Based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her fetching wilfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love - as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance.
Starring: Juno Temple, Carey Mulligan, Michael Sheen.
Directed by: Thomas Vinterberg

Carey Mulligan looks and sounds beautiful, as does the film from what little we have seen. Absolutely looking forward to seeing this on the big screen.
We're glad to hear! Make sure you're subscribed for all the latest clips and news from the movie: goo.gl/JY0BMG
I cannot freaking wait for this movie!!!! Count me in!!
Yaas! Carey Mulligan's voice is so natural and wonderful! It looks quite similar to the original- but if it's anything like it, it will be amazing :)
When I first heard Carey Mulligan was going to star in a new adaptation of Hardy's novel I was elated because she is one of my most favourite actresses and the book is lovely and very engaging. I've loved her since Pride and Prejudice. The trailer looks amazing and is very much upto my expectations. All characters look like how I imagined them and the setting does too. Can't wait for the film and fingers crossed for Carey and Matthias Schoernarts to do amazingly well 😊
You are the first big C.M. fan that has named Pride and Prejudice as their jumping on point for Carey love. It was not a big part really, but she got a lot of face time and the camera loved her.
I love this arrangement of "Let no Man Steal Your Thyme" more than what was released on the soundtrack. The slight reverb in Mulligan's voice, the more cinematic instruments keep me re-watching this teaser.
Matthias Schoenaerts - love him since Rust and Bone so I must see this one.
Yeah, he's great (Bullhead was super, too). His English accent seems pretty good from the brief verbalization in the teaser.
Yeah I heard about that too but haven't seen it yet.
It's nice to see another Belgian actor in Hollywood after 'The muscles from Brussels' aka .... (can you guess who xd)
Yeah but I think there is a huge different between their talent. I mean as an actor.
This looks nice! And Carey's singing voice is beautiful :)
Carey Mulligan ALSO sings incredibly well :(
So excited for this.
The Hunt was great, heartbreaking drama and I'm expecting the same from this one.
yeah, Carey Mulligan can do fucking anything.
Michael Sheen - 100000% !!!
The song is called 'Let no man steal your thyme' but the versions I found were nothing in comparison with the one in the trailer.
It's one of those 'look-tough-and-whisper' trailers again.
I really love this story, and hope this movie will be as AWESOME as I'm hoping it will be!... If it is, it will surely be one of my most favourite movies! :)
Well done Will !
what song is this?
darude sandstorm
Sprig of thyme
***** thanks!
Let no man steal your thyme indeed
I love Carey Mulligan, but I'm not sure she lives up to the description of Bathsheeba in the book. Hopefully her acting will make me forget all that.
Early reviews are in and they all praise Carey's performance.
Brand new trailer out now: goo.gl/OOmqTV
It looks like it's a bit different to the book.
I saw lucifer from supernatural in here, awh yeaaah
Nope, not the Bathsheba from the novel, Cary Mulligan doesn't even match half of what Hardy envisioned his Bathsheba to be. Hope her performance changes that.
I do not know the novel and the trailer does not give much as to the story. Don't know.
No need. The new trailer cleared things up. Phew! Almost had to read.
God I hope it's not just 2 and a half hours of Mansplaining
