I got mine a week or so ago and I’ve not been able to leave it alone for very long! Like yourself, this synth excites me! It really is a lot of fun! It sounds incredible! I’ve not got my head into the patching yet but I’m so looking forward to discovering all the possibilities! Thanks for a great demo! Really enjoyed it! Thank You! Yes, BUY IT!
It has Midi Thru? Does that mean polyphony? Either way, Thru is suuuper handy. Though I've seen a Neutron taken out of the box and put into a eurorack case which is pretty sexy.
I really need more than one of these. The patchbay opens up so many sonic possibilities. A nod to the rumours of an EMS clone without actually being a clone and, to be honest, that makes this synth very exciting. I love it!
very interesting video about an very interesting synth. a pleasure to watch and listen as I like rounik´s voice and his sympathic kind of presenting as well. by the way: I find ask. audio being a really cool, helpful and inspiring channel.
When you really think about it, this is an insane value for what you’re getting. Doepfer could sell the oscillator section alone as a $500 module and people would eat that shit up. Behringer really out-did themselves.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed our demo... It's tough to choose, especially as the upcoming Behringer Pro One was shown off today and it looks very sexy indeed: bit.ly/2FXL1Uq - but the patch bay takes the Neutron to another level. For $299 each, it's feasible to have both. I'm certainly considering investing in the Model D regardless! - Rounik
Ask.Audio yeah the patchbay is the big selling point on this for me. I just want the D because I’ve always wanted a Moog for some lovely low bass tones. Other than the terrible visual design (imo), I’m really liking the features and sounds of the Neutron.
Agree! The Model D is getting rave reviews and sounds so close to the Minimoog Model D it is a no-brainer for $250... as for the aesthetic design of Neutron... I was thinking I wouldn't like before it arrived. Even after it arrived it took me a few hours to get used to it... and now I think it looks great. - Rounik
at 9:51 it starts seemingly playing different notes. is that something you're doing on the midi side, or did you make the neutron do it? I can't seem to replicate it
My thoughts exactly. Would have been cool if they'd included some kind of waveshaper on the sine that responded to the pulse width control. I'm thinking along the lines of the Arturia triangle metaliser.
I brought the Model D and the Neutron together. I thought I would like the Model D over the Neutron. The Neutron is a monster! There is nothing you can do to make it sound bad. every adjust make it sound better then the last(better have the recorder in standby). Hopefully I'll be adding the K2 and Pro 1 to my collection.
pair the neutron with the new minibrute 2s.... and you dont need a modular rig anymore :P just put the neutron in the fitting arturia modulecase. hmmm, i think i know where the next ~1000 bucks will go =D
Question here (synth newbie) I've been in the market for an analog synth like the microbrute an monolouge for a while, but now this thing caught my eye but the lack of a keyboard is dishartening to someone who's never used anything like this. My question is: is this thing usable with any midi controler? I'm just asuming it doesn't work with usb, but everyone I've seen make a video on this thing has used the arturia keystep. I have a midi controler at home, if I just plug the thing in and then into my pc, would that make sounds? :^) pls no hate im new at this. Seems a little complicated for me, would anyone say getting a microbrute would be a better 1st choice? Thanks!
Hi Alexsander, no need to feel disheartened. The Neutron can send and receive MIDI via the USB MIDI port and the traditional MIDI ports. So, while there is a good reason we (and others) use the Arturia KeyStep to control desktop synths like the Neutron, you can use most MIDI compliant (over USB) MIDI controller keyboards too. It's very easy whichever MIDI connection you choose to use.
Looks like a few more months for the US, the Behringer Model D is not yet available here either, so I would first wait for it and add a month for the Neutron to be available. I can show you the maths equations I used to calculate this opinion. ;)
- 15 - 20C here... so we're nervous and literally entertain ourselves with different stuff like this :) Yeah, on a sober mind i understand that in the most happy case it can be pre-ordered (for Russia) ~ May-June.
oh, that's cold! We're experiencing a snow storm (apparently) from Russia here in UK right now... guess it's a matter of pre-ordering from Europe as soon as you can? - Rounik
yep, keep safe and be careful! Today was -10 and now (evening) becomes colder and wetter. Do Behringer produce in China? If it's possible, i think it would be even cheaper to deliver. UK shipping is very costly. I've bought few C64 joysticks from there and remembered that.
David simons hi David. It’s a unique analog synth. Not a clone :) The filter as mentioned in the video is also unique and developed in-house and named after the engineer.
Im leaning more towards the Neutron because of the wave mixing ability and more in depth envelopes but have no idea when it will be available here in Canada. Not expecting it anytime soon as they are just now starting to bring the Model D into stores.
Come on guys, the Deepmind line was the actual game changer that started the whole cheap but great analog synths from Behringer hype. That's like 2 years ago, so Ask.Audio, if you want to seem a tiny bit competent, maybe you should know? Just saying.
Ryan, it's a really good synth, I have one and i'm hoping to buy another one, maybe two to patch them together. I'm 67 and I've tried a lot of great synths, this simple one is able to compete with an EMS VCS3. Just a spring patchable reverb is missing. I know, saying that, all the owners of VCS 3 are going to scream at the moon, throwing me stones to death !

Soon this will be "standard" equipment on every desktop studio. Small but great build quality and sounds great
THANKS ULI!!!!!!
Allmst all behringer products are crap... Don't buy a behringer synth...save a bit more and get a virus
@@djmclencio you're wrong
Looks & sounds awesome! Can't wait to get my hands on one.

I just pre-ordered mine yesterday.
The guy at Sweetwater chuckled when I said I thought I might get it by June or so, saying, "May be later."
artao5 it was available to preorder online?
I don't really see this available for preorder yet. Post a link, or did you call in and pre-order direct through a sales rep?

