I've had 3 teeth removed and not once has my dentist ever explained to me about dry socket. She just gives me some extra gauze (if I needed it) and a care sheet which doesn't tell you anything about dry socket
I am now on day 8 post extraction with a dry socket and it still hurts. This has honestly been the worst amount of pain I have ever felt in my life, by far. Day 5 and 6 were absolute 10/10 pain wise, I'm convinced I would have ended up in tears at the emergency room if it wasn't for my medication. The pain actually made me light headed. I went back to my dentist and he packed the extraction site with a dry socket paste. That helped only somewhat. My gums are just now slowly starting to close, but I can imagine I have a couple months ahead of me where I have to flush out food from the cavity until it completely heals. Please, listen to your dentists advice. Don't smoke, vape, spit, or drink though a straw. I promise you, it's not worth it. Edit: 2 weeks of absolute hell. Day 15 was the first day where I didn't need painkillers. I am now on day 16, and while it doesn't exactly hurt, I can still feel a bit of discomfort. My condolences to anyone going though this.
@@donnypp9092 What I found to help was filling the extraction site with Orajel, taking extra strength ibuprofen, and putting an ice pack directly on my cheek. It will eventually start getting better.
Currently on day 6 and I cannot agree with you more! I spit without knowing I couldn’t and I’ll be damned, this shit HURTSSSS! Without being on meds, don’t look at me, don’t touch me don’t ask me anything cause I’m about to sock holes in walls 😭😭😂
thank you for sharing and i am glad you're recovering. how did you know you had dry socket? i suspect i may have it (5 days post extraction) but my mouth is so swollen it is practically sealed shut... the pain is so bad i cannot take it anymore and i am on strong strong pain killers
I feel this so hard. I was in agonizing pain for a couple of weeks after my wisdom teeth extractions. Nothing was helping. One night I woke up and felt really dizzy and confused and told my husband that something was wrong and I needed to go to the ER. On our way to the car I passed out and woke up on the cold dirty garage floor. He called an ambulance and I was told it was infected and got antibiotics. The entire recovery was honestly the scariest and most painful experience of my life. I actually still tear up just thinking about it. Also I followed all post op recommendations and still got dry socket, which really sucks.

@@corylefebvre8488 The human teeth are hard as great white shark and strongest tissue of human body. The only flow is the world order and it's temptation. In African countries majority of people have perfect teeth. They don't eat sugary food and chocolates, carbonated drinks. The people eat sweet and tempting foods, due to that they need to brush. If they brush their teeth then the enamel will get slimmer and eventually they will end up with a dentist. If they don't brush, the teeth will have cavities and end up decaying having a appointment with dentist. These all is a well structured set-up. You don't have any choice but you do have one choice of restricting some materialistic temptations to get more joy out of life. Pleasure of taste buds, genitals, body and mind will make us weak both physically and mentally. The best is to restrict all these temptations and get more out of life purely. Red Pill💊. @@stanzinnedona2569 Don't be afraid. As long as you follow the right procedures in taking care of your mouth after the extraction, you'll be just fine, virtually painless.
I wish I did the same... I am suffering from severe pain and after I got my tooth extracted for several days and I had no Idea what was the dry socket... The dentist just said.. don't spit, don't use straw, avoid hot drinks and that's it. I wish he explained why he said that is to prevent dry socket, not just cuz of pain.
Let me share mine... Got my 3 front tooth extracted and I feel okay. The cold compress and meds really helped me after the extraction. The blood clot is present and I didn't spit it nor rinse it with water, I just let it form. Then I only ate soft food like porridge and drink water without disrupting the area. It's almost 19 hours after my extraction. Praying that it will heal soon.
My sister got her teeth out the same day as I did, but she had a really complicated tooth extraction so she sadly got a dry socket. After seeing the pain she was in I waited until three days after my wisdom teeth extraction to even brush my teeth, and even then I did it very gently. yes my mouth was gross, but it was worth it not to have to go through this pain.
Hello I got a tooth extracted today after reaching home I ate an ice cream as advised by my doctor and then by mistake i rinsed my mouth after some time I saw a white thing in the socket now I am very scared I have taken my painkiller so I just can't tell that is it dry socket or what

