  • He's won more PBA Tour titles than all but two people...EVER.
    But his bowling days are DONE.
    Norm Duke of Clermont, FL announced in July 2022 that he was retiring from competitive bowling. However, he's regularly staying connected to the sport by making appearances on behalf of Storm Bowling. One of those appearances was on May 6, 2023 at Drkula's 32 Bowl in Inver Grove Heights, MN.
    In this video, Norm discusses his "non-bowling career," how he was sent off at the 2022 PBA League finals, the incredible season that one of the top pros on tour in 2023 is having and "Almighty Malachi, Professional Bowling God!"
    Trailer: • Norm's Non-Bowling Car...
    Thanks to Norm Duke for taking the time to do this interview and to Drkula's 32 Bowl for allowing me to record it at the center! www.dracspub.com/

    I'm crazy about Norm Duke and sincerely hope he is correct about the future of bowling. What a wonderful ambassador for the sport, heck, for the human race.

    I've had the great pleasure of meeting Norm in person back in 2010 at a Matchmaker session in Rothschild, Wisconsin. He was with Wes Malott. Norm was incredibly humble and full of life. Loved his coffee too lol. Grateful to still have him with us and continually playing a role in bowling with our youth!

    First time I’ve heard “Almighty Malachi” mentioned in a bowling video. I saw Steven Lynch a few years ago, he didn’t play the song though 😢.

      @BowlingWithTheFef  ปีที่แล้ว

      From what’s he’s said on a couple live performances I’ve heard, he makes it sound like he doesn’t want to play it…could be the “schtick,” though! I think I’ve successfully exposed my Thursday teammates to “Craig” and “Beelz,” which is probably necessary, right?!

    Great interview Andrew! One of my idols.Not only a superior bowler but a superior human being! The players championship had me rolling on the ground with the commentery of Rob Stone about Don McCune used to bake his "balls" before bowling.Had to be hard for him going to the foul line until they cooled off.LOL.Randy had a hard time from busting out laughing.

      Thanks Mark! Glad you saw this! He’s really great…took the time to sit down with me at the end of his day. That says a lot. I have to catch up on my recording of today’s telecast. Sounds like I’ll have a laugh too!

    I absolutely love Norm Duke. I've had several opportunities to meet with and talk with him. The first time I met him, he and my friend Danny Wiseman were testing new equipment for Dennis Baldwin when Dennis owned Hammer. I've Bowled in the same center as he was doing clinics in Texas. I've practiced in the bowling center that his parents owned in Mt. Pleasant, Texas and a couple regionals he was in. He is definitely a Man's Man.

    I've bowled a couple tournaments Walter Ray bowled several months ago. Norm's gonna do what he wants to do, but it's kind of shocking he wouldn't want to just shoot your random local tournament here or there, bowl league...just shocking to completely not bowl at all

    • @BowlingWithTheFef
      @BowlingWithTheFef  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, that was a surprise to me too, but he seems pretty content with his decision. Glad he’s still involved in the sport though his appearances!

      Spencer Robarge finished 3rd in the 2021 USBC Masters, then won the Chuck Hall Star of Tomorrow Award the following year: bowl.com/news/missouri-bowler-honored-as-2022-chuck-hall-star-of-tomorrow
      He was 18 at the time. That’s probably the best recent example I can think of. Of course, Norm himself won the Cleveland Open at age 18.

    USBC is killing the sport of bowling with chad murphy at the helm. i mean who gives someone a pay raise in his last contract when your losing bowlers and sanctioned leagues. look at the debacle at the USBC queens tournament when the lane machine malfunctioned on 37-38 and 41-42 and USBC answer, it didnt happen and when you look at the video, it did happen

    It's too bad these guys and gals don't have some kind of retirement setup to draw from after they retire. Not everyone is in the money at these tournaments. Look how many are doing videos on TH-cam to supplement their expenses. Sponsors help some, but...

    Its sad he won't even bowl in a league at all just to practice and be around people and have fun with it. Even coaching he can make allot of money imagine what people would pay for an hour or so with him. Running a pro shop. I guess with appearances he must get a nice paycheck to be an ambassador. I remember when he beat earl Anthony for his first title. Even bo burton jr knew he was going to be great
