I tried that too. It didn’t work. I end up with my left shoulder dislocated and I sprained my right ankle. Not only that. I lost the puck, turnover, and goal against. 😂
This is awsome for amatures like me who suck at toe drags and don't know why they would always get poked checked and didn't understand until this guy explained why...all other tutorials just show you how too but never the approach and angle of approach and all that so great insight!
Love these videos. I wouldn't mind seeing the kids in the actual drill. Seems like a lotta skaters out there and I'm curious to see how you keep lines/wait time short and maximize reps. Thanks for these videos!
Love the very last comment of the video. At the level most people watching this will be playing at, raw speed is one of your advantages against a defender and will get you around them much easier than fancy stickwork if you have the legs for it.
Watch the hips. It doesn't matter what they do with their stick or the puck, their hips are the last thing to move in the direction they're committed to going. You will catch them every single time.
need u as my coach lol, i suck and im 15, trying to get better, I cant keep up with other players, I'm so slow :(, I suck as well, I just have good hockey IQ, my shot isn't bad, but pretty bad XD, I am a playmaker for sure, decent passing, again horrible skating.
I'm 13 and my skating is good I'd say. My shot is average and my deking is horrible. Don't worry, go slow and you'll gradually get more comfortable on your edges
@@kylecheng5071 well im 15, and I was in a 15-21 league, and most people, and I say most meaning almost every1 except like 5 kids r older than me, so that didn't help, I was a turtle compared to them bruh, and u know kids, all puck hogs, never pass the puck, how can I playmake, if I don't have the puck bruh, my deking is actually decent, my hands r slick (id say :)), again I have very good vision and IQ and make smart passes (BUT HOW CAN I DO THAT IF I DONT GET THE PUCK BRUH), I'm just toooo slow so I couldn't do much this season, sad times :(, it really does seem like speed is the most important thing somehow
@@AKAKATTACK_YT It seems like it because it is. Your speed is the foundation the rest of your game grows off of from a competitive standpoint. As someone who has played for a pretty decent amount of time, work on your stride and your conditioning. You can consider yourself a playmaker, sniper, power-forward, etc... but none of that matters if you aren't getting to the areas you need to be in at the right time.

Your videos are inspiring both for this old beer leaguer and for my U11 son. Wish I had a coach with your enthusiasm when I was kid.

I cant get around the guy :(
there's no contact in my league as well
I think the guy seems like a great coach, the moves just seem a little advanced for kids.

They look like AA level players they’re chillin
Nah, my roller hockey league has some kids around 14 who are just filthy. Pull all these and some.
how to get hurt 1o1
pls just make videos in 50 or 60 fps its gonna look way smoother
almost as complicated as martial art. Had to watch 3-4 times
Watching this because I get dusted every time in beer league.
Awesome now i can beat up on kids on my local rink
Until you get body checked.

Picking it up vs technical lessons are very different. No elite player exists that didn’t receive lessons like this. Maybe a good beer leaguer....
