    Nice review. The Saroo it's the clear winner, OpenSource and still improving, SD disc image loading, Memory Expansion, Memcart saving feature, multiregion (lacks Hz change), no modding, no soldering, fast loading, SDHC EX-Fat, and a really affordable price and shops to acquire. I didn't find anything as complete in retro since the SD2SNES. Totally worth every coin I pay for It. The only drawbacks are compatibility, and a switchless region/HZ mod. Hope they improve compatibility and HighResolution load menu. Satiator it's also very good but with a obcene price and awfull buying options.

    The satiator has a program called rings on it that lets you put pictures on your games and I think backs up your saves. It really elevates everything with it next level

    I love original hardware. With that said, I like the high-end “all in one” carts with all the games for the original hardware. I just got a Saturn and bought a Saroo that has 250 games on it. I would go broke trying to track down Saturn games. Not to mention disk rot on old disk being an eventual reality

    Yea, the cartridge port though can be pretty spotty. Satiator works with 3 in 1 carts so ultimately I prefer the satiator.

      @@TheVetUkoh wow, didn't realize it had gone up that much. I think it was 90 bucks for the kickstarters. Yea, I'd probably get a saroo and solder on a fresh cartridge port if I were to get one now. Though it does have pretty great compatibility and support and the media card port will never wear out. Eh, already got one so too late not. Saroo looks cool though for 60 bucks.

  • @maxinsano7376

    I think Satiator will always be more capable. Saroo has compatibility issues with some games, and even though it is open source I don't think the cart will play all the games unless there are future revisions. And as far as 4MB RAM and savestates - Pseudo Saturn will take care of that. I know it's more expensive for the Satiator, but it can play everything.

    I'm wondering, what about Sega rally wouldn't work on a PS1? I mean they have games like Colin McCrae rally and Gran Turismo

    • @TheVetUk
      @TheVetUk  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think today someone could probably get it to work but back then due to the Saturns weird hardware the look would be different for start I as we all know about PS1 texture warping so I think it might not look as good if like today they did I multi ports back then and the first party studios had a better handle on the SDK so I should probably been clearer as to what I meant it was more back then that the PS1 would not get a port like the Saturn did in terms of release window and the look and feel of the game would not compare

      @@TheVetUk When it comes to 3D games...THAT sounds like a bunch of horse💩💩💩!!! Yes, on paper Saturn devs might be able to handle the SDK for first party games, ESPECIALLY 2D games.
      Buuuuuut...let's be VERY real - people all but forgot bout Sega racing games when Gran Turisimo, Ridge Racer came out. Further, direct comparisons like WipeOut and Destruction Derby that had superior textures and frame rates (on PS1) were embarrassing for Saturn owners.
      I'm kinda trolling here, lol!!! But, I'll be frank - I own BOTH systems & honor BOTH for what they do well. I REALLY don't play A LOT of 3D games on Saturn and conversely don't play A LOT of 2D games on PS2 (my PS1 has been long gone...).
      Bottom line - like what you like. But, say 3D games wouldn't be able to do the same or have better results on a competing platform is just disingenuous, Bruv...🤓✋🏾🤦🏾‍♂
      Liked & subbed...😎👌🏾👏🏾

    The Saroo is a promising ode but the lack of the port cartridge ( obviously occupied with the Saroo) will make impossible the use of the modem. Also the action replay cheat code features ( which can be implemented I guess in a future update). Last but not least, the Saroo doesn’t work properly on a Hi Saturn Navi, there is no sound in any game.

    • @TheVetUk
      @TheVetUk  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are very good points I forgot about the action replay
      I had heard of the issue with the navi
      Maybe one day these can be added and fixed

    • @gargonovich
      @gargonovich 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The hardware could be revised to have a passthrough which would probably solve most of those issues, but PAR and modem support are probably not headline issues for most people looking at something like this. Besides, if you already have the modem and PAR, the Saroo doesn't require modification to the Saturn, so assuming your disc drive still works, you could just take the cartridge out and play those games from disc with the requisite hardware.
      As for the HiSaturn, I'm going to make an assumption here, but I would guess that most people who have a HiSaturn Navi aren't using it as their daily driver, they probably have another Saturn what with the Navis being a collector's item for the most part.

      @@gargonovich I have 2 Hi Saturn Navi and I play with it almost everyday. I have to check if the Saroo will work with the SGX. Don’t get me wrong, the Saroo is amazing. Last but not least, the cartdrige will bend the Saturn connectors if you remove the Saroo often. So once installed, don’t remove it.