m.s.janvekar if possible do it in Hindi for larger audience who reside mostly in rural areas. normally dentist hv no time to explain in detail abt pre n post extraction pain as also pl add what a common man needs to take precautions age wise - as problems for younger ones will be smwhat diff for older aged people.
Today I have done my first extraction ever and that too in wisdom tooth. Thank you everyone who shared their own experiences. That'll help me a lot. I will share my experience later on in this comment thread. It has been around 3 hours since I have done my extraction and there's no pain yet. Though my left portion of my cheek is swelled and that is kind of scary for now.
Almost 2 weeks passed, my experience: First 3 days were very crucial and one must need to take special care of. My dentist has recommended me 3 days medicine for pain and fevers which turns out to be very helpful. I avoided eating any solid stuffs in first 2 days. My diet was oatmeel, banana/mango shake, pulses only for those 2 days. I have avoided to use toothbrush next day, instead I used my forefinger and rubbed it slowly to the opposite side only. I have applied ice pack to the swollen part of cheeck for first 2 days 5-6 times in a day. Post 24 hours, I used lukewarm salt walter to rinse the mouth slowly slowly. Make sure you do not rinse with high pressure. I followed this rinsing method for couple more days 3-4 times in a day. I'm an occasional smoker so yeah it's not a big deal for me to avoid it for 3-4 days. If you have urge to smoke, please atleast avoid it for 2 to 3 days and later on put the gauze over your socket while smoking. A day after that, I used the toothbrush but still took proper precautions by using it slowly and avoided brushing on the side where extraction was done. After following all of this, not even a once I felt any pain and this journey was like a cakewalk for me. Hope this may help to some of you.
I had it once..it's the worst pain ever 24/7!! Went to the dentist after 2 days and they filled the hole with some stuff that looked like fiber of some sort..instant relief...pls be careful if you are a smoker. Smokers are more likely to get dry sockets because of the sucking on the cigarette. Cover hole with cotton before you smoke to protect the socket.
After I had the extraction of my first molar on the upper jaw and I was very afraid of anything that comes close to my mouth. I couldn't even speak a lot. My friend told me that that he even started eating the following day so I decided to eat and that was the most stupid thing I ever did in my life. Long story short, today marks exactly a few hours to a week since I had my tooth extracted and I have a dry socket. The pain has been real BAD but slowly going away. I can't believe I will spend Christmas not eating and spending my money on eating pain killers. Dental hygiene is the most not talked about part of health but after having your tooth removed, you get to know how important it is. Teeth are PRECIOUS.
My dentist didn't tell me, they just gave a piece of paper to read the guidelines after extraction. I watched some videos on TH-cam before going, Today I got mine extracted, no pain just mild discomfort.
Got mine removed yesterday and nobody explained anything . I’m so scared . I don’t want this. Especially after the pain I went through from the wisdom 🥺 Lord please not me .
They should’ve given gauze and instructions post after extraction and what not to eat and what not to do. Don’t sip from a straw, no coffee, just soft foods like soup, jello, ice cream .
I had dry socket and still felt the excruciating pain even with local anesthesia and heavy pain killers. It has very little impact pain numbing wise on me. The only thing I could do was increase my pain killer dosage and rock myself and cry waiting for the pain to subside.
Just had my wisdom tooth taken out... I love how all these dentists say "oh just take Tylenol" bro!! You ripped out part of my body and left a huge hole exposing nerves and stuff... Tylenol doesn't help!
