of the radiator when everything starts moving

    Any chance you ran into this problem? My 93 Accord sat for a couple of years while the kids were off to college, now I am trying to get it to run again but it gets overheat, the radiator hoses got bulging, looks like the water pump not working for coolant circulation? The water pump was replaced about a year before the car sat for a couple of years. Could it be the water pump causing or the thermostat or anything else could be the cause? Thanks for any advice.

    • @CB7Media
      @CB7Media  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It could be the thermostat or the heater core my guess would be the thermostat it probably cloged shut after sitting for so long. I would flush the whole system then change out the thermostat. There pretty cheap anywhere from 12 to 18 bucks with a new gasket

    • @johnlivingston9217
      @johnlivingston9217 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CB7Media Thanks for your respond, I've got a new thermostat and will put it in when I flush the coolant per your advice, hopefully it will fix the overheating issue.
      Keeping my fingers crossed that it is NOT the water pump.

    1991 Honda Accord EX, 4 Dr Sedan, FWD, ...
    I have recently refurbished most parts in Engine area, @ Professional Mechanical Shop, included below:
    However, aft changing these, Idle speed was surging, 1k-2K in Neutral, and surging forward at stop signs in Drive, (so had to put in Neutral at Traffic lights, annoying ..).. then changed IAC twice, AND 3 mechanics can't figure out what is wrong even after adj idle via distributor,... they have cleaned IAC also,..
    Disabling IAC w Solenoid has bypassed this problem,,, I have videos, of idle speed with IAC plugged in (Surging ), and w/o plugging it in (no Surging,..),...
    The following were changed bef I had this problem
    Spark Plugs, Wires,
    Alternator, Starter, Belts,...
    Fuel Tank, Fuel Pump, some Fuel & oil Lines,..
    Radiator, Condenser, Hoses, Rad Cap,..
    Timing Belt & Water Pump, Tensioners
    Oil Pan & Gasket,
    Car was parked for few yrs during Covid, but before that, the Car used to drive really well, high speed was smooth, 100-120-140++ kph easy,.. smooth, quiet, normal Idle,... altho Fuel Tank & Rad had started to leak, rusting, so had bought another car, and parked this one,..
    Three (3) diff experienced Mechanics have played with IAC, and have changed both IAC valves (one w Solenoid was changed 2x!), and Fast idle Control Valve, but no luck.
    Currently, and even before these repairs, with IAC UNPLUGGED, car feels it has enough power, and has v good acceleration for a 23 yr old car, No sputtering ! (==> so NO vacuum leak?) & (NO defective Airflow sensor?),...
    I have seen videos of surging problems on TH-cam,.. and if anyone has any more suggestions,..
    Thnx
    Az_99

    • @1992cb7
      @1992cb7 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      just to add, it made it worse from before… I was having the idle issue for a while, it would usually go to 1.5 at stops but drove fine for the most part, then the problem would just randomly go away by itself and stay for about a month and repeat itself whenever the car was driven too hard (i.e. speeding, high revving) but after i tried this and put some oil on the plunger it made it worse and now just revs to 3k even when im driving… It literally won’t stop and i’m forced to ride the clutch/brake after driving down the street or else it will go and jerk by itself without me even pushing the gas once

    • @andycandy7747
      @andycandy7747 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not sure exactly why it’s doing that, but I’m thinking if you moved the throttle cable like in the beginning of the video, what if you accidentally misadjusted the cable, and that’s why it is accelerating like that. Check it and make sure it’s positioned there correctly, not being pulled, and check that the nut isn’t overnighted which can also cause the cable to be pulled, resulting in the high rpm/ acceleration.
