      I think at this point in lore; primaris bolstered a lot of marine chapters. Even saved some from extinction. It’s even to a point I think guilliman even redacted some codex astartes limitations like recruitment during the indominitus crusade. Which I think this show takes place in or after.

      @@DrStank64 the 9th edition codex I have explicitly states space marines are 10 companies, 100 marines each. Perhaps some chapters are fudging their numbers (Black Templars *cough cough)* but they’re still very much in violation of the codex astartes. I wouldn’t even mind the 1000 man limitation if the chapters would be more of roving bands that struck in full chapter strength but the marines appear to be spread out in bands as small as 5 or 10.

    I'm no 40K expert, but if the Imperial Guard isn't exclusively men, that women can join too, what exactly is the reason why some join the Sororitas? Faith in the Emperor? Because from what I've gleaned of this universe, fanaticism towards him is pretty much universal. So what difference is there in fighting in his name in one group rather than the other? 🤔

    • @Nutellafuerst
      @Nutellafuerst 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You dont join the Sororitas. Theyre all war orphans selected at a young age.

    • @lachlanevans5013
      @lachlanevans5013 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +40

      The ecclesiarchy is not allowed to field men under it as Military(except for the odd crusader) and to get around these they use the fanatical loyal Sororitas(which are present on every imperium populated world) as their military soldiers.
      You can join the Sororitas by simply being extremely loyal and zealous to the emperor and being really effective of rooting out and burning heretics. Joining the imperial guard is like joining a regular modern army you either volunteer or are conscripted to do so and these Imperial guardsman make up the majority of the Imperiums army whether your religious or not.
      Basically the guardsman are the canon fodder(badass canon fodder but still canon fodder) whilst the Sororitas are a sort of special forces role(there are others but the Sororitas are mostly used by the Ecclesiarchy/Imperial church

    • @WSB1469
      @WSB1469 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

      The Sororitas take faith/devotion to the Emperor & dial it up by like 1000x. They’re respected, but many see them as extremist militants.
      They’re also harder to join. The Sororitas recruit almost exclusively from the Schola Progenium, which are basically orphanages fed mainly by noble families/houses or fallen imperial officials.
      The Guard recruits almost anybody lol.

    • @chaosXP3RT
      @chaosXP3RT 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      While the Adepta Sortitas (aka Sisters of Battle) are the most fanatical of the fanatical in their religious belief of the Emperor, the Imperial Guard has lower standards for whom it recruits and conscripts. Many Guardsmen may not exactly like being soldiers, but are forced or coerced into it. By contrast, the Adepta Sortitas view their job as soldiers as one of the most holy ways to serve the God-Emperor and willingly do it. Hence, why this Sister of Battle believes it was not her who failed to save the planet, but the citizens and Imperial Guard because they did not have enough faith in the Emperor.
      Adepta Sororitas are usually recruited as orphans by the Church, although on rare occasions, a woman can transfer to the Adepta Sortitas from other organizations. It is not enough for recruits to believe in the God-Emperor, but for them to be loyal to the Church and fanatical in their beliefs. They must memorize religious doctrine, and military tactics. Each Sister of Battle is essentially a Priest.
      Fanaticism towards the God-Emperor is not actually as universal as often portrayed. Belief in the Emperor as a God varies across the Imperium, although most citizens do pray to him and believe in him. Sometimes they may be skeptical of his divine power, but still go along with the religion because of the power of the Church. But, for example, most Space Marine Chapters know the Imperial Truth, which is that the God-Emperor is/was a human being that just has immense psychic power, and they know that he uses that power to protect the Imperium as best he can. Most Space Marines find the religious fanaticism of the Church to be tiresome. And the Primarch of the Ultramarines, Roboute Guilliman, actually finds the Church to be abhorrent, but allows it to continue because of its usefulness.
      There are some exceptions among Space Marines, like the Black Templar, who reject the Imperial Truth and actually believe the Emperor is an actual divine figure/God.
      Sorry for the long response

      @echo-ip3mv 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      One does not simply...join the Adepta Sororita and the militant orders.
      Imperial guard is open to both male and female yes , but they are not simple canon fodder either. The military training , endoctrination , physique atributes, and other requirements is on another level compare to our current basic infantry men in our deviant world.
      Their "basic infantry" is almost similar with our best spec forces we currently have. Legion étrangère , Commando Marine to name a few.
      Now for the Sisterhood Sorority...
      It's a special branch of the Ecclesiarchy and the inquisition ( Ordo Ereticus)
      Exclesiarchy isn't allowed to commandeer armed MENS by decree since M 36 and Goge Vandire age of apostasy.
      "Armed MEN" , by this semantic omission , armed womens evade the decree.
      Let's put aside the fanatical, higly religious mindset of the Sisters for now , and let's focuse on the Sisters capabilities .
      They are not common womens , but trained since childhood.
      Their training, physique, ect is way above what the imperial guard basic troops, male or female, as to offer .
      And their equipement , only available to them thanks to the wealth of the Ecclesiarchy and Inquisition.
      Boltgun and power armors the guard can only dream off.
      Well the only difference with the Adeptus Astartes is that they are not bio augmented , with more organs and stuff.
      All this makes the Sisters militant orders an "Elite spec force" with the best equipement the imperium as to offer.

Also as many have pointed out the Guardsman isn't actually there. She is either figment of her imagination, probably her dead Cadian mother.