Sometimes you need something stronger, but most of the time Tylenol will help. My dentist gave me a prescription pain killer to take in case the pain was extreme.
They’re so afraid because of the stigma attached to opiates, but they’re made for a reason and major dental work is definitely applicable. I had a molar pulled a week ago and it’s still killing me, with the pain extending from the socket out through my gums and jaw, and Ibuprofen and Tylenol don’t take any of the edge off.
Say 4 after extraction and bone graft. It feels like someone is hammering on my jawbone all the way up to my ear. Tramadol does nothing. I’m a tough cookie, but my God the pain is debilitating. It really does help to know you’re not alone. Heading back to the oral surgeon now to get it looked at…
I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed last week! My recovery went smoothly and I followed all of the instructions. I have an empty hole on one side of my gum though.. I’m hoping that it’ll heal by the 4 month mark🎉
@@maiimiro8718 for my recovery, I began to eat solid foods by like day 4. I chewed slowly to make sure my food didn’t hit my back molars. So be careful!! I hope you have a smooth recovery ❤️🩹
@@marip7514 thank you! it sucks because i got braces the day before my wisdom teeth removal, they applied "bite ramps" and its been digging into my gums causing even more pain! thankfully got them sanded down today and i'm finally able to eat solid foods!
Yall don't need to be nervous. Its gonna be okay. Coming from a girl who had more than 10 tooth extractions in her life bc she has a unique dental process. I had 4 teeth pulled out a few months ago so it's okay! Just eat soft food. Nothin too cold or hot. Like jello :0 I had my first extraction when I was in 3rd grade so it's really gonna be okay!
@@damainogreaper1236 When I first got my very first tooth extraction my mom would give me jello, soup, pudding, soft black beans, cheese, and a bit of rice. I found that chewing didn't help at all. It just gave me more pain. So if my extraction was one of my teeth on the left side I would either chew very slowly on the right side or just cut the food and swallow it. Let my stomach do that work for me :'). After a few more extractions over the years I got bored of eating the same soft squishy food, but that's normal there's nothing you can do. So before an extraction I ate all my favorite foods and had my soft food be ready for me in advance so it'd be ready after the extraction. You could just let chew your food if it doesn't hurt just make sure it doesn't touch the gum where you had your tooth pulled out. Another example if you ever need this would be if you had 3 or more (hopefully you don't) teeth pulled out at the same time and you can't eat, would be just swallow. No chewing at all. It will be a lot more painful. I recommend smoothies but let the smoothies be really well blended so there are no small pieces that will hurt your gum. I once foolishly used a fork bc I thought that since it's been 3 days and well forks are my favorite utensil- It'd be fine. But I accidently had he fork touch my gum where it was healing and it hurt real bad. So use spoons. NO STRAWS- I'm sorry but noooo straws pls. That will saveee youuu. (if your gonna drink something just drink like you'd normally do but no straws.) The pressure you put on your mouth to try and drink with the straw will hurt a lot. If you end up getting braces too, after they tighten it no straws, at all. I tried that 4 days ago bc I had my braces pressured again and forgot that I couldn't use a straw so I just stared at my mango smoothie and waited till I got home to use a spoon or just drink from the cup bc I was outside. So yeah it depends on how many teeth and how many days it's been since the extraction. Ask your dentist too don't be afraid to ask. And if they don't explain well just use a search engine to help, and make sure you use the gauzes properly to help stop the bleeding. Hope this was helpful and apologies for making this so long lol.

