      What does the tilde shaped symbol above a note mean again in the second jig? That you play the note above that note and slur it with that note following? Tha ks for sharing all this for free!!

      @@leif1075 I just saw the comment today, had so many notifications, sorry.
      I am a bit out of classical notation but I'd say it is a sort of trill. The effect is the typical sound of whistle players. I helps keeping the melody interesting and not so linear. I'm very sorry for my poor english... have a happy new year!

      @MrPaulOfield no need to apologize and your English is just fine. You're very articulate honestly. Can you please share any tips on how to play those adornment notes more easily or learn them easily..sorry I forgot the technical term for it. And tips to learn vibrator and fast passages and double.stops easily if I am starting violin as. A youngish adult?

    The family and I use this and the accompanying reel collection as a reference. It works well for practicing other instruments. There are no ads, no chatting, and no excessive ornamentation. Greatly appreciated!

    Make a screen shot from the sheets: press shift+Windows+S, adjust size of the sheet you like, and it automatically is in the clipboard. Copy it in document, ready.

    I am almost all Irish with 1 quarter of German. I love Irish celtic music. My parents who adopted me (they are mostly German) really encouraged my musical abilities in singing and I play the guitar, learning the 5 string banjo and the 4 string ukuilele. I taught myself to play the violin. My mother taught me how to play the piano . That's my musical life in a nutshell. says Judy Corrette

    Maybe you can help me with this: i am trying to make the rolls sound good, but i don't know how to do it best, for example: if im doing a roll on the E in the D string shoud i go EFEDE or EGEDE? How is it that you do them?

    • @aureliencorneille6241
      @aureliencorneille6241  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, both are correct. I do EGEDE, it sounds better

    • @aureliencorneille6241
      @aureliencorneille6241  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In fact you have to interrupt the main note once with a note above and once with a note below.
      The upper and lower notes do not really sound ... the upper note is rather "struck"

    • @KanadMondal
      @KanadMondal 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is late enough that by now you probably already know what it is, but it symbolizes a turn I think. It is no longer very common in modern music. (After some research I found that in this context it is actually called a roll)
