    I have the Forza M8.14 with Morel Tempo Ultra components. The bit software was a bit of a learning curve. However, once I got it dialed in it is pretty awesome. One thing that is not readily found in the manual is if you use the Maestro AR then you can use Audison DRC controllers or any of the original auto tuning like phase correction. The maestro does it for you.

      This is good info. I have the AP 8.9 and the installers seemed to just make the sound flat!

    I’m in the middle of an install on my 2008 Saab 9-3 convertible. I’m using the AF Forza M5.11 to power my front stage. Using the wideband Prima 2” in the dash, AP 65’s in the door, APX 5’s in the rear door and the APBX 10” DS Sub. Looking forward to finishing the install and tuning the DSP.

    That is an awesome amp, does some amazing things. Unfortunately I’m so old school and outdated that I would never be able to figure it out and use it to its full potential. I an optimistic and the more I watch the more interested I get, not ready to pull the trigger on an amp for that price yet, but my fingers are itchy and interest is peaking. Soon

      If you already have amps you might prefer a standalone dsp. You can also get them with a phone/tablet app which are usually a bit simpler.
      You don't even have to use all it's abilities. Just doing crossovers and levels is a good start.
      Setting time alignment is straightforward. You take measurements and input them.
      The EQ is definitely the most complicated and is best to set with an rta, but you can set it by ear if you want. Maybe later you can put together your own rta for $150 and do more exact EQ.
      Every time you upgrade, the sound gets better. So it's worth it to get a dsp.

    That's a coincidence, I have the same audsion apk 165 speakers in my van (vw t5 multivan) 👍🏻😊. And is sounds great, it plays direct from the headunit ( alpine iLX-705D).

    Looks good. The only thing that I really don't care for is their decision to use a tiny, fragile micro-USB connector for the USB cable connection for tuning. :(
    A USB Type-C connection is much more robust and modern/up to date and is only very slightly larger to implement and fit on the circuit board.

    Guys, What do you feel gives the best bang for buck in 2024, the more modern Forza amps or the more old school VOCE 5.1k and Quattro etc with a separate DSP ?

    Is this only for their newest line or will it work with the older models? Just wondering since I have an APF8.9 BIT.

    I want a standalone dsp that i can use with existing amps that auto tunes like the kicker key.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There's not too many capable of doing that. You might look into the Alpine and Audio Dynamics dsps.

    • @murdamechanik
      @murdamechanik 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How much processing do you need. The dsp is basically a kicker key without amplification

    • @Robjud-u2x
      @Robjud-u2x 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @murdamechanik the kicker key has its own microphone and does a pretty good job of tuning by itself. I am aware of other dsps but they require tuning. Im thinking of ease of use and setup.
      I need 2 or 3way front plus sub.

      Not only can you use whatever amp you want on the 6th channels but you could also use whatever amp you want on the four powered outputs as well.

      @jamesrichardson4604
      Yeah, most of Audison's former DSP products were indeed rubbish, including the travesty that was the original Audison bit one. So many issues! The Audison bit Play HD DSP was another clusterfvck.
      But there were PLENTY of issues and hiccups with the original ARC Audio PS8 DSP when it was released as well, and it took them FOREVER & A Day to get most of the issues ironed out, in addition to finally releasing the DRC remote for it, which then had its own set of bugs and issues as well.
      But these latest Audison AF Forza series DSP-amplifiers are much better, in addition to the software FINALLY becoming somewhat competitive. I just wish they'd release a standalone DSP without built-in amplification.
      I've used almost every major car audio brand's DSP over the years since the 1990's, and I still like and prefer the Audiotec-Fischer HELIX DSP hardware and software the best. They had some issues initially as well, but they were very proactive and continually developed updates and fixes in very short order. Julian Fischer also implemented and added several missing features & functionality in the software that a few respected SQ competitors had suggested or requested. This was unheard of at the time, and most DSP manufactures were like, "take it or leave it. This is what you get and are stuck with".
      But in my different vehicles I've wanted to try as many as I could in order to compare them, so in my different vehicles I currently use a HELIX Ultra, a Gladen/Mosconi AERO 8|12, and the miniDSP C-DSP 8x12 Dirac Live DSP. They all get the job done and provide excellent SQ, but the features, software, and ease of use vary by A LOT, and each has their own peculiarities and quirks for sure.
      I've used the JL Audio TwK 88 DSP and VXi-series DSP amplifiers in recent years as well, and I really like the newer TuN 4.0 software with its real-time phase analysis & correction that's borrowed from Rational Acoustic's Smaart v8 software. I'd just like JL to release a standalone VXi-series DSP, too, and update it so it has 31 bands of PEQ per channel.
      But I think some of the absolute best Component Speakers you'll ever hear are the latest Audison THESIS components. Although IMO the original v1 TH 3.0 Voce midrange is better than the newer TH 3.0 II, the other updated 2nd generation TH 6.5 II SAX midwoofers and TH 1.5 II Violino tweeters are amazing.
      They're at least as comparable and "on par" with any of the other high end brand components....Focal Utopia, Arc RS, JL C-7, Morel Carbon Elate/Supremo, Alpine STATUS, Gladen Aerospace, BLAM Signature, etc.

      @bbfoto7248 Have you seen RawCats measurements and review on the Down 4 Sound DSP they are releasing?
      It's not high end, but 12 channels for $400 and measures well is quite impressive. I hope it will get more people into the use of dsps.