a good tip for brushing is to use a mirror to help see exactly where the toothbrush is. i tried to focus on just the top of my teeth the farther back i went as well. take it slow and carefully, only go as far as you're comfortable with so no accidents happen. i never realized how small mouths can be before i had to work around my wisdom teeth wounds

Just left the dentist for a follow up wisdom tooth extraction. I thought I was doing everything I was supposed to, soft foods, oral rinses, brushing & flossing when I should, no smoking no straws, no exercise, well… some how I got a dry socket. It hurt but not as bad as I thought it would. There would be times I’d start crying mid day due to pain but I thought it was just healing, not excruciating enough to go to ER (I do have a high pain tolerance) They put a clove oil pad in my hole and removed the stitch. Feels great now!!
Excellent video!! I had my first wisdom tooth extracted a few days ago. I am unsure if I have dry socket, I have some pain, but I have a decently high pain tolerance and have not taken meds. My oral surgeon did not mention anything about not frequently changing pads; I thought changing them frequently would make things better and keep it clean.
I’m getting a tooth extracted tomorrow, I’m scared now 😳. I’m already suffering from a unfixable cavity tooth. Now I have to suffer even more!? I thought that once the tooth that was hurting was removed that I wouldn’t have to experience anymore pain. I guess I’ll have to brace myself for these next uncomfortable weeks, but I know once it heals I won’t have to worry about pain anymore. I hope it doesn’t last more than a week or two.
Just got all 4 wisdom teeth out today. Was dreading the aftermath but it’s been almost 24 hours and I’m having zero to no pain. Guys I got a dry socket in a day. The 2-3 days it can happen bit doesn't mean you don't have one in less time. I got one the next morning after my extraction. Waiting 3 days in pain and just went for dry socket procedure yesterday and let me tell you it isn't as pretty as it seems. Not only did they remove the clot and part of my gums but they also shaved off some of my bone. Then packed it and stitched it up. Last night and this morning especially was the most excruciating pain I've been through this process and its not the gums that's the problem, it's the nerve in the head that is one of the biggest nerves in the body. It was so intense that ibuprofen or Tylenol together wouldn't touch it. I vomited many times. Not to scare you but this is the reality of it, it is no joke. I'm talking 4-6 hours straight of unbearable pain and most clinics tell you to wait a full day atleast before coming back
Went home and started pounding down cold coffees. Had no idea coffee was terrible for after extraction, it thinned my blood and I bled for about 24 hours straight. Even now over two weeks later still in pain. One day I'll go through a little pain, the next ill go through excruciating pain or it will be repeated. Hole is still hardly filling. Dry sockets are no joke, I swear next time I get a extraction I'm going straight to bed and going to sleep as long as I can. Past month I've probably slept no more than 25-30 hours hours.
I removed all of my wisdom teeth that i have kept for since it showed up 5 years ago , I didnt eat anything except for oatmeal , i drank cold water so it soothes the pain after extraction for 2 weeks , I became very cautious if i eat hard food so. A couple hours later I went to look at the bone spurr and noticed my socket had re opened, I started feeling intense ear and jaw pain, and I think the spurr dislodged into my socket: I now have to wait 2 days to go back and get it checked out. I’m on day 5 and my right side is perfectly fine but I’ve never felt pain like this. Even the pain killers are doing absolutely nothing.
it doesn’t hurt when i breathe but when i swallow i feel a little discomfort where my stitches are is that normal? i also noticed some whiteness around the socket & a small little boil but i don’t have major pain or any odor whatsoever
it’s weird because i got a bunch of what looked like cold sores, and whiteness around the socket as well, i had a very minor infection due to dry socket but for me it was a weirdly bearable pain,, and yeah it’s normal to have discomfort when you swallow because the muscles contract or something i forget what my surgeon told me lol
In my case there was food trapped down inside the hole. I have a Waterpik that I used after about 5 days from the extraction. I put on the lowest setting and was able to remove all the food particles that was causing the bad breath.
I’m on day 10 since my surgery and I feel a empty hole in the top right from where my wisdom tooth was extracted, but I don’t feel no pain. Will I be fine?
I had a molar pulled, and one of the things I had prepurchased to eat was sliced pickled beets. I scared the living HAIL out of myself...checked my mouth, and saw a purple...something...moving up and down in my socket when I was breathing. I was sure the clot was coming out. No pain, no discomfort. Put a little water in my mouth, tilted my head all around...and flushed out a piece of pickled beet! Needless to say, I will not be eating these after any future extractions.
Is it common to feel lumpy feel after remove stitches from the teeth ? Especially while eating ? And sometime I still have the slightly needle pain on the gum ?while gentle mouth wash ?
On day, six of having a back tooth removed this has been one of the worst pains I’ve ever experienced. It’s actually getting worse. I can only speculate that I have dry socket. I have to go back tomorrow.
