This is an old comment but I just wanted to say I find it so funny! Lithuania has always been a major underdog in Eurovision... Even with good songs, they would end up in last places. Then LT UNITED came and put it on the map! I bet it was an insane experience for Lithuanians to watch their entry being BOOED by such a large crowd, and yet later that night celebrate their best place in Eurovision and almost make it to the final TOP 5.
A few of them are very well-known musicians in Lithuania, with long successful careers, especially Andrius Mamontovas and Marijonas Mikutavičius. They're amazing song writers too!
It's the fact that they look like they've come from an office, made up a song in a garage, then the guy with the bull horn where did he produce the bull horn from, then the guy with the violin and the guy looking like he was having a fit, then the saluting. It just got better and better, I'm currently crying and hyperventilating
I love this song and wish it had come out in any other year than '06 when it was beaten by Lordi (rightly imo) because it would have been a worthy winner of any other ESC. I was really shocked that the audience didn't get the joke but that was their problem. In Britain we gave it ten points and if even we supposedly stuffy Brits can get it how come no one else did? It deserved a lot better than sixth place.

I was listening to one of the performers of this on radio last night. He said his favourite part of Eurovision was when the backstage crew applauded them as they went on. The band had took the time to make friends with the people who made the whole show possible while they were there. That makes me like this even more.

What fans in arena didn't realize back then is that the song was meant to be a joke due to Lithuania ending up in the last place the year before and that they weren't being given much chance this time either.
A simple but clever lyric! They entered to have fun and to parody the whole event, not to actually win the contest! There was also a side-order of Andrius being Lithuania's most successful recording artist receiving Europe-wide publicity for his music, which worked in my case. I've since bought a number of albums and listened to a lot of his work, which is superb. The lyric is saying that the reason we are the winners is that "we are here to represent the truth", so you gotta vote for us. The truth being that they are real musicians creating real music, and will be remembered as such. Andrius received the exposure he deserves and continues to this day. This song has been living rent free in my head for 18 years.
What fans in arena didn't realize back then is that the song was meant to be a joke due to Lithuania ending up in the last place the year before and that they weren't being given much chance this time either.
It's the highest place lithuania has ever got so it did work out lol

A simple but clever lyric!
They entered to have fun and to parody the whole event, not to actually win the contest! There was also a side-order of Andrius being Lithuania's most successful recording artist receiving Europe-wide publicity for his music, which worked in my case. I've since bought a number of albums and listened to a lot of his work, which is superb.
The lyric is saying that the reason we are the winners is that "we are here to represent the truth", so you gotta vote for us. The truth being that they are real musicians creating real music, and will be remembered as such. Andrius received the exposure he deserves and continues to this day.

People in Finland were singing this because you have won :]] But for us lithuanians it's heartwarming anyway, 'cause this way we were involved in the victory celebration, Lordi was Superb, we were supporting them, as also Finland. So Thank You! :)
