The pattern I'm following had a method of creating "jogless" stripes that was still giving me jogs and a noticeable seam, but I knew you would have a better solution for me to try. Thank you for the clear explanations and the comparison of all of the techniques at the end!!

Thank you so much for your videos! I'm a self-taught knitter and when my son naps on me I've been going through your videos to fill in gaps in my knowledge! As a person with a masters degree in teaching, you are a wonderful teacher, clear and patient. I especially appreciate that you explain why and show other methods and their results. Amazing job, and thank you again for making nap time educational and fun for this mom.

Norman, you are a wonderful role mottle for knitters and knitters to be. I have a saying I introduce new knitters to whether or not I’m teaching them or we are just knitting together. It has become my one rule when anyone is learning something new. “Don’t say anything about yourself that you wouldn’t say about your best friend.” It is amazing how that little rule changes the atmosphere of learning something new. You reminded me of that when you make comments about how long it took you to learn a knitting technique or if you felt a little difference between the pattern and your knitting. Somethings are worth the time and energy to get the knitting perfect and others you don’t worry about. I foster bottle baby puppies. I sometimes have time to make a puppy a sweater. That puppy isn’t going to notice a jig in a stripe. All they care about is being warm, well feed and as close to me as possible.
Keep being you. I always learn something beneficial and you make me happy to be a knitter.

Thank you Norman for making my knitting neater. The joining in the rond for two colours always annoyed me because of the jog. Thanks to your tutorial I can do it now without a jog. I never knew how to do it, but now at age 75 I have learnt something very useful. As I knit many socks and sometimes have a lot of little balls of wool left , I want to make use of those remnants by knitting stripes but the jogs have kept me off. Now I can do it. Thanks!👍

You have the best knitter’s techniques resource I’ve found on TH-cam. Thank you Norman; you’re an excellent teacher doing beautifully produced instruction videos!
Can anyone recommend a good resource regarding flat knitting of stripes. I’m knitting a child’s striped sweater in 4 colours, but I don’t know what to do on the edges where the yarn has to travel up the side for many rows.

i m planning to do a video on that..but don't know when yet.
If it's seamed, you can just hide the floats in the seam and you don't really need a special technique. If it isn't and the stripes are not too big, you can catch the non-active colors every second row. If the stripes are bigger, I would cut the yarn and weave in. childrens sweaters wille xperience quiet a lot of wear and tear plus end up in the washing machine often.

@@NimbleNeedles Thanks Norman. I have been leaving extra yarn so I can cut and weave in.

Norman, thank you so much for all your outstanding videos and the time you put into them. Your effort is helpful for a new knitter like me and inspirational looking to the future. I watched this video to help with a striped cowl. It has six sections and six colors, each section has two colors. Section A has C! and C2, Section B has C2 and C3, and so on. Each stripe is four rows. My question is, do I cut the yarn when I change colors leaving a tail that then gets woven in? The directions don't say specifically, but it does say to "Weave in all ends prior to closing tube" Mostly, I just wanted to express my gratitude.

up to you, really. Often, carrying the yarn over can be visible and if done incorrectly might pucker or you catch the floats when putting things on.
Then again, weaving in ends comes with its own problems.
