Not many young people getting into the trades today especially women …. Good for you and keep up the great work !
@@1321halojust felt like letting him know did you? But why? Did he hit on her or did you just project your thoughts onto this dude? Well either way, you seem like a shitty person. Have a nice day!
Yes so true they think college is the only the only way to get paid more imo
. Am almost 26 and I think college is great for certain jobs but it shouldn't be forced onto kids nothing is wrong with trade I was thinking about going into hvac or wielding I wanna go into cyber security but the tec job market kinda sucks now.
@@adrianjuarez1162 I’m a Electrical Contractor for over 40 years semi retired… We need people ,you put your hours in 4 years depending on your state you live in , get your license and your off and running easily 80 to 100,000 a year . If you get your masters license potentially a lot more money ,the sky’s the limit . I’ll be honest its sometimes dirty and it’s hard work , but it’s very rewarding, Everyday is different there is so much to learn in the Electrical Trade . The best part NO STUDENT LOANS … Good luck to you !!
@@adrianjuarez1162the tech market is horrible right now, I’ve worked in IT the past year and a half but was in a mass layoff now I haven’t been able to land an IT job for 4 months
@@adrianjuarez1162I want to get into cyber security too! Once I get my jman card I am getting out of the trades
Been in school for 7 mounths love everything about the trade almost there. Love your vids girl you are inspiration to women in the industry.
I’m actually going to become an Electrician soon - watching you only motivated me more… More Women in TRADES 💪🏽😎
I am also an electrician, but are you studying in this field?
I am a Electrician in Germany and was interested in the work of a Canadian Electrician. Thanks for the video.
OSHA would be slapping you on the wrist for the ladder infraction lol. Good work.
Working on the required math. It's somewhere in head but its been neglected for years. Thanks for the great videos.
You do awesome work. And you are learning as you go. Ladder safety is so important. The number I killer of tradespeople is ladder falls at the 6’ level. Maybe your company can do some ladder safety training. Keep up the good work. Awesome to have young tradespeople
Nice! I use a 6" hole saw for making easy access holes in drywall. Easy patching too because it goes back in perfect.
Good tip! I guess any size holesaw would work granted it's big enough
I appreciate the content on your channel & Lexi’s too. 😃👍🏾
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the inspiration! I'm probably starting THIS September!!
thank you as well. stay blessed
thanks for sharing a day on the job some times there can be challenge at the end all works out be safe
I’m a first year an apprentice in canda love watching your videos it’s nice to know other people our on the same grind I am lol
Was an electric apprentice while in school for electrical engineering, oh the memories.
Amazing video and awesome job
New blood in the trade awesome youngsters 👊🏽👊🏽
thank you for this amazing video's
Looks cold. I like that vest!
🇲🇽F🇲🇽F🇲🇽H. CONGRATULATIONS LOOK ITS GOOD PROFESSIONAL WORK THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE VIDEO FER ELECTRIC NASHVILLE TN. 😅👊
How nice! When I was an apprentice my mechanic bounced my fat max off my head. Nostalgic
Try to convince my daughter to work in the trades. I'll share this with her as a good example of women as an electrician. See what she thinks.
Great video!
That's some serious girl power Karly!
I liked the video
Excelente trabalho parabéns.
Nice I start early every day
You are amazing
God Bless You...
And God bless you Joseph, hope you're having a good year so far
Love the videos Karly, keep up the great work
Exactly keep up the good work. Although I'm in another country, these are helpful vids whilst I'm training to be a sparky
❤❤❤ great job but you did not use hand gloves for the pulling of the cables how did you fill
A little bit more commentary on what you are doing and the pros and cons of alt methods would enhance the video rather than just the music 😊
Have you seen the Milwaukee m18 fish tape they came out with? It looks like it would be a nice quality of life tool instead of the manual tape.
Looks cooler than plumbing
All I can say is: You're awesomely Amazing!🤙👍💚
It’s always something that will come up on a job site.
Parabéns Karly além de ótima profissional divide seus conhecimentos de graça conosco obrigada.
