My Mom keeps a tiny package of salt in her car. She got a cartilage rod on her ear a few years ago and the piercer gave her the salt to help with the healing process and she just never took it out of her car. Even says it's for protection. She is not spiritual or religious, but has studied and dabbled in various beliefs, including witchcraft. Some things speak to me that she is starting to practice again, or lowkey never stopped. I am the same age that she was when she was practicing, late teens. She is very proud of me for finding my own path. Love you Mom 🔮
Underrated protection ingredient: Garlic salt. It’s literally garlic powder and salt. Both of which are protection powerhouses. It’s like the two-in-one shampoo/conditioner of protection
@@ChaoticWitchAunt I actually put two-and-two together from one of your TikToks-you were talking about what it’s like to be a witch, and at one point you said something like “I wonder if you can use Garlic Salt for spellwork?” So I thank you for that
So I just got into a car accident and totaled my car (head on impact- no idea how I’m not more beat up) I’m recovering rn, very thankful It’s only bruising… but it’s crazy that this video came out now I feel like it’s a sign hahah. My car had my grandfather’s license plate on it so I like to think that he was the one protecting me. I’ll definitely try this out when I get my next car ! To anyone reading this, don’t forget to buckle your seatbelts 💕
My grandmother always used to tell her kids (my mom and aunt and uncles) to put money in the jar for St. Anthony and say a prayer. My mom SWEARS everything would always show up and this video just really sparked that memory in me
I really love watching your content because, as an Italian person practicing witchcraft and keeping as far as possible from Catholic folklore (because here the Catholic church represents power and conformity, for obvious historical reasons), you give me a fresh perspective on those practices that are very common here (I am from the south). As an example, it is incredibly common here to use stickers of saints, usually Saint Padre Pio, or of the Madonna in her many variants, or straight up officially blessed rosaries hanging from the rear view mirror as protection in cars - but also corni are common. Like, cars that don't have such charms are actually rare, and mine is one of them, I just have a shell and little bells charm on my rear view mirror, I made it from a shell pendant that was my grandma's and a pair of dangly earrings I made in the past and wasn't wearing anymore. I can relate to what you said about the feeling of independence that driving gives you, as I started driving later in life too, and the feeling that you need to protect the means of such independence, which is exactly why I crafted my charm. As usual, thank you for your work here.
I relate with the driving so much. I'm 23 and only started driving this past summer and it really does give you so much independance. Especially when you live 20 miles from anywhere, like me!
Garlic is so powerful for protection. Since Annabel the green witch talked about and Chaotic Witch Aunt wrote about that in theirs book "Spells for Change" I use garlic for my home and my parents house, its super cleansing and powerful. Definitely recommend garlic ❤ Ty Frankie ❤❤
I am Italian as well and they always threw change, dimes etc on the floor of people's cars when they bought them for good luck. My Italian grandmother had mary on her dashboard. This brought up so much.lol. I keep a safe travel spell jars in my car all the time.
I don't exactly have a protection bag for my car but I do have a Dragon. I place him in the front window when I'm not in the car and ask him to "watch the car" while I'm gone. He's my co pilot when I'm driving also (cos hes too big to keep on the dashboard while driving)
Saint Anthony is the patron saint of my family’s hometown in Italy. He has such a sense of humor in my experience. My nonna tells a story often about how she found a gold earring she lost years before while digging in her garden after praying to Saint Anthony. When I got into working with him, I was looking for something and offhandedly asked him for help. I immediately found it and he told me it wouldn’t be that easy next time. I’m very slowly gathering info on Benedicaria and other Catholic folk magic practices.
I’m 21 and I’m finally working towards getting my drivers license after years of driving anxiety. I really resonate with the your reasons for wanting to protect your car, and you have definitely inspired me to do the same!
i made a jar for my car a couple weeks ago!! i used cloves, rosemary, salt, and something i cant remember lmao, but its worked really well for me!! i also recently got a nazar bead to hang in it too!
My best friend gave me a butterfly charm that I hang in my car and enchanted it for protection, I also have a strawberry quartz pendulum in my car because I often find that I have a lot of meaningful self revelations in my car so therefore I wanted to aim the energy in the care towards something loving and kind and innocent. I feel like if you spend as much time in your car commuting as I do, then having magical and specifically protective items in your car makes it all that more special and home like.
