Thanks for that info. I just searched that term and see how wide spread it is, as you say. And really almost a hard clay. www.mountainstosea.nz/papa-geology/ Thanks again.
Great to see shots of the Whanganui river road as it’s on my list. Tough camping in that rain, though! How did the postie fit? You’d be a tad tall I would have thought!😂😂
Thanks Stephen. Whanganui River Rd was great. Though we rushed it to get to Whanganui. It’d be nice to spend the day meandering down there. Hard to tell on the postie. How do you find it after multiple days? ;-)
Thanks @maccas44, much appreciated. The bike still going very well. It’s also my everyday commuter. No changes planned, though I have some crazy thoughts at times. Like replacing it with a HD with knobblies
The grey rock you saw in the cuttings is known as "papa" and is a type of mud rock. There is lots of in in the King Country.

Hey Gus how about a review and rundown of your 1200 Yamaha and gear you use.
Haha. I could give it a go. It’d be from the perspective of some who doesn’t know too much - but I have thought about most things a lot ;-)
@@motogusnz mate you should showcase all your gear and bike, yours is TRUE adventure touring in all sorts of weather… go get em Gus
There's a distinct lack of fringes in that group
Haha. So right. Only 1/5, I think.
