Triumph Bonneville T120 Rainy Camping Experience

- Motorcycle camping in Autumn on a Triumph Bonneville T120. In this ASMR video you can relax to chilled music and the sounds of woodland nature intermingled with the noise of a 1200cc parallel twin engine.
Join me as I explore the roads of the Western Lake District on my modern classic motorcycle and set up camp in a quiet woodland location.
I'd intended to do a lot more motorcycle camping this year, but almost constant rain for the whole summer season as left few opportunities to get out there. I'm always much more accepting of the rain in Autumn and it makes for a great time of go camping in the woods. There's few people, empty roads and despite rain showers, there's usually a dry day or two to be found.

I like a lot of milk and then have it stewed for a long time 😁
I was a bit concerned about that road and my road tyres to be honest, but we got through ok thank crunchy.

It’s called astroturf here too, turns out it’s quite practical for the bike instead of having it sink in mud 😁

Love it! Wish I had the money to do this kind of thing.
There's a little expense in getting good equipment to start off with, but once you've got the things you need moto-camping's a great, cheap way to travel. I hope you get to do it soon.
@@ClassicRides One day I may get to. It's just life stuff happened, and it's a financial struggle right now is all. At least I had gotten a bike a while back so I can at least ride.
Nice set up with the tarp and tent. I think I would always lean my bike away from the tent, just in case!
That’s very wise, I have mine placed so if it where to fall over in either direction, it’s not landing on the tent 🙂

Thanks David, I hope your shoulder heals up quickly and you're riding fit in time for Spring (and some decent weather🤞🏻). I'll do my best with the videos, the bike's off the road for a few weeks while it gets some work done for it's MOT, but hopefully I'll be back to doing normal videos soon.

There’s a list of mods I’ve done to the bike on my website, but for the engine sound the bike has the Vance&Hines pipes without the baffles in, a K&N air filter and it’s been decatted 👌

Nice video but I am somewhat amazed at the gear that some folks pack along on their motorcycle camping excursions. Table, oil lantern, cookware. Some get quite elaborate with their meal preparations. Most are probably one nighters I would think as there wouldn't be room enough for the gear necessary for multi-day excursions.
You’re right, there’s quite a difference in what I’d pack for a single night camp or a multi day trip.

Excellent vid Matt. Totally admire your skills of production. Wonderful beautiful location. The essence of a trip out on a bike.. Reminds me of my times out. The smells of the muddy road in the wet brush of a low lying forest. Just the right amount of cover for a good camp. Peaceful. Liking the wax cotton equipment and the new Trangia stove setup. May do one of those soon for myself. Never have had an alcohol stove in my many years of riding/camping. They have a mini version out now as well. Coffee, the main meal of the day many cases. Take care and safe rides.

Great video as always Matt. Reminds me of a chap who's TH-cam name is Giocamp, I think he is Korean or Japanese. He also rides a T120, or sometimes a Royal Enfield Interceptor, and wild camps. Both you and he have me wishing for those autumn days when it's cool but clear and being on the bike is pure escapism. Thanks very much for all your efforts.
