Jeremy Michael Lewis performed with the AcoUstiKats on the fourth season of The Sing-Off (the year Home Free won). At the time this was recorded Jeremy and Kirstin dating. They were engaged later that year (May 29, 2016). However the engagement was called off in 2017. Kirstie is now expecting a child with boyfriend Ben Hausdorff, a freelance filmmaker and photographer.
The lady with the glass shattering highs is the short one in black at the far left. Jeremy was part of the University of Kentucky Acousticats. They were on Season 4 of The Sing Off.
Voctave was 9 members when this was shot. One couldn't be there. They have been 11 members for a few years now. Kate Lott is the high soprano and Tiffany Colburn the other soprano can go just as high. Jamie Ray 1 armed man and tenor in the group arranges all their songs. I would recommend: Prince of Egypt audio only but amazing. The Impossible Dream featuring Tiffany, Disney Princess Medley featuring all the women, Being Alive featuring Davis Phelps, Someone Like You featuring Jodie Mcbrayer, Any of their Christmas or Disney songs. I love their wall of sound.
There was this brief break with Pentatonix basically that I always interpreted as letting Matt learn everything (there is this break where they released New Rules and Havana and then nothing for about a year or so). Scott basically founded Citizen Queen (all female aca group) and I know Kirstie did some Broadway but with that and becoming friends with Voctave you can see how much she has grown and become confident in the true soprano part of her voice.
Not sure what you mean by a year break? They also released the videos for attention and Perfect. They released the entire top pop album in April of 2018 and then toured with it in the US that summer. Then went on to release their album Christmas is here in October 2018 which they also toured in December. Kirstie’s run in kinky boots was during their small amount of downtime although she was still working with Ptx too and that gave time for superfruit to tour that summer but it was certainly nowhere near a years time off.
Every member of Voctave is a top tier studio singer and the best of the best. A great example of just a bit of their individual talents can be found with EJ’s (Tenor) solo tour de force in “Oh Come All Ye Faithful”. Much like Kate Lott’s insane range, it is not to be believed.
You should totally check out the short behind the scenes clip that's on YT from when they were practicing. Kirstin and Jeremy just have to stop in awe of Kate. You can actually see Jeremy still looking over and smiling when Kate goes super high in this video.
Another great reaction, Salvo! As I stated on your "Disney Princess Medley" reaction, in late 2015, there were only 8 members present. In 2020, the tenor/musical director, Tony De Rosa, and one of the basses, J. C. Fullerton, left the emsemble and were replaced with tenor, Drew Ochoa, and bass, Aaron Stratton. The current Voctave emsemble is 11 members.
Salvo, there is a rehersal video showing Jeremy's reaction to Kate's high note. If you watch Jeremy during the actual performance, you will see him reacting to Kate again by looking over at her and also smiling and shaking his head in disbelief.

A note about the name of the group. It is VOK tiv, not vohk TAYV. They are all American, and use the American pronunciation of octave as the root of the group's name. At the end of "Carol of the Bells of Notre Dame" (a fun mashup to which you should react), E.J. says the name of the group, and it doesn't rhyme with "mocked brave".

Also recommending A Million Dreams (with Vocal Majority men's chorus), This Is My Wish/Let There Be Peace On Earth & The Impossible Dream (live). So I came across your reaction for a Pentatonix song and I’ve been on your acapella journey ever since. Voltage is one that I recently discovered in the past year myself. Their amazing talent blew me out of the water. My recommendation, if you haven't already heard it is: ‘The Great Movie Medley’ It's a tribute to movie composer John Williams. You will be blown away. There is very little singing in that one but the Talent of each member is sure to blow you away. Great reaction!
Voctave is an amazing group. They have many songs that you'd enjoy. Those angelic high notes were by Kate Lott... what an incredible voice! If Disney doesn't have Kirstie voice a future Disney Princess, they're idiots.
Check out "Lights" featuring PTX. It is a video from several years back. Avi does throat singing and one of the male members from Voctave ( second guy from the left) has a solo. In the A cappella world Pentatonix is the pop/rock group, Home Free is the country boys, Voctave is the drama club & I’m drawing a blank on the 4th group…sorry, covid brain, but they’re the choir. All of them are amazing a cappella groups in their own right & bring something different to this amazing music. Pentatonix opened up the mainstream viewership with the Grammy win & I love the amazing variety that’s followed & the way they all support each other!

My favorite Voctave track is when they sang Mary Did You Know with the song's writer, Mark Lowry. Voctave was awesome and Mark was amazing.

He was on another a capella group season 4 the following season of the singoff they met when PTX made a guest appearance.

Agree 💯. Granted Voctave is a highly regarded a capella group and not “backup singers” and it is a Voctave vid but the mix was off IMO.