No praying mantis today? ;) I"m currently on a road trip for a concert, and I made a little jar for the ride. I only used a jar because I didn't have a bag on me! I put a little of this, a little of that. Vervain, cat's claw powder, one of my can'ts whiskers (for guidance, naturally shed, of course), a pinch of sugar to sweeten the ride (no problems, traffic, fun convo with the hubbie), and I always keep a small jar of my personal black salt mix amplified for protection with a sprinkle of graveyard dirt because I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and people do not know how to drive there. It's scary on the roads! I also keep a small statue of Bast, as she is my main deity. Cats are my thing, and I always feel a protective energy from her.
this has nothing to do with car protection, but I caught a cold late yesterday, and today I woke up with a fever and feeling terrible, so I was hungry and made some cheap chicken top ramen and I was blessing it with healing energy and then i ate it and man do I feel better, obviously I took medication alongside it but the soup really made me feel better
This is crazy timing for me, I just got my licence a few weeks ago and I've been more and more confident with it and I totally understand what you mean by having it as a symbol of freedom and autonomy. (especially after having a bout of mental health issues) I got a hamsa symbol sticker on the back of my car and its just so perfect, I feel like ive been driving better since putting it on there too!
omg i love your earrings, also i have done a similar car protection spell and it worked very well. i’ll probably use this spell when I need to refresh mine
I lost a small earring from my ear and it was somewhere on a messy floor and I did not have the time to spend hour looking for it. I started a St. Anthony chant to find lost things, and just as I started speaking my eyes was drawn to my lost earring glinting on the floor.
Well, this came at a perfect time. My car was broken into while I was at work (night shift), and I’m pretty sure my copy of The Druidry Handbook and others deterred them in some way (hopefully) 😂😂
My boyfriend's van is almost named the same as yours! His is Bessy, and she's probably at least 12. I love this charm bag! I need to make one for myself; I've made them for friends. Could you say more about your earrings and the Italian traditions?
I love this, because you’re right, I think a lot of people don’t think about protecting their car. I have a protection charm bag I got from Elwynn at The Antlered Crown that is red velvet and has Rowan berries (among other things) and a stag charm for protection. I also really like the idea of protection bumper stickers!
I dont know if you'll see this because I'm late to the party- but my partner keeps getting nails in his tires. At first I did a return to sender because it seemed like a targeted act. But it's still happening and they've checked the cameras were he parks and have never seen anyone putting the nails in. So my next course of action is to make a protection charm. Do you think it would be a good idea or a bad idea to use the nails that we've pulled from his tire in the charm?
I’ve been to RitualCraft, but I like For Heaven’s Sake a lot too! They are just right up the road from them and feel more like a mom and pop shop than a boutique if that makes sense? But this is a really neat little car protection charm and very different than mine! Love seeing what different people do :)
Oooh I love this! I'm Spanish so for my car and my trips in general I use ribbons of Our Lady of the Pillar which are really popular here. It's 39 cm long which is the height of the actual mantle worn by the wooden imagen of the Virgin. Travelers would carry these ribbons so they could ask the Virgin for protection and to aid them with health and trip related issues with no need to go to Zaragoza (the place where the wooden image is). A lot of people nowadays use those ribbons without knowing the historical context. Some of those ribbons are sold with our country's flag printed on it so people buy them for nationalism purposes not knowing the story behing it. It really irks me but what can I do. I have it in electric blue and baby pink and I plan on buying it in all the colors I can so I can wear it with different outfits. Sorry for the long comment lol I'm just telling this story in case someone might find it interesting. Thanks for the video as always!
Hey, I'm Spanish, too, and my name is Pilar! I've never heard of this, where can I get these? Born & raised in US, but my mom is from Seville, my dad is Italian/British. I haven't been able to find ANYTHING on Spanish folk magic, I would be more grateful than you know if you have any books/resources you could recommend. ❤️🕯🔮🃏♾️🧿🪄❤️👍👍🙋♀️

When you say the prayers are closed do you mean people need to go through an 'initiation' into the folk magic or like... It's just kept secret from person to person?
Some do initiation, some have the prayers passed down family to family, from person to person. Most of the prayers have rules - they can not be written down, they can not be transcribed while the sun is down, etc and breaking these rules means the prayers lose their magic

Seal it with wax, or even using different jars, depending on your craft.
