My favorite Luke commentaries are by Richard Vinson (Smyth & Helwys), R. Alan Culpepper (New Interpreter's Bible), and the new volume coauthored by Ben Witherington and Amy-Jill Levine in the New Cambridge Bible Commentary series.
Love these type of videos! What do you think about William Hendriksen volume on Luke? Some ranking sites put it higher than James Edwards volume on PNTC.
I’m currently getting my undergrad in biblical studies, so I don’t use anything too technical, but I have really been helped by the old NICNT commentary from Norval Geldenhuys, as well as the TNTC commentary from Leon Morris. Both may be somewhat outdated but I would recommend them to anyone
How common is it that Luke and Acts are handled by the same Commentary Author? My guess is that these should be handled by the same author. Do you have a list of the commentary series that do? I'm building out my Word Biblical Commentary series, and I don't love that it is split between Nolland and Walton.
Luke Timothy Johnson in the Sacra Pagina series, Joseph Fitzmyer, Anchor Bible I've read that Joel B. Green will be contributing the new Acts volume in the NICNT
I like this new format in reviewing Bible commentaries

So Informative and it also saves me money as I know from your reviews what is the most suitable commentaries for me. Many thanks

I meant to add Leon Morris' volume as a good alternative and forgot!
I think I could be biased, but I think David Garland's is pretty underrated. I would recommend both Garland and Bock to anyone!
In your site you say that James Edwards is presbyterian and here you say that he is a arminian. Is that correct?

Darrel L. Bock has written both Luke and Acts in the Baker Exegetical Commentary on the New Testament (BECNT) Series.
