If your 3.2 is overheating I'd go straight for the egr cooler as it's more of a likely culprit and also has a higher chance of devastating the entire engine. But this is a great tip. I'm going to do it tomorrow.

Well spotted. I have a 21 Everest Trend. I recently installed an ebay bull bar and found the same thing. about 2 hand fulls of leaves and lolly wrappers. Mind you the vehicle only has 14000klm on it. I bought it from Coffs Harbour. My best guess is it goes through the grille and hits the radiator until you stop then it just sits in the bottom of the scoop. I doubt this is something mechanics at Ford would bother to check.
Unfortunately I lost a rediator in my Everest 2.2 XLT... once removed I found it all clogged up... which could be the reason the radiator started leaking.