Good job and looking lovely lady 🌹
Great professional, women beautiful eletrician
Thanks for making this video! I'm looking into being an electrician and the sight of all of those wires and cables just freaks me out and makes me feel like I could easily fuck something up. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's not as intimidating as it looks...
I remember feeling overwhelmed like that too when I was an apprentice. Don’t worry, once you figure out what you’re doing you’ll learn to just deal with one wire at a time. Think of it like clearing a heavily wooded area. It looks pretty intimidating at first but you just start chopping down one tree at a time and before you know it, you’ve only got a few trees left and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel approaching
You are a wonderful and beautiful engineer. Congratulations to you for this beautiful work. But why do you not respond to our admiration for you?❤
❤❤🙏💐💐💐🌄🌏🌍🌎🌈 thanks high majesty. I love your story - history lullaby like the song of song. Of the genius artist. Like you . That i found and discover. To tis line. Is a sign and vision to me.
Богиня-электрик!
master skills
We dress almost exactly the same. If we stood next to each other, it would look like we shopped together, lol.
Try sonde elettricista, we use it here in italy.
Apprentice volunteer as tribute. ..🤔how nice .....
In a haunted attic kinda way? 😂 Or is this an electricians term I don't know?
I have pulled many wires in my time.
‘All you gotta do is…’ famous last words.
I have as well. All you have to do is hire a new guy and take a 5-hour lunch it's a breeze.
Can u do a video on installing a ceiling fan?
Oooo you ill👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I mean, I hate to be that guy, but the way you stand on A-Frame ladders just makes my legs hurt from watching lol. Maybe try and use them properly before you end up on the floor yelling in pain. Trust me, I have been there and learned my lesson. Just be safe!
By the way, I loved the video otherwise! Not trying to hate, just encouraging safety. You don't have to take my words into practice, most don't. I just have seen many injuries in my time from people not using the A-Frames properly. But loved the video!
👍❤👌
Are you operating your own company? Seems like you have an eager apprentice. Volunteering to do the dirty work in the attic, must score a few points with you.
It’s better to cut stud to stud. You can screw it back in and the Sheetrock ppl can just mud it. It seems worse like you’re cutting a larger hole, but it’s better for the worker coming behind you. Sometimes people I do work for will ask if I can patch what I cut for $$$. Might as well make a few extra hundred for a little bit of extra work. Maybe it’s because I’m an electrician and not a sheet rocker, but the patch kits are a pain in the ass.
On a job like this there likely isn't a worker coming behind them to fix the hole. If the home owner wants the hole patched that will be for them to schedule, and that worker can fix it as the see fit, there is more than just some mud tape and paint, the wall also has a stippled finish.
Hey I like to be a electrician but please answer to this question? What car you drive 😄
How does your electric work truck handle the cold? I know Lithium ion and cold are not friends.
What about using the Klein Tools fiberglass fish tape instead of the steel one?
That's what I use, but it's not required unless you're dealing with a pipe that already has wires in it
Sparky gang
cool, i love to see your job, you are so Beautiful
Lucky apprentice. I bet you are a chill JW and neat with your craft. Would love to work under a nice female lead as a sparky
Do you work alone ? Or buddy system work with?
Your great mam . ..
Keep up the good work..
I'm a electrician to..her in the Philippines
In my opinion the electrical wiring an distribution boxes in in america is botch. You have to look at distribution boxes and electrical cabinets in the industry in germany. Everything is way more orgenized and the used devices in the electrical cabinet are most time protected from touching things that have live voltage.
You even have yourself an apprentice? Bravo beautiful lady!
I am not fan of the layout and design of the circuit board. Then I like our standard better in Denmark. 230V, but only 10A :P... Don't got those fancy latters though
Determined to find a girl like this one day lol
😊
How do you get an apprenticeship? Do you contact companies directly or go to an agency? What’s the best way?