Best demo I've seen of this yet. Makes me think twice about getting the Model D. Hmm...

Hi Brett, yes, this is due to a different sequence triggered by the MIDI controller.
@@AskAudioMag Ah thank you!
2:42 - Pulse Width won't change a Sine...
I was thinking the same thing when I turned it ;-) - Rounik
Ha ha! Oooops!
BAHWAHAHAH nice one
My thoughts exactly. Would have been cool if they'd included some kind of waveshaper on the sine that responded to the pulse width control. I'm thinking along the lines of the Arturia triangle metaliser.
I have a question. If the neutron and its midi / gate output are to be inserted into the v/oct of the oscillator, it would work?
I brought the Model D and the Neutron together. I thought I would like the Model D over the Neutron. The Neutron is a monster! There is nothing you can do to make it sound bad. every adjust make it sound better then the last(better have the recorder in standby). Hopefully I'll be adding the K2 and Pro 1 to my collection.
The K-2 is fantastic ... but I love the ms-20
does the usb midi provide midi out so I can use it as a midi controller as well?
I like that filter. I think it sounds similar to a 303.
Thank you for this video. Is there a latch function (not having to hold a key) ?
Good bass on that thing!
Yes, maybe a bit boomy at places. But it keeps the base despite higher resonance settings.
Are there instructions or at least basic ideas for the modular patch side or just plug it and play it?
can you sync the lfo in key sync to an external bpm without it reloading with every note played?c
dam Behringer for making such a badass synth......looks like im gonna have to spend 600 now with one of these and the model D :)
Any chance you one like this for the Model D please and thank you.
Alejandro Aranda unfortunately I don’t have a model D here to play :(
Ask.Audio awww. No worries. Thanks for this video. I loved it. I’ve watched it so many times already.
Alejandro Aranda aww. Thanks so much. So glad that you enjoyed the video. :)

STATEMENT RED!! KEEP IT RED!! Does not matter about colour, please lets not let it blend in to sea of black&white KIT!! thanks for this Vid ;-)
Triplebacon Art agreed. And I think the red color is really nice anyway. :) - Rounik
Nord synths are Red, so why are people complaining. I think it looks good
I think the colour is rather becoming for an analog synth myself. Love it!
Nordlead don't fit :-)

Can u tell me what's on the back of the unit, can we put audio thru this thing? Thx
YES you can! I go through all that is on the back of the Neutron around 26:42.... here: th-cam.com/video/D9VSErVRUAA/w-d-xo.htmlm42s
Is this going to be like their Model D where you can take it out of the case and use it with a eurorack setup?
Michael Ramsey yes exactly the same.
Really, really enjoying the overdrive and how it even looks, which is amazing.
They'd better KEEP THE PATCHBAY HOOG. I want the huge patchbay plz.
deviousxen the patch bay is being kept. In fact what you’re seeing is basically the production model.
I want this.
How many voices does this have?
Red gear causes me visual stress but I don't think I'll be able to pass this up.
Red is the best color.
Nice video
I like that you don't pronounce Behringer wrongly like "Behrindsher" like so many others.
Thanks... we do try! Would the synth, mispronounced, still sound as good?
Of course ;-)
Pre-orders... where? :) Please!
Could you suggest... how long before 1st pre-orders date? :)
MoolahNasreddin not sure yet. Might be a week or might be longer. Depends also on your country or where you’re buying from.
Looks like a few more months for the US, the Behringer Model D is not yet available here either, so I would first wait for it and add a month for the Neutron to be available. I can show you the maths equations I used to calculate this opinion. ;)

Is this like the old virus b syth.
Will it fit into a eurorack?
Peter Roos yes it will!
I would buy it already for decoration of a wall in my room. lol
Is this based on anything or unique & original?
David simons hi David. It’s a unique analog synth. Not a clone :)
The filter as mentioned in the video is also unique and developed in-house and named after the engineer.
HE needed to do the sounds in a higher pitch, its hard to hear the low frequencies sometimes in the lower pitches.
Give it to me! . . . In BLUE!
Joseph Wright guess you could paint it ;)
That probably would turn into a hassle. It sounds great though and I plan to get one.
Undecided between this and model D.
get both? :)
Im leaning more towards the Neutron because of the wave mixing ability and more in depth envelopes but have no idea when it will be available here in Canada. Not expecting it anytime soon as they are just now starting to bring the Model D into stores.
Yes, I'd imagine it will take a few months... though perhaps it won't be as popular as the Model D?
Slap MOOG on this unit, replace the knobs with bigger ones and you could sell it for another $300 bucks!
Does it have glide?
You could patch in the slew limiter to get slide, methinks.
portamento time next to slew on the right.
i hope they makre polysynths
It's only a matter of time!
deepmind 6/12
Come on guys, the Deepmind line was the actual game changer that started the whole cheap but great analog synths from Behringer hype. That's like 2 years ago, so Ask.Audio, if you want to seem a tiny bit competent, maybe you should know? Just saying.
my friend, it is okay! there is no need to be upset
Dat filter..
I need a new faceplate for mine(to match the D)
good for bass
Good it exists and bad I don't think I wood ever get to twist knobs. I just know it's going to collect dust at home.
Sounds like cuckoo presenting there. Mine came with a Euro plug for my UK mains socket, apart from that, pretty good.
take my money now
wow, behringer makes cheap synths but theyve gotten me to buy a deepmind, model D, and now probably this.....

I really want this, looks perfect. The design is terrible tho.
Gimme
But what a killer synth for the price.....
Even regardless of the price.
Bad demmo
omg.
FFFFUCK !!! Really ?!?!
