Never have I been so pumped up for a final boss fight. Seriously, Toby knew how to get the players going. Whether we were sad, angry, happy or even frightened. He knew how to pull it off.
You know, it says something when a game can take the most generic 'YOU CAN WIN IF YOU BELIEVE' theming, and make something that really works. I speak no hyperbole when I say that this game helped me realize that I have control over my life.

Easily one of my favorite songs from the soundtrack, along with "But the Earth Refused to Die", "Battle Against a True Hero", and "Reunited". It means something if you can make "If you believe in yourself you can win" not cliche, but something unique that means something. The one thing nobody bothers to do is try to figure out, "what can I learn from these games?" Toriel says that "they'd always be there to protect you" (you are never alone), "Don't Give Up" (the name of the song, figure it out). The people who learn lessons like these and take them to heart, not just from Undertale, but from anywhere, are the truly good people.
Man, that was all so sweet... But, strangely enough, even though my friends cheering me on filled with me determination and made me want to cry, what really got to me was what happened right at the end. EVERY OTHER MONSTER FROM THE GAME COMES TO SUPPORT YOU. Muffet, the Royal Guards, even REGULAR ENEMIES all gather around you, telling you that you can do it. And that's where you realize how happy you are to not have killed anything. Every last living being you met in the Underground is here for you, by your side, ready to help you take down Flowey. And it makes it all the more heart-breaking when Flowey absorbs EVERYBODY.

Why is Undyne so heavily linked to determination? Seriously She melts (in similar fashion to the True Lab determnation experiments) while proclaiming she refuses to die after you kill her, she transforms after being struck down, she never gives up unless she is physically incapable of accomplishing her goals, and her theme even plays during one of the most determination-filling moments of the game. Seriously, there are some undertones I have yet to figure out
+Crazy Chocolate Monkey correct me if I'm wrong but also wasn't she the only one to generate her own determination? The others had to be injected with it but she just had her own once she realized EVERYONE, not just monsters were in danger. She knew she had to stop you and so she was determined to even if she died trying.

(Spoilers) Asriel didn't get determination until he was Flowey because Alphys had injected a flower with determination that had Asriel's essence on it. I don't think it had anything to do with being the son of boss monsters.
Cat NEO, I don't hate Asriel, but he's not one of my favourite characters either and I prefer Flowey to him. I think that people (including me) tend to consider Flowey and Asriel to be different people, which takes away everything Asriel did as Flowey. This makes his treatment in the game make him seem like some incorruptibly pure force for good which can never do anything wrong, which can seem unfair when you compare him to other characters, who have obvious flaws.
Here's the thing... He COULD feel what we take for granted. Flowey is simply depressed, so he has this lack of empathy which is common in depression. We know he can feel emotions, because he felt sadness, he felt guilt, he felt fear. Everything about Flowey screams "I'm depressed and I can't get through this alone." Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't really need a soul to have feelings. That's just what flowey attributed his depression to.
I was planning on doing a Genocide after Pacifist, but this song showed the true kindness of all the monsters. It basically saved me from the Genocide run.

Genocide wasn’t very fun for me the only good part of the genocide route was Sans’ fight but even then his fight is just annoying it’s just a memory test. Pacifist is hands down my favorite run

it's funny how this theme can be so helpful. Moments like these get me every time! The sight of all of your hard work coming together to pay off in the most crucial moment, the final battle! To have the protection and loving support from all of your friends and new family, even if they're about to vanish from your eyes, you can still feel them close to you, cheering you on and giving you their strength, their will, their DETERMINATION! I don't care what anyone says about "anime cliches" and what not, I ADORE moments like these and it pumps me up without fail!

