Exploring and having great adventures is what motivates Giordan and Maddie. They have built up their GU Patrol into an extremely capable tourer that allows them to get off the beaten track and find those hidden gems around Western Australia.
Australian 4W Driver magazine recently had the opportunity to spend some time with the couple on location at the Wandoo Woodland Bush Camp and to quiz them about their off-road lifestyle.
This is the first in a new series being produced by Australian 4W Driver and LensNation where we seek out the everyday 4WDs and their owners and discover what makes them special.

So, we got a pretty cool request the other day. The State Library wants to include our series My 4WD My Story in the state's film archives.
How cool is that?

Hey Jayden. It was like watching a Baywatch episode, complete with slow mo jiggling action (talking about the suspension). That GU has some serious flex. We might need to get some footage of it gallivanting along a nice sandy beach somewhere : )

Couple of things. Move the the whip antenna to the centre of the bar, never sandwich antennas together, leave that for the DIY muppets. Front facing top light bars are great way to kill your night vision to the max. All you see is dust and bugs in the air as it comes at you. Even more so with a white bonnet. Go the 3L BTW!

Glad you liked it Ross. The next video is due for release in 3 weeks to give us time to complete the editing process. We shot 8 vehicles over one weekend.

Thanks Todd. Bobby is a master behind the camera (except when he is getting covered in mud - need to teach him how to duck : ) and his editing skills are nek level. We can't wait for the remaining episodes to hit the channel as well as create some more. It was also a great opportunity to meet so many great people during the shoot.

Did I see this thing at modified diesel performance about a year ago? Mine was in for a tune and the car and plates look familiar. Great car mate love mine but yours is alot more modified!!!!

Would have like to have seen the draw set up.
There was so much to look at on this rig that it was going to be impossible to get it all without making the video super long. We might have to do a follow up video where we go more in depth. Appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback Peter. We have deliberately avoided too much of the technical aspects of the vehicles as we wanted to capture the owner's passion about their car. We are looking at doing more technical reviews down the track (pardon the pun : )

A few inches of lifting and tires？？ I use translation software. I can't understand what you say
A few inches of lift relates to an increase in the suspension height, increasing the ground clearance of the vehicle (minus the axles and diff etc). Larger tyres fitted also provide some additional lift (and clearance)to the vehicle.
Stuff all info on the car build, waste of time :-(
Sorry you feel that way. We go into more detail in our magazine on this build but the purpose of the video was to talk about where they have taken it. Hence the name My 4WD My Story.
