are you sure that 360 isnt playing retail games because the dvd drive was replaced? or is that just a dev kit thing? usually games are detected as DVDs and only show that message when the dvd drive was improperly replaced but unsure if that same thing happens on dev kits.

I love original hardware. With that said, I like the high-end “all in one” carts with all the games for the original hardware. I just got a Saturn and bought a Saroo that has 250 games on it. I would go broke trying to track down Saturn games. Not to mention disk rot on old disk being an eventual reality

Just like you I have the PAL Wii with RGB out of the box. I was thinking about doing the mod but eventually I decided against doing the mod. Not only do I not have a compatible Wii model but comparisons show that there are only little differences between RGB and HDMI on the Wii. I have a TV with RGB component and SCART output and I have an upscaler for my retro consoles, so I will be good. 🙂

This is funny, I used to repair one of these about ten years ago, and it was the same skc-1000C model with the large single board, and I also have the same Panasonic Viera TV wall mounted. By the way, the CD drive is most likely not dead, it just needs the laser pot turned up a bit. Mine couldn't read the discs either, but I could just move the drive into a normal Saturn, then calibrate the pots until it could read CDs fine.

For the arcade games like Star Wars with the Pitrex, you can plug a controller into port 2, and if you press button 2 on that controller you can adjust settings like making it display horizontal and then also adjusting the screen size so you can make it full screen! Also you gotta check out UV overlays if you haven't seen them already! Nice video! I love the Vectrex!!

Might we know what games don’t work on the saroo? You only showed working games. Is it a large chunk? Any heavy hitter games that would suck to not have access to?

You can either buy an official component cable for the Digital out to get 480p in games and movies or buy an good HDMI adapter like Prism HDMI

This is amazing stuff - I had seen many large channels cover the other dev kits, like PS1 Net Yaroze, Nintendo DS, PS3 and others, but none has seemed to make a video about the PS2 dev kits which I found quite strange; so glad you made this video - I'm sure some larger channels might reach out like Linus Tech Tips, Modern Vintage Gamer, or others, and ask to borrow it for a video, haha! You sodered the audio connection the wrong way. when you look at the board and the jamma connector is at the bottom the black audio wire should be on the right and the red on the left. you should test you sound, you probably have left and right switched.

Very tempted. Also been on my radar for years. Glad to hear you got yours quick as reading horror stories of people waiting years for pre orders put me off. Yes i have PC etc, but for a busy parent such as myself, this is such a quick, easy solution to my needs. As you say, i do hope it matures as a system with Atari backing. Interesting seeing what's inside a PS2 TOOL dev system. I was always curious after seeing them at Hothouse Creations in Bristol, 2006, just before the company closed down.

Its hilarious how full circle we went, from homebrews and bootlegs, famiclones or in general home machines, mods etc all costing peanuts now the same somehow is treated as a high end device costing a small fortune. I could easily bet I seen this name before, the Polymega being a typical famiclone of sorts also one of those HDMI sticks that run emulators somehow years later of that this have the same name XD So if people want to avoid those easily will pass upon this thinking its the same thing XD

I just not see the point of these when you have either a PC or Android phone. Both are very capable of emulation and emulators are very simple to confugure. If you desperately want an all in one solution, retroarch and a cheap PC will be fine for anything.

Can I format the hard drive in one RGH Xbox and then put it in another? Or will it be "married" to the first console's serial number and therefore not work on a second console?

Is this PAL version region free? And will it work on Japanese CRT? Or just on PAL TVs?
