Another synth review for you Castaways! The Neutron is an awesome way to get introduced to the wonderful world of hardware synthesizers - hope you like it!
Great video! I love my neutron. It forces me to get creative and inspires me with unexpected sounds. Also, I think attenuator 1 is normalled to pwm amount without the need to make a patch.
@@MilesAwayOfficial i didnt get the korg, somehow sounded "boring" to my ears. Got the Crave, love the beautiful voice the 3340 has... it's a beauty, makes me not care about patch saving :) (aaaaannd it cost way less...)
Awesome video, I sold mine last month to concentrate on a single synth which is currently the Arturia Minibrute and will hopefully be a Moog Grandmother when I get the money. If and when I get into Eurorack I think I might buy the neutron again as an inexpensive way to get a number of things covered. One thing I found super cool is that the oscillators and LFO wave shapes can either switch directly or blend from one another, which sounds really cool and forces you to listen to the different characteristics of the shapes, especially with the oscillators in my case.
Awesome! Yea the constantly variable wave shape is really neat - something you don't usually see on cheaper synths. Good for you for focussing on a single synth. I fully support upgrading to the Grandmother though, 100% one of the most amazing sounding and intuitive synths! Thx for watching.
@@MilesAwayOfficial I don't know much about synths, but I think making the LFO digital is the only way it will sync to MIDI clock/DAW tempo. Maybe there is a setting in the companion software to set it to 'free sync'.
I believe the lfo was set to tempo sync so it was jumping between divisions of the tempo instead of it being free to be smooth to slowly increase or decrease the rate independent of tempo, might be a setting in the computer editor to unsync it from tempo?
I am excited to check that one out! Thanks for watching Michael, check out my more recent videos if you like, the quality is much better than this old one haha
Dude...please, please, please, - keep the volume more or less steady. You nearly blew my speakers at the start of the last third of your video. Not only would I have spent on Neutron, but I'd be needing a new pair of speakers, all because I ended up watching your video geez )) I saw you change your knobs on the tuning pots. Did the same thing, always ended up accidentally touching them and had it go out of tune.

You can set the range/threshold of the LFO in the companion software so you don't go from super slow to audible levels in a quarter turn of the knob.
Fascinating! That's a great tip, thanks! I sold my Neutron a while back but that's a super useful feature.
I love the delay, it is really great when used subtly! I even use the neutron as a dedicated delay/overdrive/vca for patches with other modules.
Awesome tip.
Very in-depth overview. Thank you
Thanks for watching - loads more synth overviews here :)
You should get way more subscribers! You're an amazing synthesist, like that Loopop guy
Thanks so much!
The song Clear by Miles Away always takes me to another dimension 😍
Thanks Austin! Glad you enjoyed that one, was fun to make :)
@@MilesAwayOfficial 😊
The LFO is actually digital, although it's rarely mentioned.
Interesting! Thanks for the correction
Yes but it works very fine !
Nice. Love your opening. Just watching it here now... sweeeeeet. You makin me want this thing without even watching a minute hehe
Thank you! Check out my other reviews :)
I will never give up my neutron. The pwm is default through the attenuators I think .
Good tip! yea its a great synth. Wish Behringer made more cool originals like this.
@@MilesAwayOfficial I heard rumors of a Behringer Proton synth .

Thanks for watching Brandon! It's definitely a catalyst for unexpected sounds. And that's awesome - great tip to save a patch cable!
Attenuator 2 is normalled to PWM for Osc1 and 2. Attenuator 1 is normalled to Assign.
This is sick 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Luke!
Great video man
Appreciate it!
If i wanted to get a similar synth but with patch saving capability, which one should i be looking at? Cheers
Sorry for the late reply! I think the Korg Monologue is the best synth for your buck still. Patch saving, great sound, great features!

@@MilesAwayOfficial but the grandmother has nothing on this though,a keyboard,I guess.
Really great video and tutorial. I own Neutron for three years now and I just now realized how some things can be used. Keep going!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for a new synth video every week!
Handsome man i love yours you songs ❤❤❤❤
Thanks for watching man :)
Analogue LFO?
yes I believe the entire path is analog! (could stand corrected)
@@MilesAwayOfficial LFO is digital, my friend. Don't hold that against it. Still a nice bit of gear, for the price.
@@platinummonster9755 thanks! didn't know that. shame they couldn't have scaled it a bit differently with firmware updates then!

The Proton solves your delay problem.
I am excited to check that one out! Thanks for watching Michael, check out my more recent videos if you like, the quality is much better than this old one haha
Mine will not auto-tune half the time
Great, but perhaps you could invest in some more light bulbs!!???
This is a super old video, check out my most recent uploads for better quality. Thx for watching!
Proton is coming..... :)
I am gonna try to get my hands on one to review! check my recent videos btw they are much better quality than this one haha

😂 apologies! Thx for watching. Yea I sold the neutron Because of a couple small groups and the oscillator tuning knobs were definitely one of them
Awesome review! So intuitive and useful! Where's my wallet?
Thank you! Check out my other synth and gear reviews, I post every Friday!
Your voice is really quiet compared to the synth
Check my newer videos - this one was made ages ago, and my audio is better quality now!
BRUH, normalize your voice audio track plz. Great and very informative video but for being about audio stuff...
thanks!
