      Let me ask you one more thing: you talk about lowering gain in the second midrange because you need to match it to the first one. How should I begin to play with gains? Should I measure the subwoofer first ? What gain do you need to set up in your first measure? I’m lost in that subject.

      Your subwoofer most likely will.he overpowering the system anyways, so the gain on the sub will need to be turned down quite a lot. Just do the drivers one by one and see which one has the lowest level. And match the target to that driver. Reduce the level of all other drivers accordingly.

      @RAW-CAt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't have to. It really depends on your method of tuning. Usually I do TA as a last step as I am using impulse response for that.

      @@RAW-CAt Thanks for your reply. I was wondering about doing the time delay when I have a passive 3-way system in the front and co-axial speakers in the rear. I'm not sure where to take my reference from? I have mid bass woofer in lower door, midrange in the middle of the door, and tweeter in the dash. I'm thinking to take the initial measurement from the drivers door midrange? Then let the PC-Tool do it's thing? What do you think? Great video! Once you have done the Tune-EQ for each channel, do you then play all channels and adjust manually if it's missing the overall target curve when all speakers are played together?

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In that case ideally you should go back to individual drivers EQ and adjust there. If the drivers are EQed properly and time aligned, they will sum to your target. You can measure and EQ multiple drivers at a time, but that is not ideal.

    What is the deal with the Virtual Outputs? Let's say we've done this ,should we do the same for the Virtual side again after we set the normal output EQ ?
    once again we have similar situation for the Time alignment Tab, If we set the normal Output side should we enter the same values to Virtual Time alignment?
    Many thanks for the great videos !

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No, you leave the virtual channels alone. The virtual channels are very useful to make global adjustments. For example if you have front l and r virtual channels feeding all the front end, you can make global cuts or boosts in one virtual channel and it will affect all the 3way.

    Yo, hoping you can help me. Not sure if theres a better place to contact you, i dont really use Facebook.
    October last year i bought a Helix V Eight DSP MK2 based on you and PS Sound, ive been playing with it ever since in my car. I have two way up front, two full range speakers on the rear deck and a 10 inch Alpine Type R (working great, though i believe it to be 25 years old). Ive had the sub for many years in smaller cars and no issue.
    Throughout tuning, yesterday i just got a UMIK-1 because of you, i have the same issue occuring.
    The issue is clipping on some tracks on my subwoofer, i can play a really bassy track and it sound amazing and perfect, then i can play some house music and the bass drum is clipping on the subwoofer. At the same volumes.
    I have done some tweaking and thinking and have come up with the following ideas:
    - gain set incorrectly on subwoofer amp
    - signal too hot from DSP
    - 10 inch SVC Type R too small, not high enough power for size of vehicle/length/distance from me
    - high dynamic range of the signal from the Helix, varying from track to track.
    If i turn the gain down on the amp then the subwoofer is too quiet, if i turn it up to clip and back it off a bit then it will still clip in some tracks.
    Could you tell me what you think might be the issue please? I can test a 12 inch Infinity sub and perhaps borrow a JL 12W0. I will be upgrading at some point but i would like to work out the issue is as part of the process. Thanks for everything you have done, sharing knowledge for free with the community. You have taught me a lot and ill be forever grateful for that.
    Now i have re-tuned my car today with the UMIK-1 and TuneEQ after taking measurements in REW just for the record, i cant believe how clear it sounds compared to TuneEQ with a built (sounds decent) laptop microphone. But that's to be expected 😂

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To me it sounds that it can be something else than clipping. Maybe a resonance of some sort. Maybe ripped or unglued spider, tinsel leads or even unwind voice coil..check the subwoofer driver itself for mechanical damage, as for a sub that old, it is a possibility.