The IBEW has the best apprenticeship program. What major town or city are you closest to and I can get you the number to call and apply. Or you can look up IBEW apprenticeship or NJATC. If you meet the requirements and are accepted, they will place you with a contractor so you can begin your on the job training while you go to school. The pay is decent just starting as a 1st year apprentice not knowing anything. It’s usually about 50% of the journeyman pay scale for your area
Which pathway did you chose and why, apprentice, trade school, community college thank you for your time.
ibew apprentice
Our safety department would have us suspended first time they caught you standing on top step of any ladder. Second time would be fired!
I’m 34 years old is it too late to become a sparky? I’m 6’7 also so idk if that would make this shit easier for me or not lol. Aside from that should I do schooling or just an apprenticeship because I see these guys asking for 1-2 years experience and I’m like how tf is that an apprenticeship at that point? That’s half way into your journeyman’s
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Where did you go to school to become an electrician
Don't stand on the very top step of the step ladder. Splat
Somebody’s going fishing.
You will fall off your ladder if you keep standing on the top… its just a matter of time
Hi Karly I am wondering how tall you are? I'm about 163cm tall so a shorter than average girl looking to start an apprenticeship (starting TAFE for a cert 2/pre apprenticeship in April) and lowkey nervous about not being as tall/strong as the average man in the trade. Have you had any issues surrounding build in this line of work? Just not looking forward to the inevitable sexism I guess. Thanks so much for your channel, you are inspiring! River - Melbourne Aus 😊
I'm a guy and only 3cm taller than you, being smaller framed is an advantage sometimes, crawl spaces and attics are difficult enough as a smaller person almost impossible for bigger people. As for strength issues, most of the time there are better work arounds than brute strength, and most times if brute strength is being used something is wrong, time to stop and rethink the problem, after all we are electricians not plumbers, lol.
Thanks so much! Are you qualified? I have had the same thoughts about the confined spaces. I'm 2 weeks from finishing my pre-app now and loving it! I love that this trade is more logical and tedious than brute strength, feeling pretty validated in my choices 😊
@@River-gz3ny Yes, been licensed for 15 years now. Started out in residential, 3 years, got to 2nd year level, then switched companies to more industrial, finished my apprentiship and stayed for there 8 years. Moved on into healthcare, been there 7 years now. I consider myself fortunate to have found work that I like doing, I'm good at, and it pays fairly well. Logic and attention to details are a big part of the trade, part of that is staying safe, inspite of some hazzards that come with the work. There is a good sense of accomplishment taking a job from an idea on paper, sometimes that idea on paper is yours to, and making it a real functioning product. I've all along thought that there is nothing I do that a female couldn't do if they want to, don't let anyone tell you that you can't.
When cutting access holes- use ur saw for 3 sides. Use utility knife on side 4 and just a quick score , punch and score again. Save ur strength as much as possible. As you age you’ll figure out little short cuts to save ur joints
It must be annoying having someone following you around all day playing the guitar loudly. Like in restaurants sometimes when on vacation when a band walks up to your table and plays music in your face while you're eating your dinner and you have to give them a tip to go away and annoy someone else.
I think I am in love.........
Without using any safety gloves you're doing this kind of hazardous job . Lots of Sharp edges during termination cables.
I don't know if Sparky is a good name for an electrician, but hey 😅
That's how electricians are commonly called, colloquially, in quite a few countries
Been an electrician 30 years
You never stand on top of the stepladder it’s so dangerous,
Your ladder isn't tall enough to be considered safe?
get you some walkie talkies
I feel like the quality of supplies from city electric has gone down
Can we just call you yams 🍠
What's your salary like?
I am electrician i need your help
are there days where you hate what you do?
SAFETY FIRST
You broke every safety code there is in less than 3 minutes.
The top step of ladder is not a step.
You stepped on the top step, used to hold screw drivers ONLY.
Your elite apprentice was on the ladder the opposite way.
You both do not follow safety protocols.
If you continue these bad habits, you both will end up in the hospital with broken legs, ribs and hips.
You both need to take a safety course.
Hi

Your ladder safety is scary