When I was lightly moving the prescribed mouthwash in my mouth I found that I slowly let out (not spit, just let the liquid fall out into the sink) a super thin pink tissue, hope it's not the blood clot.
No it's not, don't worry! A blood clot would only dislodge if you were rinsing aggressively, and would appear as a really dark reddish brown semi-solid piece. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
i waited a week to use my syringe, and im reading the comments how blood clots are dark red. when i first used the syringe, some dark red stuff came out of one of my bottom sockets (but a socket that is super duper tiny). did i just wash out the blood clot???
If you are having a tooth pulled, pay attention. I am four days post op and have developed dry socket and I’d rather take a beating with a brick stick. The pain is incredible.
Do you feel any better ? I got all mine extracted on April 1st and I developed a dry socket. I’m on day 8 now and pains still there. Went back to ny oral surgeon and he packed it with some gross paste that ended up falling out a few hrs later 🤕
im here because it’s been a week since my surgery, but the right bottom side has been bothering me more than before. i have a horrible taste in my mouth. my surgeon did say that they had to remove more bone on the right side so the swelling would be worse, but is it normal to constantly have a bad taste in your mouth and almost a throbbing sensation in the jaw?
In my case, it wasn’t wisdom teeth removal, (had those removed back in 2000). But a tooth that had cracked after eating Raisin Nut Bran cereal. Pain was excruciating and finally called a dentist after 2 weeks. Yesterday was my tooth extraction and they explained NOTHING to me about dry socket. I’m going to take care and make sure I don’t lose this clot. Only going to eat soft foods from here on out….
Depends what type of shit you did in 2 weeks. After extraction, did you drink in a straw? Did you spit the blood out? Did you took a cigarette? Did you deep clean the hole? If you answered yes, then prepare to buy whatever antibiotics or painkillers you can get, and don't do the following questions again until it stops hurting.
@@Joshua_Cartus nah it is kinda okay now, i think i was overreacting a little because im nervous that i might have dry socket, cause the last time my tooth hurts real bad I can't even go to sleep or even lay down due to intense pain, anyway thanks for the reps
Since it's been 2 weeks, I'm presuming the socket has healed. It could be another tooth in the area causing the sudden pain and sensitivity, I'd recommend that you visit your dentist for an oral examination. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
i got my wisdom teeth removed 8 days ago and yesterday i was gently cleaning the holes with water, through A syringe, like my dentist told me. i was being very gentle but ever since then i’ve had severe pain on one side. i don’t have bad breath, or exposed bone but there is pain going down my neck, what should i do??
I have a ball which I assume is the blood clot. All I did was lightly burp involuntarily. I felt the clot loosen and it felt like it was going to come out. I didn’t but hours later I have severe pain radiating from there and it goes to temple. Sometimes…. You just have bad luck. Dry socket has been my biggest fear and I’ve done EVERYTHING I possibly could to prevent it. I don’t smoke, I don’t use straws, I sleep elevated, I brush extremely lightly and never around extraction site, etc…. And it still happened.
-Don't spit too much -Don't use a straw -Don't have carbonated drinks -Don't swap out the gauze until the clot has had adequate time to form GEE DOC, ANYTHING ELSE YOU FORGOT TO TELL ME??? 😡
I just had my impacted wisdom tooth extracted today and i was so thirsty i used a straw to drink right away 🤡 i also ate hard food and brushed my teeth right after lmao wished I researched about this before the procedure. i have a hard time swallowing now bc of swollen lymph node and i also feel pain but it's bearable. here's to hoping i won't experience excruciating pain for the next few hours
@@tminus-6152 well i obviously did not chew on the side where i just had my tooth extracted. I am in a foreign country so there's language barrier, the dentist only told me not to eat spicy food when i asked what to do/avoid. I also just impulsively asked to have it extracted right after my braces adjustment so i won't have to worry about it in the future. Oh and to answer your question, no i did not get an infection. the side of my face where i had my tooth extracted just swelled for a few days and i also had stiff jaw for about 10days so i can only open my mouth at a certain height. when i came back to have my stitches removed, the dentist told me that it's healing well. guess i'm lucky
So I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed about a month ago now ( Thank God I'll never have to go through that again) and everything was fine, up until about 3 days ago when the swelling came back, but only on one side. I thought everything was healed, but then I was struck with this. I finally got it to drain pus today, which was pretty gross but provided a lot of relief with pain as well as swelling. Don't really know what caused it, but I'm doing extra just to keep it clean and hoping it goes away soon
I got my wisdom teeth out it was the top right one and it hurts but isn’t so painful I didn’t know I had to brush with No toothpaste thoe cuz I’ve been using toothpaste. It’s my second day thoe. My dentist put something in that he said would help it heal faster and he had sewed it up which I go back in 2 weeks to take out but like hopefully it heals good And fast cuz I’m tired of eating soup and soft food cuz It doesn’t feel me. I looked online that I can eat soft cakes and cupcakes. Cuz I like eating sweets. But I’ve also been taking amoxicillin that he gave me and been trying to eat on my left side and hope it all works out