A bit of a subtly beauty in this song is that the piano bit in this is the same as in ‘An ending,’ but this one is a far more hopeful/uplifting version. It’s very touching since with ‘an ending’ you’ve condemned the monsters to live underground, but in this they all love you and are standing behind you
I know this is old and probably no one will see this, but... When i was at this point where Flowey was about to kill me, but then when Toriel saved me and the music started playing, when she said something like ,,No matter what, we will be here to protect you" or something, the tears started coming in. Then the other characters started protecting me and saying stuff, i was literally crying. The first time i saw this, i cried. The 2nd time i saw this (because i turned off the game coz i needed a break from fighting Asriel), i cried. The 3rd time i saw this on a youtube video, i still cried. And now the 4th time when i am writing this comment and listening to the tune, i have tears in my eyes rn, but they dont want to come out. This is just so beautiful, the tune, and the part of the game where it happens, its just so beautiful. Undertale truly has the best soundtrack out of any game that exists out there, it literally describes your emotions in certain point of your playthrough, it can even make you cry by how beautiful it is. It makes you feel like you actually are in the game, the characters are real, everything is real. I Love Undertale, and Pacifist is the best route you can take. Screw Genocide, Pacifist is beautiful. I am NEVER doing Genocide, ever. I am too good as a person, too much caring about other people, i would never hurt anyone, even game characters that arent real and never were. I Love this Game.

I have a friend who I think would represent this. She's fighting cancer. I don't want her to give up. She's gotta keep fighting! I know she can do it though, she's a nice but tough girl. Just like Undyne, she's on the brink of defeat but refuses to drop. Just like Undyne, she is determined. Just like Undyne... She is brave and does what she thinks is right. Why is Undyne so heavily linked to determination?
Seriously
She melts (in similar fashion to the True Lab determnation experiments) while proclaiming she refuses to die after you kill her, she transforms after being struck down, she never gives up unless she is physically incapable of accomplishing her goals, and her theme even plays during one of the most determination-filling moments of the game.
Seriously, there are some undertones I have yet to figure out

The others had to be injected with it but she just had her own once she realized EVERYONE, not just monsters were in danger. She knew she had to stop you and so she was determined to even if she died trying.

Cat NEO, I don't hate Asriel, but he's not one of my favourite characters either and I prefer Flowey to him. I think that people (including me) tend to consider Flowey and Asriel to be different people, which takes away everything Asriel did as Flowey. This makes his treatment in the game make him seem like some incorruptibly pure force for good which can never do anything wrong, which can seem unfair when you compare him to other characters, who have obvious flaws.
Here's the thing... He COULD feel what we take for granted. Flowey is simply depressed, so he has this lack of empathy which is common in depression. We know he can feel emotions, because he felt sadness, he felt guilt, he felt fear. Everything about Flowey screams "I'm depressed and I can't get through this alone." Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't really need a soul to have feelings. That's just what flowey attributed his depression to.

Moments like these get me every time! The sight of all of your hard work coming together to pay off in the most crucial moment, the final battle! To have the protection and loving support from all of your friends and new family, even if they're about to vanish from your eyes, you can still feel them close to you, cheering you on and giving you their strength, their will, their DETERMINATION!

I know this is old and probably no one will see this, but...
When i was at this point where Flowey was about to kill me, but then when Toriel saved me and the music started playing, when she said something like ,,No matter what, we will be here to protect you" or something, the tears started coming in. Then the other characters started protecting me and saying stuff, i was literally crying. The first time i saw this, i cried. The 2nd time i saw this (because i turned off the game coz i needed a break from fighting Asriel), i cried. The 3rd time i saw this on a youtube video, i still cried. And now the 4th time when i am writing this comment and listening to the tune, i have tears in my eyes rn, but they dont want to come out. This is just so beautiful, the tune, and the part of the game where it happens, its just so beautiful. Undertale truly has the best soundtrack out of any game that exists out there, it literally describes your emotions in certain point of your playthrough, it can even make you cry by how beautiful it is. It makes you feel like you actually are in the game, the characters are real, everything is real. I Love Undertale, and Pacifist is the best route you can take. Screw Genocide, Pacifist is beautiful. I am NEVER doing Genocide, ever. I am too good as a person, too much caring about other people, i would never hurt anyone, even game characters that arent real and never were. I Love this Game.
