In this video we will cover descent procedures on the VATSIM network. We'll be taking a look first at some things you need to keep in mind. Then we're going to step into the cockpit to explore an arrival into an 'average' airport: Prague Ruzyne in the Czech Republic. Additionally, more complex arrivals at Gatwick and Amsterdam are reviewed.
Situations thay may occur are described as much as possible. This video is not there to show the perfect descent: it's there to make you aware of what can happen during the arrival and how to deal with it! And of course, ATC phraseology is extensively discussed!

Great tutorials! Love VATSIM.. I'm an old, old (1999) SATCO original lol. 95% of our VATSIM ATC is awesome and professional. Biggest peeve is "pop-up ATC" that wants to micromanage/ revise everything already "dialed in" (usually without any real justification). Other than the occasional online ego most VATSIM users are, thoughtful, helpful folks. We were all newbies once.

hello! i have a question. how did you do when a approach says you to land in a different runway while the one you have put in the fmc? you need to change your flight plan? but how can you do that?
How do you know which approach to use does atc tell you?
Can i know what app u use to check all the charts?

AviationPro 👋 what is radar vector? I cant find anything regardless radar vector. If you would explain it would be excellent!
Radar vector is when the ATC gives you heading, altitude and speed instructions to guide you towards the Final approach. One time my MCDU got bugged, I then requested radar vectors because I was not able to fly the STAR approach
I have proposition for another video. Can you make a video about vfr flight, general rules, air spaces classes(because every video describes what it is, but nobody seems to describe how to avoid them or sth), entering areas, traffic patterns etc.
Yes I am planning on some VFR tutorials this summer. Of course it will be the Dutch perspective but it should be helpful. Stay tuned :)
@Rocksen Yeah, I know. My point is, you don't have in US eg. class X, Y, Z. Each country has similar rules. I'd like to learn, about which class to which flight, which is more important than other, TMA. Just basic knowledge. I know that there is no video like "how to fly in Bulgaria - tutorial" and whole video about reading FIR documents in front of the camera :p that'd be hilarious. But you have to have a basic knowledge to understand these documents. And that's what I want to see.

What if youre flying alone without ATC, how much would you descent? For example, in the vid ATC told you to descend to FL250', but what if there is no ATC, how do i know how much to descent?

You just decide yourself. Technically, you can descend all the way to the approach altitude (e.g. 2000 feet), but I usually select some steps in the middle, like FL100 and FL240

Why i can not change frequency in a32O ones i click activate,for example ATIS,when i want to change to new frequency i scroll the button but dosent change i activated
vh1-atis,vh2-delivery,vh3-departure and then when i want to change approach to vh1 instead of ATIS it dosen’t work??it want let me change the frequency even if i scroll or switch between them?
Its a known issue for vpilot. It will fixed it when they found a way

No, perhaps try X-Plane and the Zibo 737 :)

They ask me to go on lots off different headings but how do I intercept the ils localiser?
Playmentic they’ll probably direct you to automatically intercept the localizer . Make sure it’s tuned in and it’ll be intercepted automatically if in range
@@mohitrathi6724 thx the plane i was flying was the toliss a319 and it had an issue where it wont intercept the localiser but they fixed it

Hello! I was wondering why some of your textures are "blank/white". You can clearly see it at 22:15 for example. i am experiencing the same issue and it's very annoying. Is it because of ORBX maybe? Have you tried to fix it?
It's just snow :P During the transition from winter to spring you'll still see some winter textures here and there. I think it's coded into Prepar3D and you can't do much about it.