I took out my wisdom tooth about 2 years ago....I am still feeling pain in my gum area when I eat sometimes. I went to the dentist and did an xray and he said the area has healed; however I am still experiencing pain in my gum area and a bit of tingling in my chin. Don't know what else to do. Can anyone help?
I got a back molar pulled yesterday morning. It's more sore today and my jaw is sore. It's not unbearable pain, but I would give this a 4/10 on pain scale. I dont see any blood in the tooth, but I see something white. I'm scared of dry socket.
Had a molar removed and then dry socket, wow the pain is incredible what helped to some degree was clove oil very powerful stuff, purchased at pharmacy
It’s probably just slough tissue or some residual food lodgement if you’re not having any pain or discomfort. I would advise gentle, warm saline rinses to keep the area clean. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Uhm it's like moving so is it food stuck ? How to get it out..nf the upper one seems like a dry socket but there's no pain n discomfort ..I can't visited my dentist again bc of covid..😅
You don't need to worry if there's no pain, give it some time to heal. If warm saline rinses aren't able to get out the lodged particles, you can clean the area gently with a soft toothbrush. Be careful not to traumatise the healing tissue.
My dentist also warned me about hot food and drinks, also aspirin, since all of this can make the blood more runny. This is about the first 24 to maybe 72 hours. The confusion in my case is about the time after. How much I should keep it clean, or just let it in peace.
I don’t know if this can happen anyone, but I got my wisdom teeth pulled. I was in pain for days. My sister said the same thing happened to her, and it’s because of dry sockets. She said to go back to the oral surgeon and get some medicated gauze, She drove me back there the next day. All I can say is once I had the medicated gauze it was like a miracle happened ✨All pain left and I was totally fine. Since then, she and I told everybody we knew about them. If you’re getting your wisdom teeth pulled ask about them before you leave the office. For some reason they don’t offer them. She and I were at two different oral surgeons and neither one offered or said anything about dry sockets for that matter. 😢
Honestly they give you a paper for the next 72 hours the most important part is if there's no bloody patch over the site you're fine. If the blood came off with the gauze that is the clot and you're fine.🙂 I lost a tooth welcome my toothless friend we will get through this together.
I had a traumatic tooth extraction on September 10th of this year. My tooth broken in two, I was not given the local anesthetic where it needed to be or enough of it, and the dentist struggled with all her might for a whole hour trying to get the tooth out. It was very painful for me and I ended up requiring a stitch because of the size hole that was left. In all my years I have never had a bad experience with dentists so naturally I thought this extraction would be a breeze. I was wrong. And even though I took all of the necessary steps and precautions post extraction I have had to go back to taking otc medicine for pain and I suspect I may have developed a dry socket. Unfortunately I was so traumatized by my experience that I am very hesitant to go back to the dentist. The only good news is that I am on antibiotics for a bacterial infection which has the potential to help me out with any possible infection where that tooth was. I would rather be seen by a oral surgeon if I continue very many more days with pain. It is not unbearable thankfully which is why I am not in a rush to get everything checked etc. I can understand now why people hate going to the dentist especially if they had a traumatic experience. My dentist doesn't know this yet but I am no longer giving her consent to do anything other than cleanings and fillings. She never apologized for what she put me through. Her assistant was more empathetic than she was. If I had had the ability to make her feel the pain she was putting me in during the procedure I would have.
It has been 2 months after my wisdom teeth have been removed. 3 weeks later, everything has gone back to normal. However now, (2 months after my wisdom teeth have been removed) I have unexpected severe pain. Yesterday, I had zero pain, and today I have so much pain.
i would just prey that your not the one to get it. 5 percent of 100 is 5 people that have to suffer. If you dont' take it seriously then karma will make you be the one to get it.
I’m here because I think I have dry socket but I don’t know for sure. I just know it’s day 8 and my mouth still hurts. This Motrin is the only thing subsiding the pain. I know my wisdom tooth was impacted and that takes longer to heal but this pain is crazy. It’s like it’s not healing at all.
I had 7 tooth pulled out been 3 weeks already been hurting but they just say get use to it but my gums hurt now I believe I have white tissue like a blister my dentures really hurt
That's probably due to some rough edges or irregularities on the denture that's causing the underlying tissue inflammation. Please do pay your dentist a visit, they'll be able to fix it for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Day 8, had it packed this morning but it's come back 12 hours later, worse pain ever,I'm a grown tough fella and I feel like 😭😅

