  • This video shows how I use my paper scraps to create some beautiful and fast cards. I went from a file box loaded with papers of different sizes and bits of paper in a mad jumble, to a more organized system with each color separated into bins and cut down to more manageable sizes. I also demonstrate more cards I made on the fly from the scraps now that it is more organized.

    Your video is a year old and I'm just watching it. I'm so pleased that I'm not the only one who watched a bunch of "organize your scraps" videos and in the end, I came to pretty much the same approach :) It does make whipping up cards in a hurry a million times easier! Thank you ♡

    I really like your ideas especially the window card. I agree with you too about tossing the smaller scraps. I've seen some videos where women make beautiful embellishments with tiny little scraps, but that's more than I want to do. And then I try to have to figure out how to match those little embellishments up with other larger pieces on my cards. Thanks for sharing your ideas.

      @loreendekort9551  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You are most welcome. I have also watched some of the embellishments from scraps video. I tried that, but that generated yet another thing I had to keep track of. Invariably, when I was ready to use the things I had created, I couldn't find them.

    You are a very neat & organized person. Unlike you I have always got a mess going on. I clean up everything when I get done, but make a mess when I'm working.

      My husband would disagree strongly aboout me being neat. haha. I'm getting better though. Papercrafting can get real easy to get overwhelmed with the scraps and stuff. don't give up.

    I originally had my scraps organized but out of sight , well we just don't us them when we can't see them and I also added a huge pile in a basket but the bins you have I love the idea better. Thanks

    • @loreendekort9551
      @loreendekort9551  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree. The baskets of paper just never worked well for me either. I ended up tearing and bending the cardstock and was mostly forgotten about.

    I'm not a very organized person. Started to organize my scrapbooking things and it is six weeks later. I have some nice organizers and not so fancy. I learned I like a bit more neatness and to Separate things according to categories. I am using more labels so you can see what's in boxes, painters tape is a start but nicer labels will come. Less is more so I am using up before I buy again. I learned to make use of scraps to make up cards or bling so that I am ready before hand. Pieces can be tinier than I want and that's okay. But maybe also I could make use of my sticky pen doodad since I own one. By making good use of scraps I don't need to invest so much money in embellishments. I will use up all my glues, use my sewing machine, try out things in my storage, plan out what I will buy next before hand, make out an inventory list, I will not stock pile. And best of all I will enjoy, be prepared, make beautiful things, show my people that I love them, not be overwhelmed, not work with inky fingers. I will be efficient. Yeah!

      Very welcome! It really helps to get the papers under control. Hard to pick up and start though, I hear you. Now that I am organized, to give you some incentive, I was able to sit down with stacks of card bases, some sentiments on strips and put together and create about 45 cards in just over an hour for a 'card emergency' that came up. Also check out my channel for the other scrap paper videos. I have several which show how I created some really nice cards using paper strips.
