Just bought and rode home my new AK.....145 mile trip going 70 mph all the way...the wind beat me around but the bike is incredible and sounds much better than I thought it would....I hope I can take that lumbar support off the seat....have not looked at it yet since it is raining hard today....I want the extra few inches to scoot back on the seat even though I feel the bike is very comfortable as it is....I am six feet tall....
Once drove a BMW C evolution and couldnt remember I had this much fun driving a bike, any bike.

@RiderGuy, thanks for the response. I really like this bike.. I’ve heard some feedback regarding bad mirrors.. it’s nice to hear feedback from a real owner. I believe this bike is really starting to gain traction, particularly in the US. I’m currently in a Burgman 400, but I believe this Kymco will be my next purchase here in the next couple months. Thanks again
Here in California we are legally allowed to lane split. I wonder if the Kymco AK 550 can lane split easily (not sure if the width would pose any issues).

Here in Brazil this maxi-scooter is extremely expensive too. Around US$ 12,000.00.
In Taiwan (her birth place) costs around 10,000 USD...
If I remember right they have been making bike and car parts for BMW for over 30 years but SYM does the same for Honda and is owned in part by Honda am going to have to check that out for sure .
This F9 will just be another electric motorbike very few is interested in.
That rear disc seems abit chewed up.

I think that brown colorway is called "Eternal Rest Mahogany" the boots though I'm not too sure but I think it's called "Donald Sunset".

Yes it drives wonderful, if it drives... Sold mine after 1 year and 5 breakdowns.
What problems did you face? How long was it in the shop?
What problem did you experience with your AK 550? And what mileage?
Also ich antworte leider auf deutsch, da mir manche Motorradbegriffe im englischen nicht bekannt sind. Bei 2000 km plötzlicher Öl-Verlust der Gabel vorne links, beinahe Sturz in einer Kurve. Von Anfang an und auch nach Installation der neuen Steuerung und aller Updates war eine Standzeit von mehr als 2 Wochen unmöglich. Zwei neue Batterien gekauft, da die alten vollentladen waren. Mehrfach Motorausfall und Anzeige der Einspritzerwarnung, natürlich immer weit weg von Zuhause. Ursache konnte nie festgestellt werden und Fehler verschwand auch immer irgendwann "von selbst". Alles bevor 5000 km erreicht waren. Mit 5000 km habe ich das Fahrzeug dem Händler zurück gegeben. Eine Woche nachdem ich ihn dort abgestellt hatte rief mich der Händler an und fragte mich nach dem Kilometerstand, weil sich der ODO auf 0 gestellt hatte (ist sehr vielen Nutzern passiert) und die Sitzbank ging auch nicht mehr auf. Der AK 550 war Baujahr 2019 und alle Rückrufe/Updates an Hard- und Software wurden gemacht. Besitzer der späteren Baujahre, sowie Besitzer des neuen 400er Kymco berichteten ähnliche katastrophale Erfahrungen.

@@dank9288639 Maybe it got better in 2022 and if it's working, its a real pleasure to ride. Bought me a Forza 750 which is great fun and i hope much more reliable, sad but Kymco lost me as a customer for at least one decade ;-)
Your top speed figure is just wrong since I have seen so many videos of guys topping out at 185 km/h on it (115 mph)

I owned a BMW c600sport from new. I think these were made by Kymco it was extremely unreliable and left me stranded several times. In the end I traded back to the dealer after only 10 000km because it was such a pos. I loved riding a scooter but my advice is get the Yamaha. It costs more upfront but at least you know it will be good and reliable.

Scooters are just top heavy, and there’s no low center of gravity. And the wheels are way, way too small if you couldn’t avoid a big and or deep pot hole; it will destroy you and the bike.

No where near TMax... The value you loose in the first two years may buy you a second middle class scooter or a older bike.
I owned a PeopleS, bought new, without test ride thanks to a similar review. Shitty scooter, a fail in comparison to the Honda SH.
Lost 1000 euro in a half year and 4000 km ( bought with 3000).
