Mrs Garwood passed 😢and have some of her books. For your information Mrs Rainneybpassed out like 20019 and of my favorites Johanna Lindsay passed on October 2019.
I was so shocked to learn that she passed, For her collection of Historical romance, I have to find 5 books: The Prize, Come the Spring, The Rose trilogy, Prince Charming & Honor's Splendour. I have all the rest. My favorite books are "The Bride & The Lion's Lady." I want to have her whole book collection even the thriller ones. Julie Garwood(R.I.P), Johanna Lindsey(R.I.P), Jude Devaraux, Christina Dodd & Catherine Coulter are my favourite historical romance authors.
I think so far the only historical romance I've read is Two Rogues Make a Right by Cat Sebastian and it made me remember how much I love this author. She's just so great at developing the romance and in writing banter between characters! I definitely need to read more from her.
This year I have only loved two historicals that I've read. One is "The secret" by Julie Garwood. The other is "A murder in time" by Julie McElwain. This one is historical suspense time travel romance. The heroine is an FBI agents. She goes rogue to England to actually kill a guy who is too rich to get the justice he deserves. While she's at this castle trying to kill him she goes back in time. In that time lives a Duke who actually gets really fond of her. She starts working as a maid for him because he has one of those gatherings at the estate. Then they discover a woman's body and of course she takes over the investigation. The romance is between her and the Duke's nephew who is also his heir. They start as enemies because he thinks that she's trying to take advantage of the Duke. The romance is slow burn and I don't think it had any spice. But it's that kind when you as a reader say "Get together all ready!" I'll just add "A counterfeit heart" by K. C. Bateman. I read this in November and I loved it! It has also spies and action.
So happy to see you mention "a murder in time". I loved the combination of time travel, historical romance, and criminal investigation! Do you know it is a series with 7 or 8 books. I just started book 2!
@@kimo2608 Yes! I know there are more books and I have them on my tbr. The thing is that I gravitate more to fantasy or contemporary romance. I was really surprised that I loved it so much. But I shouldn't really because I'm a sucker for time travel and I always love those.
Not an old or classic writer, new author, JM Diedrich's The Dark Duke series got me out of my HR slump. Would love some reviews and news on Book 3 release.
We have the same taste Samantha James and kerrelyn Sparks paranormal books together with Amanda Ashley are my favorites. A question what happens Kerrelyn?
Yesss for reading more historical romances!😍
Thank you Jess ! My favorite by Julie Garwood is the Prize😍 But I love almost all her books. I was so sad when she passed away.

I really enjoyed The Lost Queen series by Signe Pike. Not sure if it is labeled romance, but they definitely have romance in them.