Got my 3 front tooth extracted and I feel okay. The cold compress and meds really helped me after the extraction. The blood clot is present and I didn't spit it nor rinse it with water, I just let it form. Then I only ate soft food like porridge and drink water without disrupting the area.

Almost 2 weeks passed, my experience:
First 3 days were very crucial and one must need to take special care of.

I had dry socket and still felt the excruciating pain even with local anesthesia and heavy pain killers. It has very little impact pain numbing wise on me. The only thing I could do was increase my pain killer dosage and rock myself and cry waiting for the pain to subside.
I’m currently recovering from the dry socket. One side of my face is healing fine but the other is delayed because of the it.
Same here bro,,, how are you now??

Yall don't need to be nervous. Its gonna be okay. Coming from a girl who had more than 10 tooth extractions in her life bc she has a unique dental process. I had 4 teeth pulled out a few months ago so it's okay! Just eat soft food. Nothin too cold or hot. Like jello :0 I had my first extraction when I was in 3rd grade so it's really gonna be okay!
When I eat soft food do I need to swallow just with my tounge or I could let just go in my mouth where I got my wisdom teeth out site out
@@damainogreaper1236 When I first got my very first tooth extraction my mom would give me jello, soup, pudding, soft black beans, cheese, and a bit of rice.

My brother had a dry socket after extraction (he stopped taking prescribed medication because it made him feel ill) the dentist had to fill his socket with something. over 30 years ago. he was in so much pain.
Got one of my bottom 1st molar extracted 4 days ago. Thankfully, my dentist informed me about dry socket and possible infections if I'm not careful. Followed carefully the instructions she gave me and felt no post-surgery pain at all except for the few hours when the anesthesia wore off but she prescribed me painkillers for that.
very informative. I almost used too many gauze. Letting it breath and heal makes more sense.

Just left the dentist for a follow up wisdom tooth extraction. I thought I was doing everything I was supposed to, soft foods, oral rinses, brushing & flossing when I should, no smoking no straws, no exercise, well…
some how I got a dry socket.
It hurt but not as bad as I thought it would.
There would be times I’d start crying mid day due to pain but I thought it was just healing, not excruciating enough to go to ER

They put a clove oil pad in my hole and removed the stitch.

I'm talking 4-6 hours straight of unbearable pain and most clinics tell you to wait a full day atleast before coming back
How did you get it? Sorry you had go thru that
Went home and started pounding down cold coffees.

I think you probably didn't wait long enough. I waited the recommended 72 hour period and took really gentle drags and I was totally fine.
I followed every instruction perfectly, but I had extreme pain on the left side in my cheek. So I finally was able to see what it was and it was a bone spurr from my jaw.

I'm scared of dry socket.
did u get dry socket?
@@fathercrellick4587 no it didn't end up being drysocket luckily! I had reay freaked myself out thinking I did.
@@Craftymomma87how?
How long did it take your jaw pain to subside? I'm on day 5 and my jaw is still sore
Had a molar removed and then dry socket, wow the pain is incredible what helped to some degree was clove oil very powerful stuff, purchased at pharmacy
I got my molars extracted 3 days ago i have white thing is it the tissue or dry socket idk it looks like ..?
It’s probably just slough tissue or some residual food lodgement if you’re not having any pain or discomfort. I would advise gentle, warm saline rinses to keep the area clean. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
@@iramcontractor1346 m nt having pain..I m doing warm water rinses regularly so probably be tissue..n thank u!😄❤️
@@iramcontractor1346 can't get it out feel like it's something attached idk
My dentist also warned me about hot food and drinks, also aspirin, since all of this can make the blood more runny. This is about the first 24 to maybe 72 hours.
The confusion in my case is about the time after. How much I should keep it clean, or just let it in peace.
The cloth I have is pretty big and covers one of my other teeth is that normal?
If the blood came off with the gauze that is the clot and you're fine.🙂
I lost a tooth welcome my toothless friend we will get through this together.
Brother does it hurts while extraction?
@Laura Sanchez thanks brother ♥
question After extraction, can the healing clot get loose and dislodge and reform. The clot seems to have slipped out from pulled tooth # 5.
Dry socket happens only 2-5% of the time... how is that common?
i would just prey that your not the one to get it. 5 percent of 100 is 5 people that have to suffer. If you dont' take it seriously then karma will make you be the one to get it.
2-5% of people who get their teeth pulled. 38% of people who get their wisdom teeth taken out
NO, much more common
I’m here because I think I have dry socket but I don’t know for sure. I just know it’s day 8 and my mouth still hurts. This Motrin is the only thing subsiding the pain. I know my wisdom tooth was impacted and that takes longer to heal but this pain is crazy. It’s like it’s not healing at all.
How are you now ?
I had 7 tooth pulled out been 3 weeks already been hurting but they just say get use to it but my gums hurt now I believe I have white tissue like a blister my dentures really hurt
That's probably due to some rough edges or irregularities on the denture that's causing the underlying tissue inflammation. Please do pay your dentist a visit, they'll be able to fix it for you. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
@@iramcontractor1346 I think so and I kept going back to tell them. They said I had to get use to them so I stop wearing them so I'm going back till Monday cuz I called them today
@@iramcontractor1346 thank you I will it's to much and to long hurting
