I happened to chance on this vlog, I too witnessed something like this in South India, while travelling from Tanjore to Tiruchirappalli in 2004, during a December evening, I visited this place again in 2017, and to my dismay, the meter gauge tracks have all been taken out, all that is there are remains of old abandoned shell of sheds and buildings. It was rather sad, I was looking forward to seeing that meter gauge train again. Thank you for this vlog
Awesome video, even if long! I love your sentimental defense of the meter gauge trains. Traveled on many of them, my most memorable ones being from Lucknow to Gauhati, and later from Gauhati to Silchar. The Lucknow - Gauhati was called the Awadh - Tiruth Mail - a beautiful blue train, which changed from Broad Gauge to Meter Gauge at Gorakhpur perhaps (can't remember now - many many years ago). Beautiful scenes throughout northern Bihar, Bengal and Assam (and later Mizoram). Indian Railways have been a truly unifying force for all of India! Thanks for the memories!
WHAT AN AMAZING VIDEO,,,I DIDN"T SEE TWO TRAIS RUNNING IN PARALLEL, AND IN THIS SMALL GAUGE RAILS...THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO,,,I"M FAN TRAINS. iN MY COUNTRY,,,ARGENTINE NOW WE HAVE MO MORE THAN 5000KM (3000 MILES OF RAILS),,,I MISS THE BEAUTIFUL JOURNEYS......
He he. Long way to catch up with Indian Railways bro..The total length of track used by Indian Railways is about 115,000 km (71,000 mi) while the total route length of the network is 67,312 km (41,826 mi)
Kid Oman,,,,amazing,,,,wow,,,25 times more than my country!!! and the speed of the trains, incredible,,,y saw some indian videos,,,and i im surprised, because the rails in some parts are with imperfections,,,but a lot of people use the trains,,and tha Alco smokey locomotives,,same as in muy country,,,,,thanks for the information!!!
David Young Yes, We enjoyed because Both trains are of different Gauges. One is 1676mm and another is 1000mm gauge. One is having 2600 HP Power and another is having 1300HP of Power.
Congratulations. You have spent much effort and dedication in shooting this amazing brilliant video. Yes Sad that MG is gone for ever. You have brought out difference in MG Vacuum brakes system ( brown coaches ) and BG compressed air brake system ( blue coaches ).

I love this very beautiful video and often look at it. She is very original. We appreciate long two trains: the one rolling on the broad gauge and the smaller one rolling on the meter gauge. They have a lot of similarity. My preference goes to the smallest because the locomotives YDM 4 will soon disappear completely with the beautiful passenger cars Jessop brown. This meter gauge train is not really small: it has the same size of those I take every day to 7000 km from your home. I really like the Indian Railways and thank you for this unusual video
i have enjoyed my early days in meter gauge trains. especially the journey between nandyal to giddaluru train travels ascending the top of an Hill and crosses a bridge an engineering marvel a dorabavi with a single pillar of 175 ft joining the ridges of two hills
First time I'm seeing any such train moving side by side for so long 👍👍. Thanks mate
