I had no idea this type of music was possible on harmonica. As in fast melodies with blistering amounts of notes. It sounds just like a skilled squeezebox player.
Hey Joel, thanks for your speedy reply mate. Yea I checked out your site before I asked, I was kinda hoping you were gonna say a low D, as the the normal D, can sound a bit like a tin whistle. As I said I checked out your site before I made the comment, good harp customizers are few and far between so I have bookmarked you, and will no doubt use you (and recommend you)...I do have a fondness for the 'Rocket', for it's soft edges and volume, but I'll no doubt be coming to you for a Richter version of that.....Thanks again..from Scotland
Quick question here Joel....what is the lowest sounding harp? .. G Maj or Low D and the highest , is it D Maj or High G Trying to play fast songs on a G major can sometimes sound sluggish and muffled just wondering if maybe I should try a High G for quicker movement Thanks
nodgelyobo1 Low-G is the lowest, then comes Low-D and then a regular G, the lowest note on the regular G is the same note as the lowest one in the fiddle, after that the regular D and the the High G. You would preferably have a Low-D and a regular G. And as you say out of the box harmonicas has a poor response, the thing you want is a custom harmonica. Better response and more volume, check out www.jaharmonicas.com send me an email and I can build whatever you like.
This is classy stuff…..never tire of listening to this man’s music. Thank you

Yes and it is in a different tuning than a standard harmonica from the store, it is beautiful
@@sonnybates8602 I love it too. He manages to maintain the musicality, the technique completely serves the music, he plays with a lot of soul.
Wow, you are my harmonica hero! Amazing, lovely! Thank you!

Jazz it’s a great instrument for Irish music ☘️
Good stuff Joel!
Great, thanks for sharing.
Are you combining puckering and tong blocking or are you using pure tongue blocking to get your sound?
100% tongue blocking ☺️🎶
Nice!
I just bought a Low D for Irish
! WOW
amazing playing...what key would you recommend for a beginner/intermediate Irish music diatonic player?...
nodgelyobo1 Low-D is the one I use most of the time. Check out www.jaharmonicas.com if your interested in a harmonica optimised for Irish music.
