Couple things, Pele is a goddess that came from the Native Hawaiian polytheistic religion. She isn't an urban legend. Also, you showed the H3 freeway on the opening shot of the Pali Highway. Wrong road.
I've heard from multiple sources now that Pele originated outside of Hawaii and was brought over with Polynesians who settled on Hawaii and other islands. Also, the part of her showing up as an old lady with a dog would be an urban legend. Urban legends are stories that are believed to be true by groups of people but have no concrete proof.
I'm from Hawaii and the tourch bearers are actually ancient Hawaiian warriors who use to patrol the old Hawaiian paths for intruders. They usually travel during a full moon because it helped them see better. I never seen them but I heard them pound their drums and the faint light of their touches.
Was so happy to see my homeland featured in your Top 10 Urban Legends series!! I grew up hearing, collecting, and telling a lot of them. chase Directo well, there are ancient Hawaiian chiefs or royals that walk among them and according to the stories, they are so sacred that any mortal who would lay eyes upon them would be struck down violently. The only way to avoid this is to strip, bow/lay face down motionless and stay out of their path until the sounds of their drums fade or if you’re lucky enough to have an ancestor in their ranks they will vouch for you and they will leave you alone.
Yes!!! So glad you guys made this because i have experienced the night marchers, they are very real!! The choking ghosts are real, they attack people more there than anywhere, its super real. The night marchers come to investigate new people, they also come around when theres stress in the house. The drumming is unforgettable Also the hawaii film studio is one of the most haunted places on Oahu.
Courtney Pie yup I've lived on Oahu my whole life and it's definitely haunted,I've experienced choking ghosts and other unexplainable occurrences. People were telling me im crazy. I was a non believer until something happened to me when I was 10 years old living next to a mountain in waimanalo.
My brother once was out playing cards with his friends and he heard drumming coming from a grassy area, he also saw torches and they went inside, the next morning the table was flipped and there was stuff everywhere.
